Your answer is reasonable, Tia. But like I said, it exhausts my understanding because it means that Abhi only continues to see what he wants to. It also makes Abhi a ginormous hypocrite. He started everyone down this revenge plot in support of his sister and now he's angry that Pragya could potentially turn the tables on him and "win" in a game he himself started. How dare she support her own sister (which she actually didn't btw)? Such a failure to understand his own role in all this. Such a failure to realize that if he's capable of treating others in certain ways, he can't be all put upon when others do it too.

I'm sorry to say, Abhi can't win with me right now. He won't win with me until he gains some introspection. And a well deserved kick in the butt.

Million dollar question is after knowing how Abhi feels about her existence in his life, why she is still sticking with him and for how long?
What benefits she is going to achieve by lowering her self esteem?
Is she thinking that these are just for time being?

Very well said.
Abhi being a rockstar cannot digest losing the battle. By hook or by crook he has to win.
After knowing that Pragya was not at fault now he is more mad that Pragya by mistake of his came in his life. So, he is taking out his frustrations on Pragya.

Pragya needs to stand for herself! and for kick, that was a good one, he deserves that 😆

All of you have made great points!

Tia, what you say about Abhi not considering Pragya his wife is true, but he has to remember that he is married to her, legally. He is committing adultery and his perception doesn't really matter because he knows that cheating on your spouse is wrong. In fact, he is doing it to hurt Pragya, so it's a deliberate action of which he knows the consequences of.

Also, his verbal and physical bullying of Pragya is excused by some viewers because the writers write those scenes in way that incites sympathy for Abhi. He has now found out that Pragya isn't to be blamed completely for PuliYahBul 😆, but he hasn't changed his behaviour towards her. In the beginning, his bullying could have been chalked down to this misunderstanding but he has made it a pattern, which is worrying.

Like Lkb said, the writers are making him more and more unpalatable. They can now modify AbhiGya's interactions slightly and still have that element of jousting and tension but not at Pragya's expense. The problem is that this jousting doesn't go both ways- Pragya is simply a football who takes most of the blows.
Why is she falling in love with him when he is treating her like this? What character trait of his is making Pragya like him? In fact, Pragya is coming off as a weakling with low self-esteem who is falling for the man who is treating her like shit(excuse my language).

This kind of treatment- public humiliation, threatening, bullying etc seems harmless to some of us because we, as viewers can understand the writers' intent- that Abhi will not truly harm Pragya. However, the onlookers to Abhi's treatment of Pragya will feel like they can disrespect Pragya now that Abhi himself is vilifying her like this.

@NeelM, I absolutely agree with you on the TRPs point. I have stopped watching KB on TV. KB has become No.1, so obviously there a huge chunk of viewers who are enjoying Pragya's torment. 😕😕 That is weird. Maybe I wouldn't get so annoyed if Pragya gave it back to him in equal measure.

My sympathy for her is dwindling as well. She will lose me soon, like Abhi has. I feel duped by her previous version. 😆

If we go back, the first time Abhi decides to revenge on Pragya and marry her, he gives her the benefit of doubt that she might really love Purab and that's why she rejected him. But Pragya turns plates and accepts to marry him making him believe otherwise. So, it;'s not that Abhi will not accept Purab loving someone else.

The problem is not telling Abhi and Aaliyah and keeping them in the dark. And ditch them on the wedding day. That's not fair.
So, it's not about why Pragya should not support his sister.
It's about why hide it from Aaliyah and Abhi and have a showdown at Puliya wedding. I totally agree that the circumstances did not allow Pragya to say things, but to Abhi, she emerged as someone who schemed under his nose while pretending to play a good bahu.

Of course he also cheated her and trapped her into the wedding, but he told her that very soon and she had her choices from then on.

Even Pragya knows Abhi is all talk no action. Do you really think he would stab Pragya? He carried a hurt Pragya in his arms for miles in the jungle episodes.

Extramarital affair- technically yes! But AbhIGya marriage doesn't exist for Abhi. So I don't know what to say about that.

