I had asked her to join in the conversation but she hesitated...she isn't comfortable discussing the lead's romance online...the knowledge of her presence did make me feel awkward at times...and that was one of the reasons why I discontinued my ff...the next chapter was to have some steamy scenes and I was unable to write it because I was conscious of her presence...things would have been different if she was in my age group...I have always viewed her as a child, even though she is more than eager to talk to me about 'mature' stuff...

P.S - She left the show during Khushi track...so I am sure that she won't be reading this

@mudraji once a kid learns of something eg a game/ program etc.. It is very difficult for a parent to completely avoid giving into the demand. My daughter is 7.5 years old but the way she talks, argues and uses words I feel like am dealing with a teenager already.

All the time I am doing a trade off quite frankly so tired of it these days - that I am seriously contemplating putting her to private school so that all that fashion in dressing up for school is gone.😡

Technology is a good and bad evil. It helped my son with speech but know he is wanting to watch on the IPad all the time.

In fact just going now to enroll them in a gym class so that they get tired and eat and sleep when there is no school.

yes.. many web sites donot allow people below 18 years.. and then sadly, always one can fake their age.. adult's intervention is very much needed.

In my view 8 years old or 8th std are too young to participate in any TVshow...

vidisha, what you did is a good thing..
I am really shocked to see small children around. One may argue that, children can get from anywhere.. Internet has all contents...

but we do have some responsibility... our conscience may not agree to do it... 😊

She has friends who have 'done it all'...Even though I am elder to her by just 9 years, I feel as if I belong to her mother's generation...

private schools too have similar fate Deepa...
My friend's daughter is in 10th and she is really facing problem.

As you say, we cannot keep a child away from Internet. And it is needed for their school work too..
and even if you try locking some of the web sites, they can easily find on google how to open the system files and unlock those web sites.

So, I think the solution may be the constant observation till some age and later it is ... to explain how important not to hook something.

Here, I am asking from the author's pov. Just because, children are getting everything on the net, I too can put those things in my posts?...Am I some responsible for these kids to get addicted to the show/forum?

PS:

by the way, there are some softwares available to lock some web sites.
Even if the child likes to access them in your absence, immediately it will send you a mail on your phone. Lets say, it is very important work and you are not around... then it gives the facility to type the password remotely from your device...

If you ask me, what if the child can break that security too.. then my answer is, that child is a prodigy and he will not get spoiled by any of these distractions..😆
