Chapter 6 :-

After the meeting Ashuthosh quickly pulled out his cell phone and dialed nidhi's number .Within seconds he heard her voice "you reached home?" he asked

"Yes, just now '." She replied

"Ok" he gave disappointed groan "I thought of meeting you before going home" he sighed

"I will come tomorrow to meet you, I am planning a surprise for you '" she added gaily

"I can see something is cooking but not sure what exactly!" he mumbled

Nidhi chuckled "it's nothing, I was planning to get lunch for you" she replied

"Lunch!!..." he smiled "ok how about this, you get lunch for me and night time I will cook dinner for you at my place" he added enthusiastically.

"What is this?? Some competition going on?" she giggled

"Ok fine don't come '" he sulked

"It's so easy to annoy you, I was just joking'.between you know to cook also?"

"Don't underestimate me Ms Verma; I prepare awesome Italian food'"he added.

"Let's see tomorrow" she smiled.

"So tomorrow then, dinner at my place'" Ashu grinned

"Yes sure..."

Slowly walking down, Ashu opened the slammer and got inside the car.

"Are you there?" She asked when she heard only silence in other end

"Yes, right here '.I was doing something 'hmm between how was your day..?" he asked

"Same as usual how was your meeting?"

"It was good '. good discussion on enhancing patient care 'you know through provonost checklist"

"I know that guy '.peter provonost and his checklist, He and his team saved 1500 lives within 18 months period by introducing checklist protocol'.it's in Michigan, if I am not wrong"

"Tell me one thing which you don't know" Ashu asked in impressed voice

She giggled "is this a compliment?"
"You can take it like that" He smiled, leaning back in seat Ashu mumbled "couple of days ago I did not even know you 'baba just showed me your pic and I came to meet you 'now look at us" he mumbled

" you saw my pic '?"

"Then how you think I recognized you 'you did not saw my pic before coming huh?"

"No ...I did not dare to open it" Nidhi muttered "when baba said you are 33, I imagined you as pot bellied middle aged man"

Ashu scoffed "Ms Verma, sometime you shock me with your honesty"

She giggled "I dint mean to offend, but those were one of my fears"

"So what do you expect from your life partner, there should be some qualities which you look for?" Ashu asked curiously

"I don't know '.huh why are you asking this?"

"Just curious'" he murmured.

"if you want to know , I will tell you 'you know someone gentle, kind but still with manly attitude'.someone who don't fight with me, who care for me, someone who is humble, loyal, responsible, affectionate , Spontaneous , supportive ... hmm you know who buy me flowers, take me out for sky diving, night time bike rides and small ice cream treats"

"Do you seriously believe these qualities exist in one single person? Huh?" he scoffed

Nidhi growled "I knew this will come"

"Seriously! You are looking for life partner or superman!!" Ashu chuckled

"huh'?? Whatever" She replied in annoying tone

"Do I qualify in this '?" Ashu asked to lessen her anger

"No, certainly not" She replied in fake anger

He sulked "I knew that'" he mumbled in hurtful voice.

She giggled "no need to go on rumbling, I like as you are..." she replied certainly

"That is good to hear '" Ashu smiled "good night for now, I will be waiting for your lunch box eagerly"

"Only my lunch box? Huh?"

"Should I be waiting for something else?" he asked in teasing tone...

"Huh'" Nidhi scowled "good night, I am off for the day" she grumbled

"Nidhi '" he whispered "I will be waiting for you '.." He murmured and he knows...he imagined her face glowing with joy and her eyes sparkling and he imagined her smiling '..

Ashuthosh was driving to work when his cell phone buzzed, seeing the display screen a quick smile drawn on his face

"Nidhi '." he murmured in happy tone

"I need your help'.? Can you help me out?" Nidhi rumbled

"Is this related to today's lunch?" He asked curiously

"No'.I don't think, I can join for lunch as promised 'but I need some help" Nidhi whimpered

"What's wrong?" he frowned

"Nothing to worry about 'it's just that, I want you to come with me to one orphanage, the doctor who was supposed to check on those children's backed off '.he got some urgent case in Delhi"

"Which orphanage?" Ashu enquired

"Me and Anjie, we are active member of one of social service program 'today; it was supposed to be medical checkup program for those children's '"

"Don't you have office '?"

