yes expectation is there but story is "what will happen when their past dissapointment clash with present expectation" . They are not going to get married right away ...its going to be slow falling in love process ...I really hope you like it 😳

When she stopped and looked at him, he looked flushed nad shaken just like her older self'.it was abrupt and impossible to avoid the new glint in his eyes, their eyes instantly met and the cheek so of each were overspread with deepest blush. He looked absolutely startled and for a moment immoveable by surprise '.but shortly recovering himself, he mumbled in his frigid trembling voice "I think, we should go now '.."

It was abrupt and she was taken aback with this sudden change in him and this sudden coldness reminded of someone she knew!

She was not pleased and she did not try to hide her annoyance...And with one swift motion, she got up and made a move out of barista'.

"Ok, what next? Final good bye from MR. Hitler lover huh" She frowned; A small sweeping disappointment lingered in her head even before she could register it '😳

Starting up her car, she waited for him to say something but he just stood still as if he is freezed under light blue sky '

Turning around, she took one last look at his face, his tall frame, his masculine arms hugging around his chest '.he looked pale, shaken and like someone whose inside is flared up and full of chaos "Good bye ..." she mumbled😛

Chapter 3 :-

When I first joined as resident doctor, I practiced something called constricted vision; it is stifled disorder which allowed me to see towards things that are straight in front of me. You focus on the illness and don't see the ill person; your peripheral vision is blurred, so that you don't notice your surrounding unless you deliberately turn your head to look...

It is something I needed to do that time, because I could not afford to wreck my head when I am working on someone else's head ….

It is like freezing your inside with a coldness which will eventually unnerve you, it is like feeling numb to human pain and emotions to the extent that you're surrounding consider you heartless…And I accepted that, the endless debate on my impassive behavior and endless chaos which questioned my very own being.

There was a time, not before I shed my past not after I prepared myself to step into my future...it is in between, when I was hanging to thin shred of hope; it is when I set my eyes on her Nidhi! …it is when she looked at me in careless abandon, in awe and admiration, like I am her universe, It is when she smiled at me ,laughed, gurgling, deep and enchanting laughs…. which sparked something inside me, flared up my inside, toppled my world upside down …. It is then I felt the first flip of my heart, the rush of blood through my freezed out veins …it is then I felt the touch of warmth and full force of life inside me …And it is then I felt my heart!

He was pulled back to reality with the sound of his phone ringing, he smiled looking at the caller ID and picked up the phone "saale , America jaakar bada aadmi bangaya hai tu huh …ek phone bhi nahi kiya …" Arman groused

" Arman , I was about to call you….it's just that. I got busy with hospital stuff aur,…'

" aur kya ?..."

"You know what a pain to relocate all over again …..I was busy …"Ashu tried to pursued

" Ashu , I am still not convinced with your excuses …." Arman grumbled

" Arman ,try to understand …I was busy ….Huh Acha I am sorry …..Galti ho gayee mujse , maaaf kar de" Ashu replied annoyingly

"chalo maaf kar diya ….but tell me one thing , how can you do this to me ?"Arman whimpered again

" ab kya kiya maine ..huh?" Ashu scowled

" kya kiya ? tu chaddi change karne ke liye bhi mujse puchliya kartha tha …aaj tu ladki dekne gaya tha na , aur mujhe bataye tak nahi "

" Arman …..Common , I just went to meet her " Ashu replied in mock anger

" kaisi lagi ….?" Arman asked

" Achi lagi …" Ashu replied in flushed voice …

" tu Sharma raha hai ……Ashu " Arman was startled " jis ashu ko main janta hoon wo kabhi Sharma tha nahi hai "

" Oh common …" Ashu chuckled

" teek se bata kaisi lagi ….."

