So here is part 9. I kinda look forward to your responses to this part as i have been a bit skeptical about this one. Also this is the major turning point to the story so I hope you all like and comment.. :)

Part - 9

The plan had been hatched. All acts well written as though a movie script. The plan was fool proof but still somewhere in his heart, Abhi felt as though it was wrong. He had initially refused to be a part of any of this but Daadi gave him no choice, it was this or she would return to Punjab and he couldn't bear that. Even though he wouldn't admit it to anyone, even he wanted in, anything to make him believe that she would come home, to them, to him was more than enough for him to do anything but deep inside he knew, what they were doing was wrong on so many levels but his treacherous heart wouldn't give in. It kept on hoping that all will work out, that she will come home and fix everything. Only she had the power to do that.

Pragya was sitting in the staffroom checking her assignments when suddenly her phone rang. It was Daadi. She hesitated for a moment but in a moment, worry for Daadi's health took over and she attended the call. "Pragya, puttar?" She sounds so weak, Pragya thought worriedly. "Ji Daadi, kya hua. Aapki aawaz se lag raha hai ki aap theek nahi hai." "Tere bina kya theek hungi me puttar, tu chali gayi mera sukoon, chain sab chala gaya. Wapis aaja puttar, me ni reh sakti tere bina." "Daadi ye aap kaisi baatein kar rahi hai. Please, mujhse aisa kuch mat maangiye jo me aapko kabhi na de pau." Pragya pleaded to the older woman who meant so much to her. She waited for her reply when suddenly she heard coughing. "Daadi?!" Daadi kept coughing so badly and Pragya kept calling out to her and suddenly she heard Aaliya's voice, "Daadi aap ye kya kar rahe ho? Aapki tabyat theek nahi hai. Doctor ne aaram karne ko bola hai na? Ye phone pe kaun hai?" And immediately Daadi went into another coughing fit. She heard Aaliya scream for the nurse and then the line went dead. Pragya didn't really have the time to think clearly. She just ran out of the college, hailed an auto and went to see Daadi.

As soon as the auto stopped in front of the Mehra mansion, Pragya didn't even think for a minute before jumping out of the auto after paying him and ran off. She reached Daadi's room and saw what she had never wanted to see, there she was lying on the bed with several tubes attached to her body. She looks so frail, Pragya noticed, with a huge lump in her throat she moved to sit next to her. She held Daadi's hand and just sat there looking at her. She didn't even realize when Bunty and Bubli came into the room. "Chachi!" They both exclaimed, "Aap aa gayi!" Both children ran into her arms, she felt calm wash over as the children sat there in her embrace. Suddenly Bunty moved back looking at her almost crying, "Why did you leave chachi? Did we do something?" Bubli too looked at her pouting, fully aware of her charms and how they work on the elders, "We will be good kids from now on, please don't leave us." Pragya was about to reply when she felt Daadi's hand tighten on hers, "Daadi?" "Pragya? Meri bachhi tu sach me aa gayi?" Daadi cried and then hugged her to her heart. "Itne dino baad kaleje ko thodi thandak pahunchi hai. Tu door hoti hai to maano jeene se hi man uth jaata hai. Kaash tujhe hamesha ke liye yahi rok sakti." Daadi said as she patted Pragya's head lovingly. Pragya stayed in Daadi's embrace for a long time. As she moved back from her Daadi saw that determined look in her eyes. In the time she lived in her house, Daadi had realized one thing, if there was someone out there who was as stubborn as her Abhi, it was Pragya,maybe that was another reason she loved her so much, only she had it in her to keep her high headed grandson in line. "Aap to sab kuch jaanti hai na Daadi.. phir ye sab kyu bol rahi hai aap." Daadi just slumped back into her bed and suddenly a machine started beeping loudly. Pragya tensed, "Is anybody here? Nurse?!" A nurse came running with Akash. Akash looked between Daadi and Pragya and then as if he understood, he started giving out instructions. "Bhabhi, come we should step out." He said and Pragya moved out of the room leaving the nurse to check on Daadi.

"Akash? What is going on? Is Daadi ok?" Akash looked at her and took a heavy sigh. "No Bhabhi, she is not ok. She is unwell. Her heart is weak. I don't know what to do anymore. She won't take her medicines, won't even stop crying, she just keeps calling out for you. Bhabhi.. " She couldn't say anything, she knew what was wrong. It was what happened between them, that was what had caused this and that brought on a wave of sadness into her. Was she going to lose Daadi too?

The nurse came out, "She seems stressed out. Her blood pressure is quite high. I have given her an injection, nothing serious, but she is calling out for a Pragya?" The nurse said and went to get Daadi's medicine. "I hope she takes them." She murmured. Pragya went in and sat next to her. Daadi opened her eyes and looked at her, "Stay here. Not for anyone else but for me. I know I am being selfish but please." She folded her hands in front of Pragya. Pragya grabbed her hands shaking her head, "No please don't. How can I? Here? He is here, Aaliya is. How can I? Plus I have a lot of people to worry about now. My family.. Please don't.." She started choking on her own sobs. Daadi said, "Then bring everyone here. I would love that. I want to surround myself with people like you and forget about the pain and suffering we are all going through. And I promise you, they won't even come near you. They will stay in her room or if you want I can send them away. But please don't go." Pragya felt helpless. How would she do this? She can't but she will have to. After her maa if anyone had loved her unconditionally, it was Daadi and she would not let her down.

The next day the entire Arora family came to the Mehra mansion, not knowing what to do or how to say no to Daadi they had all agreed but now that they were here, they didn't know how they would face the people who took away all they had from them. Bulbul and Purvi had been livid but seeing Di so worried about Daadi they decided to just go with the flow right now. Even their Daadi was not keeping well ever since.. She missed maa so much. Maybe Di's Daadi's company would do her good, they thought.

Daadi was feeling guilty. Though it was for the greater good, she could not help but feel that she was cheating all her grandchildren. Aaliya's plan was to convince Pragya to stay with them in the Mansion so they could show her that they had changed but she had hoped Daadi would pretend to be sick and that would help their cause, what none of them knew was that she wasn't pretending, she really had stopped taking medicines. She was trying to punish herself for not knowing about all that was going on in her house. Plus she knew the only way to convince Pragya to stay was by being actually sick. Nobody knew this better than her that Pragya was extremely difficult to lie to. She had a knack for knowing when she was lying and she didn't want to get caught and lose the last chance of her reconciliation with Abhi so she did all she could to make herself more sick. She had done all she could, now she had left it up to God. He had chosen Pragya as her bahu and he has to make sure she stays like that.

Aaliya saw Abhi standing behind a pillar, just looking at Pragya setting her bags in the guest room. His eyes shone, she missed that shine. It was as if Pragya Bhabhi had brought back his soul. She looked at him and her determination rose. She would make sure that her bhai and Bhabhi would come together even, no matter what she had to do for that. She will make sure she gives her brother the happiness he had always showered on her without even thinking. She will make sure she makes this work.