First of all, it's not real life. No rockstar has an arranged marriage with a girl he came to know of in just two days and no professor agrees to marry a rockstar whom she does not even like. So let's look at it in a fictional soap context and talk within those parameters.

No, I don't want a husband like that, and nor would I be a wife like Pragya. Fortunately, I do not have a mother who forces me to do stuff and may collapse if I don't. I would have walked out of the marriage the day one. But here both characters have some misconceptions and majbooris. They are not even husband-wife in real sense- two people stuck together in a mishap. I am only trying to see through their eyes.

It's up to you if you don't want to watch the show. I am fine watching it and I write what I think about these characters. I don't know why you want to question me personally! Can't I have my opinions like everyone else here?

Crappy behavior is crappy behavior, regardless if it's out in the open with motivation clearly stated or not. Moreover, Aliya's plot was premised on the idea that Pragya would be trapped in marriage (otherwise it makes no sense) so I'm struggling to see how Abhi telling Pragya the truth left her any additional choice in the matter. Or are we to believe Abhi and Aliya don't realize the social value most young women in India place on marriage?

So basically, it isn't easy for me to say what Abhi did is different from what he thinks Pragya did just because he's always honest with her. The truth is if Abhi was a good guy, a decent guy, he would have rejected Aliya's revenge plan from the beginning. He would have supported his sister by telling her that she deserves more than a guy who loves another and then he would have saved Purab in another way from a money grubber. But that doesn't make a good show. Abhi has to be less than good. He has to have crappy and dumb behavior at times, just like Pragya has to be a doormat right now to serve a plot.

I'm not immune from understanding what makes a soap work - it's unfortunately plot reliant at the expense of character. But there is a such a thing as going too far. I'm not surprised that for some, it has gotten there or is getting there. It hasn't escaped me that there's slightly less enthusiasm for the show lately here. I think it would have gone a long way if Abhi admitted, even to himself, that he made the wrong choice in starting these games. He could continue to believe Pragya is a bad person but even a small measure in understanding his own role in this mess? It would have been perfect. But he hasn't done that and shows no signs of it. Couple that with additional deplorable behavior, and we are where we are.

As Lkb said, if we are to debate on the word Abuse, we can spend the entire day and night here discussing and debating.

Just want to point out something - Eastern World, Western world, North, South - it all matters not. Abuse is Abuse! Regardless of location. Its just that it is illegal in some countries while it's not illegal in others. Verbally abusing someone whether you can be charged for it or not, is STILL verbally abusing someone.

I absolutely disliked how Abhi manhandled Pragya in the restaurant for many reasons. It was indeed typical Abhi behaviour... BUT - he did it in public and public humiliation adds another 10 tonnes to private humilitation cause you will have to face the staff and the ppl there after. If your supposed husband don't respect you in public, why would others show you any respect.
Secondly, the use of the knife was to make a point sure... and we can say from now to damnation that Abhi would NOT use the knife and I know that and maybe Pragya does too... but he brought it out and he was threatening her... and well... what if a waiter tripped into him and him with the knife went straight at Pragya... the point is, he used it and anything could happen.

Abhi however, doesn't and hasn't ever and probably never will take responsibility for his actions. Neither does she actually see that every action as an equal and opposite reaction nor does he realise there are consequences.

I dont know how much longer as a viewer, I can respect Pragya when she doesnt respect herself. Furthermore, not sure how much longer I can respect Abhi since he has none for anyone (expect Dadi).

As for real v. reel... thats another debate that can last a lifetime. But not all of us can differentiate between the two and whether we want to admit it or not, many ppl can relate these stories to their own lives or ACCEPT what happens on these shows as what can/should be the norm.

If we can pick up our sense of style and dressing and clothing from these shows, and want to emulate the styles and looks and clothes, then it begs the question - what else CAN we pick up. What are we saying?

Yes... we don't watch soaps to get a msgs... but it's still sending one isn't it?