" She is …huh.." throwing his head back on pillow , Ashu closed his eyes …" She is quite a thing Arman….I never met anyone like her " he mumbled with a delighted voice

" woohooo…." He could hear Arman's chuckle

"Kya main pooch sakta hoon …..Aisa kya tha madam ji main jo hamare Ashu ji ka dil chura baiti "Arman chuckled

Delighted smiled crawled on his face,..he imagined her sitting in front of him...all decked up and with that innocent look,… Walking towards vast window, Ashu stared out at big moon "Uhmm..She is pretty, you know ….very beautiful, smart but a bit of blunt mouth, she got a quick smile and dark, merry eyes … she is very honest about her opinion and of course not to forget she is anti Hitler ..." he replied grinningly

" My goodness ! so many synonym to explain one girl ……Ashu I never expected this from you , beta thu pass ho gyaa .." Arman guffawed

"And we had good debate on Hitler's actions" Ashu chuckled

"You did what …? " Arman scowled ….Ashu chuckled even more "well I did not expected this from a girl like her , you know …who spend so much time on blushes and foundation creams, I am impressed …." Ashu beamed and explained him about their debate conversation …

"beta tu kab sudhre ga , you argued with her??! …don't you know the primary rule to be followed when you go out with a girl …is that you should not argue…understand this, you should not ARGUE , but you should accept, even if they are wrong" Arman grimaced

" ohh common, it was healthy debate …we were not arguing "

"Yes, I can imagine that ….What was her reaction? Any positive signs to cling to buddy … I can see your chances are very thin after listening to your Hitler debate" Arman grumbled

"Yes, She said …she will meet again, well not literally though but still ….I think, she will" he replied uneasily

Arman did not dared to open his mouth, after a while Ashu asked anxiously "Do you think, she …you know she will say No just because we argued? Huh Arman! I think you are wrecking my head …stop doing that ok …I need to get up early tomorrow ….goodnight for now" He groused

"Don't worry buddy ….Say all is well and let me know how it is proceeding, happy for you...now good night "Arman replied in happy voice after brief pause of couple of empty seconds "But seriously what a topic to discuss ….Hitler and syphilis…such a deadly combination" he added suppressing his chuckle

"Shut up Arman…" Ashu grumbled before hanging up the phone

Sun was up and the room already too warm, light filtered through the net curtains reflecting prisms of colors on her joyous face. She breathed in familiar smell of brewing coffee and butter, and smiled hearing formal chatter between baba and Anjie….slipping into light colored kurtha, Nidhi stared at her reflection, pulling her hair back in a pony… she mumbled "This will do , if in case MR Hitler lover come to meet..!"

" oye kal call kyu nahi pick kiya …?" Anjie came inside scowling

"Here comes our own Ms Sherlock Holmes ….." Nidhi mumbled rolling her eyes "Hi Anjie ….how are you?"

" I was worried when you dint picked the call …..I was expecting at least message for my miscalls" Anjie rumbled

" I am sorry …..I came late yesterday and then I was bone tired so slept off …" Nidhi made a small face...

Slumping into chair next to Nidhi's bed …Anjie asked "So how was it? How is he ?"

"Here you go, MS Solanki's probing "

"He is fine ...ummm, you know all right " Nidhi replied looking away from Anjie's expectant face "is he good looking?" Anjie asked

" Anjie looks are not so important ….."

" he is not good looking ?" Anjie made a face

" No …No , he is …..I never expected …you know …."

" what you dint expected ….." Anjie asked totally puzzled

" he is so young …so handsome I mean ….! I never expected someone like him ….his smile is cute" She smiled

"You like him …." Anjie froze on spot …in turn Nidhi just gave her hopeless look

" my goodness Nidhi! Finally god created someone our Nidhi like…." Anjie chuckled

"What made you think ….that I like him?"

"Look at your face in mirror …you blushing, looking like tomato all red over your face ….his smile is cute! You never say something like that …you never told something like that from a long time nidhi" Anjie gave her shocked yet pleased look.

