Having some fun with Austen's letters from "Pride and Prejudice" and "Persuasion" but the words echo my sentiments with remarkable accuracy, and I do not think I speak only for myself! 😉 Dear Ms. Kapoor & The Other Powers That Be & Co. Be not alarmed, madam, on receiving this letter, by the apprehension of its containing any repetition of those sentiments or renewal of those plot suggestions which, one might surmise, are so disgusting and wearisome to you. You are correct in forming your opinion that these are your shows and you have the right to tell the story as you choose. We can watch no longer in silence. We must speak to you by such means as are within our reach. Your butchery of "Sense and Sensibility" pierces our souls. It is not that we expect complete faithfulness to the original but had you chosen to follow the story arc reasonably as anticipated, your show would not be inundated with weeping fools, delusional morons, and one dimensional vamps as it is in its present incarnation. We are half agony, half hope. Tell us not that we are too late, and that all common sense is gone for ever. We offer our loyalty to you again and again with hearts even more your own even though you continue to break them, one show after another. We start off by loving your shows and then we become resentful. Can you fail to have understood our wishes? We write without any intention of paining you, or humbling ourselves, by dwelling on wishes which, for the happiness of us, your esteemed audience, cannot be too soon forgotten. You must, therefore, pardon the freedom with which we demand your attention. We remain yours, most humbly - The cautiously hopeful/hopelessly optimistic Fans |
