First of all, this show does not involve a creative team hoping to win Emmys, Oscars or compete in a festival. It's a fictional Indian Ekta Kapoor daily soap and the purpose of the show is to make money and not preach something.

And given they use songs from movies like "Allah Waria" and not have an original track, just shows how much serious effort really goes into making the show!

And then, how many rockstars of our generation have married a middle class girl without dating and for revenge? How many professors would marry a rockstar to please their family members? But that's the premise of the show. Sadly, we have to buy that story if you want to continue watching it.

After that, again, Abhi as a character does not compare to Mother Theresa or Pope Francis. He compares to the likes of Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Justin Beiber or may be even Honey Singh. The artists I have mentioned, especially the first two are adored by millions if not billions, yet their lifestyle and habits were criticized to the hilt and they had a lot of issues! So Abhi has his flaws and I am so happy he does. I don't want to see some "typical hindi film hero" character who does right and proper things all the time! Because such people are so rare and most of us are ordinary people with a bunch of flaws. Yet, we live a satisfactory life in our own little world.

Yes, Abhi does beat up people if they bother his women. He has this territorial animal instinct. Many men do. Abhi has humiliated Pragya often. But that was his purpose! He believes she harmed his sister and he is revenging against her. Had he known the truth about Purab not loving Aaliyah or Pragya not being the girl who snatched Purab, things would have been a lot different. Time will come, when he will have his share of regrets and repents.

Pragya was never shown to suffer serious backache or bleeding with the prick of a pin. So, just shows how hurt she really was, physically. Yes, Abhi says he will punch her, kill her.. but if you remember he also says she drinks his blood, she will cut off his head. He talks like that. Many people actually like that. He is not so called "proper" or the most well mannered person on the block. The thing is even Pragya knows him so well. That's why she trusts him to zip her blouse! LOL.

Because, Abhi is also sweet and endearing. He sincerely loves his folks. He has a soft heart. He has an adorable ego. He has a dashing attitude. If you are on his good side, he is the best you can have.

So, there is nothing seriously wrong with Abhi. Or the show in general given its context, budget and its purpose. It is an entertaining show and I have no big issues with it.

So, I just hope everyone finds something to like and enjoy in the show!!!

Happy KBing.. Kumkum Bhayga rocks!

I don't see why people shouldn't be entitled to not like or complain about the show. This is a forum where people share their views of the show so why shouldn't we do exactly that? We're not all the same and just because you find no problems with it doesn't mean the rest of us do too.

Um, my problem is not with the show on this post. It's the fact that people are trying to subordinate others on a forum which they should be entitled to speak freely on.

I think some people find enjoyment in critical analysis. Even of a soap opera. I definitely do. I find that there are definitely things on this show that work. The humor, the actors are amazing. The potential for future stories has been excellently set up.

But there are things I don't like. It's not meant to offend anyone if I say I don't like how Abhi manhandles Pragya sometimes or even jokingly threatens to punch her. It isn't meant to offend people if I say Pragya is acting so dumb sometimes. I hope that's not how people feel when anyone expresses a negative opinion - that it's intended to offend posters who don't agree. I think a negative opinion, just like a positive opinion, means the poster is thinking thoughtfully about the show. They're not just consuming it by letting the background music tell them what to think. They're watching, they're taking the time to write out their thoughts.

The second people stop having extreme opinions on this show is when we need to worry because that means no one cares. 😆

I do have my issues with the show and the plot. I would rewrite so much if I was the creative. Nevertheless, I am also just stating my opinion as to why the show is okay for me. I am happy to hear anyone that agrees or disagrees with me.

Edit: After so many threads and posts about why the show is not okay... don;t you think we should have a thread on why the show is okay?