"Huh'. if you remember today is public holiday for me and even for those children's" Nidhi replied

"But I cannot come now Nidhi ...I have to go to hospital" Ashu replied uneasily

"Can't you ask someone to cover up for half day '?" Nidhi pestered

"But ...I am neurosurgeon, I perform surgeries, I don't do this!" Ashu replied

"You must have done this during your residency days'.it's just general check up Ashuthosh, those children's are waiting there" Nidhi mentioned in grumbling voice.

"Ok'.fine, I will come" Ashu replied "but you never told me, you are into social services" Ashu added bit later

"what is there to tell?" everyone does that don't they..?"

"No nidhi, not everyone' " Ashu paused "only those who are generous at heart and compassionate about others state do that" he replied

"ohh stop praising me will you '" She mentioned in flushed voice

He chuckled "you are worth praising Ms Verma, accept it!"

After brief second "now tell me, from where I should pick you up?"

" I will be near sion bandhra link road '" Nidhi replied in happy tone

"Ok, I will be there in another 40 minutes" he smiled "and we are going for lunch after that'" he ordered before hanging up the phone

As agreed Nidhi joined Ashuthosh from Bandhra road and they drived towards Dharavi'.

Walking through slum, Ashu saw the rods of what called the biggest slum of Asia

"This is not as bad they portrayed in slum dog millionaire'isn't it?" Ashu enquired

Nidhi gave him shocked expression "you never have been to Dharavi? Huh After living your whole life in Mumbai?" She frowned

"You are wrong '.me and Baba moved to Mumbai when I joined medical college that is15 yrs back and if you remember I was abroad for 10 years and I really did not had any reason to come this side" he tried to defend himself

"don't talk about that movie , it came out like poverty po*n" She mentioned making Ashu chuckle " but You are right 'this is not the place where people are depressed, look around do you see any beggars '" nidhi asked

"No'" Ashu shook his head looking at laughing children's running through lanes and people working in all types of small scale industries

"But this is crowded 'too much jammed" he added

"The population of Mumbai is almost equilant to Australia what else you expect?" Nidhi asked

"Seriously '." He gave startled look

"Yes seriously, Mumbai is just a city and Australia is whole continent ...But still! Our govt seriously should think about population control plan" Nidhi grumbled

"I feel instead of that govt should think how to utilize this much people force '.In England many industries were closed down because they don't have people to work for , our govt should come up with useful plan which benefit this country as well give rozi roti to everyone .."Ashu replied.

"Here we are" Nidhi replied and led him towards a big house which looked like ruin to his eyes

When they reached the entrance, Anjie and one middle aged man came forward '.

"Hello Jijaji '.Thank you so much for coming" Anjie came forwards with a grin

" saali need help and its jija's duty to help her out" Ashu smiled back

" ok enough of this saali and jija business " Nidhi grumbled

" huh you are just jealous '." Anjie giggled

Ignoring them completely Nidhi walked towards middle aged man "hellos Sir 'how are you?" Nidhi smiled

"I am fine Nidhi 'so doctor is here?" He enquired

"Yes ..." she paused and signaled Ashuthosh "this is Dr Ashuthosh" She introduced "and this is Gokulam sir '"

Ashu smiled and shook hand "hello sir '" Ashu looked around and mumbled "Nidhi told me about you 'you are doing great job"

"Thank you Dr Ashuthosh '." He smiled "so shall we, children's are ready '.they are waiting for Nidhi didi and doctor dada'"Gokulam sir smiled

Soon they were led inside; the whole place was in miserable condition, the walls looked so old and disheveled as if just an earthquake stuck and there was small kitchen where girls were cooking food for all members, there was big room where everyone for everyone to sleep '."