" so tell me more … what was his first reaction, when he saw you ….?" Anjie asked sitting next to Nidhi

"First reaction …..I don't know! I don't remember …..Beside why are you asking these silly questions huh?" Nidhi scowled

"Don't you know first reaction is the most candid one …it tell you how he looked at you" Anjie explain

"Well I don't know ...I don't remember " Nidhi replied

" Nidhi! You are pathetic...how can you miss out on such important detail, anyways ….was he glad, happy , joyous , horrified …did he smiled , scowled , made a face .." Anjie asked

" Anjie , you are insulting me …..What do you mean by horrified and making a face …" Nidhi grumbled which in turn made Anjie chuckle "but yeah …he called me judgmental over Hitler ...Can you believe that?" Nidhi grimaced

Sitting up straight Anjie stared at Nidhi " Ohh don't worry , I gave back nicely …." She smirked

"You did what …?" Anjie asked uneasily

" I told him whoever nominated that Hitler for world peace is a crack head ..And I am not judgmental" Nidhi replied

" Ohh god nidhi! What should I do with you …..You fought with him for someone who died like what 60-70 years back" Anjie grumbled

"We dint fought …." Nidhi replied

"Yes but argued …." Anjie added

"It was healthy debate …..Anjie " Nidhi tried to convince her "Nidhi don't you know about men and their elephant sized ego ……they don't like to feel they are wrong , they don't like someone who argue …when will you grow up "

"But I don't believe in what he said ….that's why I argued!" Nidhi tried to justify

" yes but it is not necessary to voice it in front of him …nothing would have snatched out of your hand by just agreeing to his points "

"But then it is like pretence …..I am agreeing something, which I don't believe" Nidhi replied

"Yes …everyone do that, it's not wrong to pretend sometime …."Anjie replied

"Then he sees only my pretence isn't it…?"Nidhi mumbled suddenly unsure

Anjie did not replied for a long time "but Hitler seriously...koyi aur nahi mila tujhe" Anjie chuckled

baba asked her decision very next day when she sat for breakfast, by telling she need some more time to think, she slipped away from the confusing question …..Yes she like him, he is good! He is gorgeous …he is earning well; he is well settled but is it enough to make a move? At least someone like her who has major trusting issue someone who haunted by ghost of her past! Yes, she did a promise with herself long back when her world crumbled down ….the promise she did with her shattered self that she will not spoil her life and not let her haunted past overrule her life but instead when time comes she will move on but she dint knew that this "MOVE ON" is so difficult …it is great leap of faith to trust someone who is completely stranger to her. "I don't even know his favorite color Jeeez" she grumbled …"Nidhi stop day dreaming, I need that report in 5 minute "her boss called out for her

She scowled, staring at computer screen; she tried to concentrate "why he did not called still?? Huh" She wondered moving her cursor to the middle of the screen "and why the hell is it bothering me …if he don't call, his loss" she rolled her eyes

"But isn't it 4 days for god sake!" She groused

"Did he changed his mind, he doesn't want to meet me, and he dint liked me? Or he is in thinking mode just like me huh" She wondered uneasily just then her intercom buzzed showing call from reception "Nidhi ….someone is waiting for you here, he is telling ...He is your boyfriend …you did not told us that you are seeing someone" her friend from reception desk asked her in hushed voice

" My boy friend ? huh ... " She replied quizzily , then as if she is enlightened " my goodness Ashuthosh ?!!…." She gave joyous squeal

"You are seeing him. …?" her friend asked "Whats with women and probing?" She scowled

" he is not my boy friend " she replied stiffly

" he is not …ohh he is so handsome" her friend replied

" but he is my fianc …..umm you know going to be" she replied with underlining note, "Stay away from him" which her friend did not missed to catch .

"Fine ….come soon; he is all yours" her friend chuckled

Getting up from seat, she ran outside in jet speed …..

"Ashuthosh came to see me" The very own thought filled her with immense happiness as her legs carried outside where he was waiting for her ……

Standing, gasping for breath she looked around and her gaze fixed on him, her inside squirmed and kind of daze overtook her mind...she saw him standing with his dazzling smile wearing khaki trouser and crisp and clear white shirt with sleeves folded till his elbow …the front first 2 button of shirt is undone slightly revealing his broad chest..His hair is neatly combed and he is wearing glasses which in turn giving him matured look "jeez, he look even hotter with specs on ..."

Her face flushed when she caught hold of his gaze…. he smiled and grinned knowingly …

" I was here in this locality ..You know for some work, just popped in to say Hi" he replied smilingly

"Huh, does that mean he came in just for formality" Her face fell and she lowered her disappointed face understanding this he replied "well, the work is just a reason ….you know "he grinned she lifted her face ….

