Disappointment

P.S not an Anti fan or hater just a disappointed admirer.

I'm a new member to the forum, not an active member in IF either. However I do watch some shows depending over the buzz or the artists that i'm fond of. 'KumKum Bhagya' is one of those shows that I decided to give a shot because of An artist called 'Sriti Jha' , although I was pretty sure it would be one of those shows coming from EK's womb which would turn into a mess after having a potential start and starcast (Blame EK for her track record).

Sriti Jha , the lead actress of this successful drama (has) been one of those actresses I admired since I noticed her for the first time in 'Jyoti' and then she went on to show the dramaland how solid of an actress she is through her stunning performance in 'Saubhagyavati Bhava' which made me into her follower . After the end of SB , i was waiting for her to pick a drama soon that can continue her strong acting career. Then came the blow in the form 'Kumkum bhagya' , wasn't happy with the news that it's from Balaji Telefilms initially, but i was hoping sriti the artist who i'm aware of wouldn't be one of those regualr bahu's on tv weak , dumb , devi matha type. But boy , i was wrong. Sriti Jha the 'Artist' in her is on a hiatus now. Her emotional scenes used to make me feel for the character previously but now? I just can't stand the sight of her crying...simply because to me it's clear cut over acting , annoying and cringe worthy. Or maybe she doesn't have a choice other than to do what the director asks her to? Or probably the script itself demands her to act that way? Whatever the reason maybe the show is successful in it's own right and some viewers r enjoying it undoubtedly. Sriti gained a lot of fans herself starring in a mainstream drama which she would be happy about. But she lost some admirers like me who liked the natural actress in her not what she is now. While she is successful now , i'm sad to say that I see a downward spiral in her acting career with this show.

That said, I will end my rant here . Here's to hoping the next drama she does , she better bring the 'Natural talented Artist' out that she basically is. Sorry , for such an odd post but i had to get this out which i have been holding back since a long time. I have stopped following the show since the kidnap sequence and now when i accidentally stumbled upon the show it's still there ? Seriously 🥱