"We don't get much fund from govt '.and it's difficult to manage sometime" looking at Ashu's face gokulam sir admitted

Ashu nodded his head and walked towards main hall where all children's were waiting

As soon they entered, Ashu heard the roar and whoosh of happiness on those feeble looking tiny faces, the joy on those expectant faces were incomparable...there were children's from 2yr old till 15 who came forward and encircled them in happy hug

His heart swelled with love for those abandoned angels as instantly his hand rose to pat those little heads affectionately "shall we start?" Nidhi asked

Ashu nodded his head and soon nidhi and anjie and another boy who accompanied them started aligning those children's in 3 lines and started talking down, height, weight and other preliminary details

Other hand, Ashu cheeked their Bp, their heart beat and did necessary check up 'it was well past 1 in the afternoon when they finished checking each and every child

Closing his medical kit Ashu came towards Gokulam sir "you said, you do have funding issue and I want to help '.Let me know how can I be helpful here" Ashu asked genuinely

Gokulam sir smiled and patted his back "Thank you Dr Ashuthosh 'that's very kind of you, If you insist you can take responsibility of one child's educational expenses 'it will not be much" gokulam sir smiled

"Of course, I can 'Not only me, I have many friends who are charitable bent and I can pull some strings to arrange that "Ashu replied

Gokulam sir smiled "whatever fund we get, we use for ration and school fees and sometime recreational activates, but We cannot afford to look at each individual's interest and I don't want any of these children's miss out on opportunities just because of that 'they are bunch of bright kids Ashuthosh '.these children's can sleep with empty stomach for days but you cannot dim out their dreams 'you should listen to their dreams, they know to hope even in terrible state '"

Ashu smiled "I can see that '.," he paused gazing at those children's "Ok sir ,I need to go back now...this is my card" Ashu extend his hand " soon I will come back with a plan to arrange fund and please call me incase you need any more help" Gokulam sir smiled " thank you Dr Ashuthosh for everything "

Coming out, he saw Anjie pacing restlessly

"jijaji '.Have you seen Nidhi " Anjie Asked

Ashu looked around and shook his head "She was with those kids and now ...not sure where she is!? '. I need to go back to office in an hour or so ..."

"Don't you have off today?" Ashu enquired

"No 'my office follows Europe holidays not Indian" Anjie grumbled

"Anjie you stay near here, I will go check where she is '"

Telling this, he came back inside to look out for Nidhi, after 5 minutes of searching he found her in small room, sitting and peeking inside cradle '.

"Nidhi'..what are you doing here?" he exclaimed

"Hush up'..She is sleeping" Nidhi glared at him

He walked towards cradle and found a new born lying cozily in cradle "they found her week back near railway platform '" Nidhi mentioned and extended her hand to caresses the sleeping baby

"Isn't she beautiful ..? Those who abandoned her will regret later for doing this to her'.I bet" Nidhi muttered gritting her teeth

Ashu smiled and sat next to her "yes, she is very beautiful"

"Anyways one French couple came to see her 'they are planning to adopt her and take her to Paris , currently they are stuck with some paper work but soon she will fly off to live in beautiful city with beautiful people '."Nidhi smiled

"That's good to hear "Ashu mumbled

"I think after going there, She will get French name something like Joanne or mirielle 'not Indian names like Nidhi or Anjie" Nidhi mumbled

Ashu chuckled "and she will live in suburb with her rich parent's not in dingy looking orphanage"

Nidhi nodded her head "yes, she will have plenty of pretty dresses and a room all to herself'"

Ashu rose his eye brow "that sound nice'."

Nidhi smiled "isn't it? Later on, she will study literature from university of Paris and study Voltaire and his sharp witty poems"

"You want her to study literature"

"Uhmm I don't know '.it's her choice" Nidhi mumbled uncertainly

Ashu smiled "And then one day she will fall in love with French man '"

"Why Frenchman, why not Indian?" Nidhi frowned

"How can she fall in love with an Indian when she is living in Paris'.huh?" Ashu mumbled

"Yes you do have point ...ok, She will fall in love with blonde haired handsome Frenchman .who say je t'aime ...Instead of I love you" Nidhi giggled

"Yes they will get married and they will set up their little home in one of the richest suburb '.They both earn well enough to give good future for their childrens" Ashu replied

"And she will never come to know that she was abandoned, rejected once 'that she was left alone in railway platform"

"Why not ...She should know the truth! She will come to know eventually "

"Then the truth will break her heart '." Nidhi looked at him anxiously

" No I don't think so, even if she come to know, it will never affect her , because she will be having her French man who say je t'aime to her and she will be having her little children's who love her '" Ashu replied .