"Primary reason I came here is to see you ….I wanted to meet you, talk to you …the other day, we left in middle in jiffy …..Are you free now?"

"Hell no! My boss will kill me if I don't send that report" she muttered under her breath

" Nidhi … will you come out with me?" he asked anxiously Unsure what to do , she looked up at him "Will you give me 15 minutes time , I need to send some report urgently….if I don't send ,my boss will fry me alive "

He chuckled "sure ….I will be here, waiting for you and don't worry ...Take your time …I am ready to wait" he replied with broad smile ….

Driving through familiar locality Nidhi stared at his face, he looked happy and his eyes staring back at her every now and then "I expected your call, but you dint called" he mentioned in mock anger

She gave him angry look "don't you know a girl should not make a first move …world will think otherwise" she muttered and flushed realizing what she blurted out.

He chuckled "well I don't mind and I don't give a hoot what world thinks …."

"so what you want to eat now ?…lunch time is over , we already had coffee and of course your strawberry soda last time when we met….anything new you wanna try ? He asked

"How about Ice cream…." She grinned

"You like ice cream …?" he asked earnestly

"Yes, very much ... you know not completely freezed but melted ice cream with little bit chocolate sauce, dry fruits...and of course how can I forget cherries and crispy Choc crunches…." She replied like little girl who is explaining her ice cream fantasy …

"That is huge ...ummm...that is really huge and sounds really yumm …." He grinned and soon he drives towards ice cream corner...

After ordering Ashu leaned back in his chair. "Your baba asked anything?" He came straight to the point

She nodded her head and looked at him with question "what about you?"

"Yes …." He replied bit tensely which gave nidhi an uneasy feeling. "He asked me this morning, I said yes …." He smiled at her "for this relationship, for us…" before he could continue she asked "did you said yes …..huh because you don't get anyone since you are already 33?"

His eyes flared up and he glared at her "you are insulting me, Ms Verma …with your silly questions"

she lowered her head and mumbled meekly " I dint mean that way …I am just making sure that you did not said "yes" under any pressure …and I am sorry if I offended you" his frown dissolved and but he still felt annoyed "MS verma, you should understand that …I am not some under age boy who can be forced to say yes and moreover …I don't work when someone force me and Try to control me …I have a brain and I sure want to make use of it….I am here, sitting next to you, saying yes to this to relationship …because I want to, I want to be with you and You should understand that" he scowled

She squirmed in her chair ……

"I am sorry … that was very insensitive of me to comment like that but that was not what I mean ….I jumbled up my question" she mumbled

"Then learn to phrase your question properly…." He replied in irate voice

"Jeez just tell me to drop to my knees and beg for forgiveness….I will do that right away" she grimaced

"Besides, what made you think that I don't get anyone apart from you huh? I can get anyone …" he grumbled

"Arrogance at its best ….men and their elephant sized Ego…beside what is he so proud of , his looks ….don't he know it will fade away" she grumbled

"I said, I am sorry … I dint mean to hurt you" she replied meekly

"You just hurt my ego …." He replied "here you go …" she grimaced

"Then why are you here? ….when you can search your kinds" she snapped

"You do have nerve ….?" He replied mockingly

"And arrogance runs in your blood …..You are rude and harsh" she replied suppressing her bubbling anger "and beside, I prefer someone who got brains rather than looks" she added sarcastically

"Are you telling me that I am good-looking?" despite the anger he felt delighted and he stared at her giving amused look

"No, I am just telling that you are brainless …" she snapped

He chuckled "god this girl is going to be death of me" he thought….

"Why don't you eat that ice cream fast…it is melting under your fuming self"

A small smile crept on her face and closing her eyes tightly..she breathed in …and slowly mumbled " I am sorry…., I dint mean to offend you …I dint mean that way you know ….it's just I am not good with words, I don't have smart words …..to impress you!" She flushed when she realized what she spoken out "I am not good at this" bowing her head little lower she replied

"You are good as you are now … "He smiled...

