But there are things I don't like. It's not meant to offend anyone if I say I don't like how Abhi manhandles Pragya sometimes or even jokingly threatens to punch her. It isn't meant to offend people if I say Pragya is acting so dumb sometimes. I hope that's not how people feel when anyone expresses a negative opinion - that it's intended to offend posters who don't agree. I think a negative opinion, just like a positive opinion, means the poster is thinking thoughtfully about the show. They're not just consuming it by letting the background music tell them what to think. They're watching, they're taking the time to write out their thoughts.

The second people stop having extreme opinions on this show is when we need to worry because that means no one cares. 😆

Thank you ... agreed with your post. Im one of those ppl who like critical analysis.

What point would the forum be if all we came to talk about would be "he looked cute" "her outfit was awesome", they were sooo funny and sweet and adorable and we enjoyed the nok-jhoks.

All of that is true and I enjoy the show. But I also like to analyse whats good and bad and would like the freedom to do so without being told to just watch and enjoy.

AND love ur line at bold, we care about the show and the good and bad in it and hence, we can discuss passionately about the pros and cons of said show. If we didn't there would be no forum activity other than frivolous posts.

Last but not least, we have sooo many shows and they are rated - G, PG, PG 13, R, etc. That means that it is indeed proven and noted that television shows influence and affect ppl. If they didnt, everyone would watch everything. So YES, some viewers do and would like to see better in a show they love since they know the actions of their beloved characters can have an impact on our normal lives.

A well needed post Tia! Appreciate it..

I completely agree with u.Having watched 5-6 Ekta soaps, one and off I know what exactly to expect. If u are seeking a show with superior content, complex character sketches and logical story situations.the Balaji soaps are the last ones u wud want to attempt.Infact I am surprised ppl had such high expectations from Ekta soaps, after witnessing the common trend followed by her shows since last 12-13 yrs. They are as formalistic and cliched as they get.Its all about the treatment. Some shows would have a good execution mostly aided by a very talented cast even in presence of repetitive stuff for the first 6 months. If you can enjoy those moments as mere time pass entertainment keeping aside ur intellect,Indian prime time soaps can actually be a stress buster. As for shows with inane content raking in ratings, its same for BW movies. The mindless masala entertainers with big stars earn big money while though provoking subjects get ignored

I dont approve of ppl questioning and acting judgmental of the ones who like watching these shows and movies though.Putting down Indian audience is something I dont appreciate. Some ppl seek visual medium as a way to relax after a day of hardwork in real world. Its a way to escape daily stress for some. They dont necessarily demand stimulation of brain through soaps/movies.I know ppl with PHDs enjoying non brainer comic flicks of BW than the serious art-house cinema. So the condescending attitude towards a section of audience just because they have a particular taste in shows is distasteful

Well said, Ash. I am one of those too that like to critique and analyze and am having fun doing that with this show. It is lighthearted so far with a dose of comic relief thrown in with the hero's antics. All is not perfect with him or the show but who said something has to be perfect for it to be entertaining? So as Tia says let us enjoy the show AND have the freedom to pore over the characters and analyze them to our hearts' content.