Nidhi face lit up instantly and a sweet smile lingered on her face "yes 'you are right, it will never affect her, and she will live a wonderful life '." Nidhi replied in dreamy voice

Ashu tightened his grip on her hand "that's beautiful future for a beautiful baby, isn't it?" he admitted

Just then the baby squirmed inside the cradle and slowly opened her eyes, her dark pupil fixed on them for more than a second and her tiny mouth opened slightly

"Aww , she is yawning and she is looking at me '.?" Nidhi smiled

Ashu chuckled "she is not looking you Nidhi 'she cannot concentrate anything in front of her now 'brain of new born are like sponges, everything in world is new and they literally have to learn everything from scratch , their brains even need to learn to translate the signal from their eyes into vision so that they can see '." Ashu replied.

Nidhi stood still silently staring at the tiny life which is sleeping peacefully "she is so beautiful'." Nidhi murmured

"You love kids?" Ashu asked with a smile

She nodded her head "I love these little creatures god created"

"We can have loads of them...you know once we get married!" ashu replied giving out wicked smile.

Startled, she tried to give annoyed look but Ashuthosh did not missed the pinch of blush rushing to her cheeks
"ohh you 'you are...so shameless" she huffed out and came out in rush

Making sad face Ashu came to her side "Shameless! I am just vocal when it comes to my dreams 'I don't keep it inside" he replied innocently.

Looking up she opened her mouth thousand times but each time her words dissolved in those pools of; depth of his eyes ' those eyes flashing brightly with a promise of tomorrow and with dreams so beautiful, so tender that she just wanted to reach out and touch.

Even though Ashu promised to prepare dinner for her, he could not meet her as by the time he finished emergency duty it was well past midnight, so after 2 day he called nidhi once again for dinner '..

Getting out of shower, Nidhi got ready to meet Ashu.

Wearing light blue kurtha and matching leggings to go with 'she came out "Baba '.I am going to meet Ashuthosh, I will come back soon '" she came inside to find her baba struggling to sit on bed

"Baba, what's wrong '.? Are you fine?"

Cv gave out husky laugh " I am fine Nidhi ' lagta hai acidity hui hai'aur kuch nahi, tum jao ..I am fine" he replied in tired voice

"I am not going anywhere; I will inform Ashuthosh that I am not coming '."

" Nidhi '.I am fine beta , aur dekho kapil is here" Cv pointed his finger towards door

"haan Nidhi 'you please go , I will be with your baba"

"Chess board kahan hai Kapil.." CV enquired

Kapil smiled "wo kaise bhool sakta hoon '.."

Nidhi heaved out in relief after seeing smiling face of her baba "Ok then...I will go 'Baba take care , I will come soon ok?" She squeezed his hand

Patting her head " tu jaa ..I am fine , jaldi ajana huh " Cv smiled reassuringly and bid her good bye .

When she reached , she found him waiting for her near the entrance'.Nidhi froze when she saw him'He was wearing usual khaki trouser and loose grey shaded t-shirt'his hair messy and with his dreamy eyes and that dazzling smile '.he looked totally irresistible to her eyes, catching her lost equilibrium she managed a nervous smile . Understanding this, smilingly he came forward and opened car door for her as she clambered down he led her towards elevator'..

"You found my place pretty easily '" Ashu mentioned

"Oh'its...Its...was not difficult" She stuttered still admiring his good looks

Elevator stopped in 11^th floor and Nidhi found herself in posh interior hallways which lead to penthouse.

"Come inside" he smiled leading her towards door

"Baba '" She looked at Ashu questioningly

"Baba is gone to pune 'to attend one of his friend's 70^th birthday bash, he wanted to stay back since you were coming but he had to go 'sort of last moment plan '" Ashu smiled at her

"Birthday bash! Sounds fun '.." Nidhi grinned

Moments later, she entered huge and neatly maintained living area with all white interior walls, floors and ceiling '.with vintage paintings hung on side of walls '.there was big open kitchen followed by sliding windows equilant to size of the door' which lead up to big open space '.from where she could see whole Mumbai glittering under her feet '..

