In south India (atleast in AP), mama-bhanji relation is accepted. North Indians have problems.

The serial can't antagonise N.Indians right? a huge section of audience...It is widely accepted in Karnataka...though people of my caste don't marry mama..but mama and bua's kids are acceptable. A lot of southi movies are based on mama-bhanji or cross cousins wala love..hindi mein direct remake hua toh it will be banned😆

North mein bawaal hota..plus story is set in Lucknow...scandal kyun nahi hua re...logon ne kuch nahi kaha

You are right. But I read someone commenting on it initially... actually there was a speculation based on 'Ashutosh's diary' (MB wrote in it) ..that Ashutosh had a previous fling and he was single since then... In that post, peopel expressed their disagreement about mama-bhanji thing.

I guess north Indians even dont accept brothers from one family marrying sisters from different family also (against what was shown in HAHK)