"And coming to impress me" he looked up and gave her quick smile "I think that is not needed ..." she raised her eye brow and gave him puzzled look …..

" why ?" she asked in flushed voice ….

" because already I am ….impressed by you ! " he grinned back to find redness filing her cheeks , her face burrowed and kind of joy sparkled in her eyes …..

"so is it yes then from you …..?" he asked suddenly …startled she looked back , gulping down her nervousness , she looked away ….something in her look and the way she is ignoring the question made him uneasy

His brow deepened and his face tightened …he looked displeased and heartbroken all at once "is it a No?" He sounded disturbed and angry

"No …." She replied

"Then?"

" I need time ….to think , about us…"

" is this because I shouted at you …..?"

"No …not because of that "

" then ,…"

"It's just that I need time to trust you… that we are really …. Good to be together….I dont know anything about you and I want to be ...hmm sure that you don't leave me" she stopped in middle just when she realized what she spoken out "I mean …" she stuttered

"I understand ……no need to explain" he smiled at her "and I appreciate that you told me …" he replied

"Will it be too much to ask for some more time?" She asked anxiously

"No not at all ….but you should know one thing about me, when a person commit to something, I expect them to stick to his decision no matter what ….I expect this because I do it ….I don't turn my back from what I committed to …so if you need time, please take your time …I am ready to wait" he mentioned in brisk voice

She doesn't know why but she felt relived with his words "Beside you did not said No ….and I trust you will do eventually" he replied confidently….

"And I will wait till you say yes…" He added

"Why?" She asked in puzzled voice staring at his confident self His eyes sparkled, his smile broadened ….those gravely deep, enchanting eyes stared back at her in careless abandon...and with swift motion, he murmured in his husky voice "don't you know by now MS verma….that I am falling for you and I can't afford to lose you, never" he replied with quietness and with equal calamity..His eyes blazed with honesty and his lips curled up in triumph

Her breath hitched making her tummy lurch in anxiety and excitement, her heart thudded loudly electrifying her senses, as she gaped at him in wonder …. "Is this some kind of joke?" She exclaimed

"I don't make a joke of such things ….!" He replied without taking his eyes off her …..

"How can you fall in love with me just like that? Huh we met 2 times, only 2 times" she mentioned

"What is the minimum standard time a person need to fall in love ...is it one week? 15 days? A Month …6 month?" he asked innocently

She gave him lost look "huh…I ..I don't know …but it just not like this …we met 2 times and uhm both times we fought as if we are ready to rip each other apart ….tell me one perfect moment where we enjoyed each other's company ?" She snorted.

He frowned "I enjoy your company even when you are at your worst ….Don't you, enjoy my company?"

Rubbing her temples, Nidhi tried to balance her lost equilibrium "Nidhi, I asked you something ….?" He looked at her anxiously

"Yes I do …I do enjoy your company …but" her voice turned tender even without her knowledge

Extending his hand, hesitatingly he took her warm and curled up fingers "listen to me ….." he whispered "love is not about perfection, it is accepting a person with the flaws …and I believe I already did that" he smiled nervously "it's not only your beautiful face which bewitched me but also I melted down for your most insensitive form …. You never tried to impress me wearing one of fake smile but instead you surprised me with your honesty, I really liked it ….you allowed me to look at you as you are, without pretence without your mask on…you showed me the real you" he replied in his calm voice

This in turn made her feel guilty "how can he be so clear in his thought processes …how can he be so clear about what he want?"

Getting up from the seat he sighed and then focused his eyes right on her, "think about this and about us …give me a chance to win your trust... I will never let you down…" He murmured

His eyes blazed with unhidden love and faith simmered brighter than his self... Sitting there as she stared at his full form, his handsome face and that anxious looks all over his face, her inside squirmed, deepest of deepest core of her heart clenched exhibiting familiar but long forgotten, forbidden emotions…she felt it erupting in her like butterfly fluttering its wings ….like ripples over the water...but somewhere in darkest corner of her heart a voice hissed "you are not worthy for him...you ...you ...just not worthy for him" like a resentment filled with ugliness and her own despair ...she heard that voice until it intensified and that's all she could hear ...that's all.