"It's beautiful '." She murmured dreamily

"Come I will show you around" placing her bag on nearby table she followed him

He showed her small TV room; Bb's room and his study room which is filled with medical journals "you read all of it?" She asked in half amazed and half impressed voice

He chuckled "yes I did ...And I still do" he winked at her

Walking few inches, they entered his bed room ' as soon as they stepped inside she noticed sudden change in surrounding She felt like she entered more private area of Dr Ashuthosh which no one else invaded, it's stupid thought but still this sudden proximity or whatever driving her senses crazy thrilled her as well as terrified her.

There was so much going on, she could feel the tension and something tugging her inside '.this intense emotions overwhelmed her and her nerves played havoc over heart 'his hand which gripped her fingers squeezed tenderly transferring warmth of his body'her breath hitched in her throat and she felt thousand butterflies twitching every string of her heart '.

Narrowing her eyes, she glanced at him'he smiled as if he know what is going on in her head

She flushed

She blushed till her cheeks turned beetroot red'.

Turning away from him, she walked up towards a wall which is painted in contrast color

Whole wall filled with snapshots of Ashuthosh and his baba 'pictures taken from his childhood till his adolescence and there was single picture of his mother

"She is my mother '." Ashu paused gazing at his mother's photo

"She died when I was 5 yr old '.." He mentioned in controlled voice

"Do you miss her ..?" Nidhi asked tightening her grip on his hand

Ashu gave out nervous laugh " I don't even remember her '..is it bad ?" he asked uneasily

"No'.I don't think so , Even I don't remember my mother, she died when I was just a baby" Nidhi admitted

With a smile Nidhi turned her attention toward other pictures, there was a picture of little Ashu standing beside his baba holding violin in his hand, Nidhi smiled and involuntary her hands graced up to touch '.

"That is my baba; I believe you haven't met him '." Taken aback, she lowered her hand immediately

"Oh I met him" she paused " he came to our place few times to meet my baba ..." she murmured 'walking past he took a remote and pressed a button, soon slow rhythmic music started filling whole room

Slow rhythmic song played in back ground as they stood "I will get tea for you'" he stuttered, his eyes drifted leisurely back up to her face and smiled at her'

"You need any help '"

He shook his head "no, today is my day to cook 'you please be here..." he stopped abruptly "and just look around" He added giving out one of his slow secretive smile before walking out in haste '.

"Look around" the word sounded like signal 'his slightly raised eyes brow and sweet secretive smile which lingered on his face just before he moved out told her something is cooking '.

Looking around in his well furnished bedroom her face glowed and bright smile drawn up just when she caught hold of his secretive message ' Bunch of red roses, Neatly placed on the top of the table.

Bending down she picked up those flowers and opened the small note attached to it "To my lady'..with love"

Instantly She felt abundant love for those flowers and for him 'The words in his notes sounded so innocent, beautiful and so disarming.. Suddenly she found herself looking at those flowers through her dazzling tears; Closing her eyes savoring the moment she smiled in happy tears as slow rhythmic of song played in background like pieces of his thoughts '.pieces of his promises.

He has seen that, in her eyes...His emotions reflecting in her big beautiful eyes, the dreams which he is ploughing finally shaping up until it became part of her being '.Walking out of room, he actually found himself saying things like "yippee" as he leaped ridiculously throughout the living area'.slowing down his extra energized nerves he slumped on couch and hummed happy song and observed that her bag is fallen from table with all things strewn on ground..

Smilingly he walked and carefully placed it back inside the bag'keys, cases of aspirin, a hand mirror, her wallet containing all sorts of cards and half read novel with piece of parchment paper peeping out of it.

He know it is bad to pry but then there was this urge came over him which pushed him to open the paper, like an intuition that prompts a mother to inspect a toddler that's been silent for too long and sort of deep seated gut instinct which tells you there is something '.something hidden! Where he should go'..

Dwelling on the thought for than minute whether he should read it or not '.finally Folding the paper, he made hasty move towards kitchen; putting on kettle...he opened it and found her words in slant hand writing '.

Stumbling through my dark days, I found myself listening to despair of Lucifer; somewhere I turned my back to god and knelt down facing my Satan, my Lucifer '

The fallen angel, the tragic hero '.the one who despaired in pit of hell consoled me though his darkest words, in his sinful voice

His spit full vengeance destroyed every bit of my inside and upon the ashes I sat with my broken heart'..

