Now, lets come to the internet part... I first surfed net, when I gave class 10th board exams... N just bcoz my frnds wanted, I came on Orkut... But, my elder sister always kept her eyes on my whereabouts... But soon, after 2-3 months, I really got busy at my personal front, then had no net access, n now, I dont even remember my orkut, Id-password...

As to fb, that I created even after clearing my 12th... My friends kept pestering, to keep put, I always used to visit fb very few times, that too, in months... (Now-a-days, ki baat alag hai... Hehehaha!)

as to this forum, well I came here when I was about to be 20... Isse pehle, IF kis bird ka name hai, ye bhi nahi pata tha...

As to my own juniors, well I always felt, my youngers are smarter n faster than us... I still remember, I was either in class 10th or 12th, when we heard of a girl, in class 8th, who's pregnant...
I was hell shocked hearing that... N I had said- I still don't get in the procedure, n these juniors, have already stepped into these things...

I myself landed with such a girl, who happened to be my bench mate in my last year at school...
Soon after our 12th board exams, she called me to tell, she 'did it all' n wanted to tell further... I was so pissed off... I told her to stop it then n there... I from then, have severed all ties from there on...

Ufff!!! My head still spins thinking wat the world has become...

Internet is very much useful if it is used in a right way!!
But, till some maturity, things may go out of hand. So parents or some elders' involvement is needed.. This is purely my opinion. But, I am very much concerned about the kids who hang around and just encouraging us to write stuff...which otherwise, they may not get easily.

So, as a post maker, I think I need to be cautious of the fact that there are children around!!!
I am just worried, about responsibility of myself ... 😊

As someone working with adolescents this is a common problem , I think children should be given good values but don't put too many restrictions , as forbidden fruit is always the tastiest, also they do a lot of things because of peer pressure , trust them , keep an open mind , that even if they make a mistake stand by them , hence I think give the liberty but talk to them always leave the channels of communications open

@bold

exactly!! It is very difficult to think of studies now a days without the help of Internet... and the peer pressure in good and bad things is driving others to push further... Having an open and healthier communication always put them in the right direction..

Now I am asking for my self... What should I do... When I know, that kids are around and they are being silent readers.. If they talk to me, I can assess... but no...😕😳

You are 100% right Sony Ji!!

Mudra what you have asked is a valid point, however if you see the note in the yellow box next to the message box it says it all , 🤬 but sometimes when I read , or rather glance through a M&B since I can't read that rubbish now, not to say that I didn't read it earlier , but it soft po*no , and all our young teenagers read it with such gusto , there is very little left for imagination , so I think it's a different generation , so the more open we are with them the better

I chose "I got hooked to TV soaps because of elders"
This is true because my mom watches Hindi shows, and now I watch with her. And I've actually learned Hindi from watching these shows.
I've actually been a silent reader on this forum since 2010. I discovered this forum because of CID, and then got hooked. Then I started coming here. I loved reading the fanfictions and daily updates. And then I made an account here.

And I basically avoid every forum besides this one and CID because the people are nice and understand people's opinions. I used to go on Sur Kshetra, JDJ5, BALH, and such when I was a non-member though

Oh! Good!! as long as your mom knows what you watch and what you surf.

Good.. you are using this to learn Hindi... But, why dont you consider other Hindi pracharak organisations to improve Hindi?

Read all the comments in your thread and I must thank you for initiating this topic for discussion Mudraswathi👏
Agreed with the opinions stating not to put restrictions but guide the children properly and communicate with them about good and bad. As such, so many ways are available for "children" to get the "knowledge" they want.
I remember my mother had explained to me what I needed to know in my teen days. Some of my classmates/friends had experienced it "all" owing to part curiosity and part fun😲 I was shocked at all that but in american culture these things are quite common and people do not look down upon it.

About underage children on this forum, I am also shocked to discover it in last few days. Some of them I have found of ff threads having mature (not soft or otherwise p**n) content. I wonder when do they get time to read all that and what do they really "understand" in all that🤢
