Hi Tia, I get your point. I really do. For once, though Imagine yourself being in the same situation- Would you be really thanking a man who'd literally called you names and what not.

It is OKAY for him to have an extra marital affair. To sleep with his girlfriend despite of being married. WHY? Because he's a man? Oh, I am sorry. I fail to and would not accept this. Not meaning to be rude here, but the story line went a notch too unreasonable and disrespectful towards a human being per se, leave alone a man or a woman.

Abhi did do a favor to her by proving her innocence (something she wanted to do but failed badly in it). She did mention that she was hurt that he did not trust her and only expressed her belief in "kumkum" as in a lifelong bond of marriage.

Just think of the MMS getting out even if she is married to Suresh or stays single, it's not gonna be okay for her at all. And she is no celebrity to get away with that either.

She needs to hold Abhi accountable for various things, but for proving her innocence, apologizing and even going against his own sister publically, she should be thankful to him.

UH OH, I read fire and sarcasm here! I so relate with the anger you are feeling right now. Thank you for making me feel sane. *sighs happily*

We're never getting that Pragya back. She isn't allowed to be her own hero and she must remain grateful to the hero who also plays her abuser, blackmailer, and captor. I guess we should just feel lucky he even bothered to apologize, instead of feeling completely justified in his cruel behavior. 😊

The family in question here was affluent, rather. Also, middle class or no, there's a need to change. Change of mentality altogether. And, he did nothing extraordinary that she should be grateful about. That was a human duty and he had wronged her. My point is as simple- We do not need anymore women assassinating portrayals on national television. We have so much shite prevailing in the society already. No add-ons needed.

No the family was not affluent. We are talking about her family. Sarla and company. Her family would have been affected if the MMS was leaked, no matter how much they fought. We live in a society , whether there is a need for change is not the question here. It is the current prevailing social conditions that we need to consider. Abhi did do her and her family a favour by proving this to be false. She herself should have been smarter with the proof but failed.

This is why I said Pragya should hold him accountable for other things, but not this.
He did help her in this scenario.
If I were Pragya I would not have continued this marriage after the first night where I saw him with Tannu.
But she did not do that. So, I have to speak for Pragya as a character and not as myself. Even when the MMS stuff came up, she should have walked out without being answerable to him. But we all know what she did. She did not even fiercely defend herself. She was leaving him only for his good!
So, now that he proved something for her, I don't see why she should not be thankful.

ALL I WANT TO SAY IS, EKTA REPRESENTS THE FACE OF NATIONAL TELEVISION. SHE'S AMONG THE LEADING WOMEN IN OUR COUNTRY, WE EXPECT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF RESPECT THAT HER CHARACTERS WOULD HAVE. AT LEAST NOW. WE'RE WAY TOO AHEAD OF KYUNKI AND KAHANI. THAT'S ALL.

Assassination of the worst kind ! I am appalled. By everything. And I cant seem to let it go as " just a soap" because it is not isn't it?
Thanks for this post. It helps that someone is as upset as I am .

Fair point well made :)
However, just a small thing- Seeing him with Tanu was sure a setback. But, there was that code of respect that was always there, always. Not that it was right for her to continue with this marriage. Just the respect part. Aghhh this is all so weird. I feel like face palming myself 😭

LK this is the best line!! And yes we are supposed to appreciate Abhi for being such a good guy as to apologize. It is a big thing to see a man in his position make an apology, I don't want to trivialize that it is a big thing. But that we're supposed to be so grateful for it rankles nonetheless. And that it's supposed to compensate entirely for everything he's done and said - that rankles even more.

I guess what frustrates me right now is the sense that she isn't allowed to be her own hero - I like the way you put that. Setting aside actually saving herself - she isn't even allowed to get angry or defensive on her own behalf. That just feels so unreal. Even a woman who is powerless can feel anger. And Pragya isn't powerless, she just accepts herself as such.

Tulsi and Parvati were stronger characters than Pragya. Use of Caps is not allowed.

Ah! I feel so relieved too. I'm glad the feelings are mutual!