He chased me in my days; his words searched for me in my sleep'.he never let me live nor let me die, upon there in my Hayward hallucination and my blurred out imaginations I found myself next to Lucifer, destructive and despaired'calling out for god who abandoned us both and left us to freeze in the pit of hell '..Our own hell!

Whole note filled with self aberration and utter despair' he felt exposed to her inner world which he always suspect existed, she looked even more mystified and intense to his eyes , his brow narrowed and his frown deepened in worry '

His thoughts got interrupted with the sound of her footsteps folding the paper he turned to her "thanks for the flowers" she murmured holding bouquet of flower close to her heart '.he tried to find glimpse of the despair which he just read but he found none. Hiding his worry he smiled "tea is ready ...shall we?" he asked holding 2 mugs of tea...

"Can we sit on floor '?" Nidhi asked when he guided her towards the couch

"As you wish" he mumbled and sat on floor facing her

Taking a sip of tea, she mumbled "it's good '.hmm'really good, I like it" He smiled distractedly

"Is something wrong? You look bit preoccupied?" She asked in uneasy voice

"Who is Lucifer Nidhi?" Ashu asked slowly

"What?"

"Lucifer '?"

She smiled "oh you don't know story of Lucifer, the fallen angel"

Ashu shook his head

"You want to hear his story?"

He nodded his head

"Its story before time began; you know when god purposed to create this world and us humans'.Now there was most beautiful and most powerful of all the angels god created, Lucifer! " she smiled : but he was very destructive in nature" She added

"At one point when god announced his plans to create the earth and us humans...Lucifer began a rebellion in heaven and started his own army opposing god, his ultimate plan was how to bring out downfall of newly created being in planet earth'.that moment casting his angelic wings god pushed him to the pit of hell and let him freeze in his bitter tears'

When Adam and eve, the first humans created... God gave a choice either to be loyal and live forever else to choose the path of Lucifer which will eventually lead them destruction.

And he prohibited them to eat any fruit from the tree of knowledge which was filled with good and evil, an essence of Lucifer's sin and destruction'.even after warning Adam and eve tasted the fruit 'and they were sinned " Nidhi replied sipping her tea.

"so in a way Adam and eve chose path of destruction '.and if you see we humans are nothing but part of god, the almighty and his brightness but same way we carry a part of Lucifer, the demon and his darkness" Nidhi replied sipping last sip of her tea'.

"What this has anything to do with her, what is she trying to tell in those distraught words 'is it just copied words or her own secret thoughts

Did she choose the path of destruction in any point of time? What has happened and what went wrong?

Somewhere his heart suspected she carry bulge of darkness inside her, where even he is not allowed' it will come with her just like a shadow tagging behind, never leaving her side'the mere thought troubled him and angered him '

"Why are you asking this? "She asked disturbing his thought process

With a heavy sigh, he pushed the note infornt of her and looked at her pale, flushed face, she sat still for few second and then it changed , he saw something on her face '.anger, fear, disappointment, displeasure...he is not sure what it is ? after a couple brief second , balancing her lost composure she gave him accusing glare

"You pried on my things??" she asked in stiff voice in turn he just shrugged his shoulder.

"Ashuthosh, you should understand that I don't like this '.I like my personal space and I don't want you to ...Keep ..." her words get cut short as he forcibly pulled her towards him with his both hands

"I don't like any space between us, you understand that" he replied in stern voice "I want to know each and every thing which goes in your head '" he glared and his eyes shone brightly under the dim fluorescent light

"And you need to trust me with your thoughts" he added when she sat still'

Looking at her shaken self, his heart melted and instantly reaching across he stroked her head , there was something tender about that gesture it showed that he care for her '.She looked at him with her wide eyes " you shouldn't read those things Ashuthosh .." telling this she crouched and buried her head between her folded up knees

"You wrote that?" he asked in a whisper reaching out for her hand

"I don't want to answer '"

"Why shouldn't I read it 'why you are so secretive about it, huh?" he asked tenderly

There was something in his voice which made her feel safe and her words which she were suppressed for long clambered in head

"Because if you read, you can see 'huh ...you can see right through me and you will know what I am!" she looked beaten

"What are you Nidhi '?" his word echoed through her conscience "what am I '" her inside squirmed and somewhere the wound which is still raw burned brutally making her wriggle'.and sitting there infornt of him at some point of time she realized the depth of darkness she carry, the destruction she nourished within herself 'is way too far than she suspected, she wondered is it only heart ache or is something else which pushed her to this despair "Is it only my heart which amar managed to break or is there something else which was damaged beyond my measure" her inside fumed and screamed " yes ..There is"

Pulling her out of thoughts "Nidhi '." She heard His voice soft like velvet reaching through her barriers "what are you '?" he asked in his softest voice.

