But suku di, weren't u supposed to take the story ahead, where Ashu was the hubby? I mean, The one Alka di initiated...
Mujhe confusion ho raha hai... Ye Rohan hubby wali story toh I had taken for my SS na... Why have these 2 stories mixed up...?
I have no issues, if u are writing the one I wanted to take, but, just want 2 clarify in my mind, which story is going 2 move ahead...
Mine or Alka Di's?

Ashutosh returned early from work. Stepped inside the house... Strange.. he had never inside this place during the day-time. Sat in his usual chair by the fire place. Each one chooses a different mechanism to cope-up... Ashutosh chose the hospital... Yes.. hospital shielded him from all those emotions.. that he wanted to avoid... he felt he is in a perpetual need of forgetting himself...

"Aapki responsibilty bhi hai na Aryan ke prati?"... Nidhi's words from yesterday are ringing in his ears... how much ever tried.. he couldnt wriggle himself out of Nidhi's eyes... the pain and desperation in those large questioning eyes...

It has become a routine for Ashutosh to visit his wife Nidhi and her son (does he her son only ? ... really I donot have any emotions or responsibility towards him?) at Clapham every weekend and return to Oxford by Monday morning, since he invited Nidhi with her son into his life.. a year ago...

Ashutosh had a horrific childhood as a neglected kid by his parents and ... later as an orphan... he sat in the school library during lunch time to avoid the pangs of hunger and friends...He was so jealous of his classmates who had nothing to worry about... May be his running away from himself started since then... This has continued even after baba took him to Baba-ka-Makaan... it was the fear settled within him..that baba too might leave him as he is not baba's own son...
Ghosts of the much neglected orphanage, have returned to him when really baba left him one day...

Ashutosh returned to London and joined at University Hospital on the suggestion of his friend and mentor Dr. Allan Wood an astrophysicist. Wood invited him not only to London, even to stay at his place too... physicists say, opposite poles attract... may be not to prove his colleagues false, Allan and Ashutosh have become very close friends in no time... friends for life...
Allan's wife- Dr. Jennifer Wood - a marine biologist made all efforts to set up dates for their friend... but nothing materialized with Ashutosh's indifference to have any relationship with anybody...

Allan's daughter Wendy was the most cute and adorable kid. Kids have that magical touch... Wendy was such revelation to Ashutosh; that he could easily make the difference between the confidence this child got by having both parents for her and his own tough childhood.
This reflected in his mingling with patients at children's ward. Also, soon people didnot believe the fact that Wendy is not Ashutosh's daughter.. Wendy has become Ashutosh's life.

Around that time, a pediatrician named Dr.Nidhi joined in their hospital. Her simplicity in nature combined with brilliant innovative methods in handling younger patients got her enough significance within no time.
Though, Ashutosh was skeptical about unnecessarily giving false hopes to terminal patients... he could not say anything against Nidhi's argument that the 'hope is the best healer of any critical disease'... and it proved right too to some extent...

Soon enough Ashutosh found himself got engaged with Nidhi in discussions.. He admired the wonders she created with her motherly love and tender care. Infact, the growing number of times Nidhi's name popping at the dining table raised a hope with Woods.

It happened then...

Dr. Allan's sabbatical leave sanctioned. He wanted to spend six months on Arctic glaciers studying polar auroras. This has been the dream for his wife too to study the prestine marine life in the icy waters of arctic ocean. Together they wanted to research on the electro magnetic effects and their reflections on the under water life. Jennifer has a strong hunch that the unusual shape and length of exoskeletons of these creatures is the result of polar winds and ionised gas... As a team Allan and Jennifer worked excellent... Ashutosh thought it would be an educational experience for Wendy and opposed their decision of leaving the kid behind with her grand parents. He insisted that Allan teach her use the communications using radio.

What ever any teams on such expedition would fear, came to reality on the day the katabatic winds played havoc at arctic pole. In the middle of the night, Ashutosh was summoned to be a part in the medical team going for rescue op.
It was only little Wendy's cry for help on a low frequency radio helped the rescue teams to reach the locations..They found her leg trapped under the heater bent at a very odd angle. The storm has changed the geography so badly that, it took 4 days for the team to locate the bodies of Woods along with their sledge dogs.

The worst came then.. Not only the leg, she lost her voice too when she saw her parents... She went into trauma...
Even with the slightest rustle of the leaves, her nightmares returned... Ashutosh could never pardon himself for throwing an innocent child's future into total darkness. He blamed himself ...suspecting that the ugly 'jealousy' demon hidden inside him for a happy child, might have triggered him to push Wendy cruelly towards icy winds.

Ashutosh will never forget how Nidhi worked day and night for Wendy... For Ashutosh, Nidhi is a God's sent angel... He had never experienced a mother's care. He had never seen the comfort only the close relatives could give.. He had never met a woman that he would love that much!!
Ashutosh accepted the offer from the department of Functional Neurosurgery of University of Oxford and shifted to Oxford.

It took him nearly 3 years to ask Nidhi.. All the while he stopped short of asking...as ... he knew.. HE IS SCARED...HE CANNOT BE A GOOD FATHER TO A CHILD...NIDHI's CHILD!