Looking up with her tearful eyes she whispered in her most distraught voice "I am 'am so ...Ugly", the word hung in between them like something awful, separating them in way which terrified them both. He had a choice now to reach across and bury the space between them...as if he understood, involuntary he moved and placed tender kiss on her cheeks and then slowly his lips reached across corner of her eyes and sucked tears which started falling freely 'those tears like pieces of darkness she carried ..He sucked it within him filling his chest with her darkness and her pain '.

"Ugly! You are not, not in any sense'you cannot be Nidhi" his inside burned.

As if she understood his silent words, she cupped his cheeks and placed soft kiss on his lips'her lips pressed firmly on his lips and left even before he could taste her '

With a heavy groan he cupped her cheeks and bought his face close ,looking down into her eyes'he tried to trace the despair which he witnessed just a minute back but he found none "she suppressed it again" his inside rumbled

With a heavy sigh, "I am going to count 5 '" he murmured taking her by surprise

Perplexed she looked at his face, understanding her plight he smiled "you can turn your back and go from here 'because if you don't go I am going to do something which you might not like" he murmured giving an evil smile

"What are you going to do '?" she murmured in her half dazed voice

He grinned and brushing his nose over her cheek, he mumbled "I am going to kiss you hard '" his voice was dreamy and heavy with emotion

Her pale face glowed and bright redness crawled on her cheeks and with an equally evil smile, she gave him daring look

"I think I might like it '" she replied totally taking him by surprise

As if he was waiting for her approval, he reached across and placed softest kiss on her forehead, his lips traced the path toward her eyes and brushing his nose over her crimson red cheeks he sighed, Fisting his fingers in thickness of her hair .he took her lower lip making her moan in response. His lips played havoc on her senses and the slow rhythmic movements of his lips made her go crazy '.she felt so hungry for his touch, for his taste burying her fingers in his hair, she pulled his face close to fought for a way inside his mouth'he tasted like tea and something wonderful with a sigh, he pulled back and started placing softest kisses on her cheeks, over her chin..along the delicate veins of her neck and through her jaw making her gasp in response

With swift movement he took her lips once again and kissed her wildly, overwhelming her under the giant wave of his love 'she felt so lost in his embrace yet safe ' his kisses, pushing her, probing her , asking her question which she is not ready to answer, persuaded her to open the deepest and most forbidden corner of her heart'she felt like new person suddenly exposed to this new exotic world, like a new born with brain like sponges and heart fragile like flower '.pulling her out of hell where she freezed for long , she believed god finally placed her in safety of his arms'.

With final peck, he let go of her lips and pulled her on his lap and involuntary cuddling in his arms she buried her face in crook of his neck "you are not ugly 'not in any sense '..You are the most beautiful woman I came across '.most beautiful that you take my breath away Nidhi" he whispered in dazed voice making her smile and grin till her facial muscle pained'. Just when everything looked right and perfect something happened making her world crumbled down, the illusion shattered when she went to grab the mobile 'the caller ID showed Anjie and the very moment she understood something is not right 'she picked up the call with trembling finger, wriggling with call option "Nidhi'.. It's your baba" she heard Anjie's distressed voice

"What happened?" She gasped

"Looks like another attack 'we are taking him to hospital, come soon"

Anjie's words haunted her as she collapsed on floor only to be pulled by Ashu in his arm "what happened?"

"Something is wrong '.something has gone wrong with baba" she blurted out and she felt this is all make sense, that this is what she anticipated all along '.

That nothing good should happen to her '

Noting good will ever happen to her! She thought crushing under giant wave of pain which started engulfing her once again.. again and again...
