Chapter 3:
Next morning, Nidhi sat like an automaton, while Shyama was getting her ready……….she did her light makeup and made her wear one of her mother's lightest jewelry set which had some very light diamond earrings and a big diamond pendent chain, saying "Nidhi, ye tumhari ma ka aashirwaad hai jo aaj tumhare saath rahega. Aaj tum apne hone waale pati se milne jaa rahi ho. Tumhare Baba ne tumhare liye hira chuna hai. Jab tum usse milogi toh tum bhi agree karogi." Nidhi just gave her an indifferent smile. Finally, when everything else was done, Shyama helped Nidhi wrap her saree. Then she made her wear some matching bangles. While keeping the bangle box back, she saw something lying in Nidhi's dressing drawer and picked it up. "Nidhi, zara woh chain utar do toh. Ye iske saath zyaada jayega". Nidhi absentmindedly changed the necklace without even taking a look.
Nidhi, Shyama and CV leave the house. Nidhi does not notice even where they are headed. Finally, the car stops and she robotically gets down from the car and follows the two. Her Baba tells the receptionist. "I am colonel Verma and I am here to meet Dr. Ashutosh. I have an appointment." At the mention of Ashu's name, she becomes suddenly aware of her surroundings and realizes that she is at KGH. She is so stunned that she is baarely able to nod, when the receptionist greets her with "hello Dr. Nidhi", before turning to CV "yes Sir, he is waiting for you".
Nidhi turns to CV and looks at him uncertainly, "Baba…..ye sab…………Dr. Ashutosh?" CV nods and his heart fills with happiness to see Nidhi on seventh heaven as she comes and hugs him. He has never seen her so happy. Shyama too comes to her and hugs her, "kyun? Maine kaha tha na tumhare Baba ne tumhare liye hira chuna hai, ab toh maanti ho na". Nidhi shyly nods and hugs her back. While breaking the hug, Shyama's mangalsutra gets tangled with Nidhi's neckpiece. They immediately disentangle it and that is when Nidhi realizes that she is wearing the heart pendant gifted by Ashu on V-day. Surprised, she looked at Shyama, who smiled knowingly, which made Nidhi blush slightly.
CV says, "Aap dono yahin rukiye, pahle main akele andar jaata hoon. Mujhe Dr. Ashutosh se maafi bhi toh maangni hogi"
"Nahin Baba, aap ko unse maafi maangne ki koi zaroorat nahi. Aapka ashirwaad hi hamare liye bahut hai"
"Dekha bhabhi, kitni badi badi baaten karne lagi hai………..Theek hai mujhe andar toh jaane de" and he goes towards Ashu's cabin.
Ashu is restlessly pacing the floor in his cabin. He had got a call from CV that morning saying that he wanted to talk to him about something important – he spoke in such a toneless way that it was impossible for Ashu to gauge what the matter was – Good Lord, is Nidhi okay – she seemed completely distraught when he had met her at JS some 30 hours back. Maybe the promises he had asked from her were too much, maybe it has shattered her completely from inside. Hey bhagwan, ye maine kya kiya? But then what else could I have done? Whatever, perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to insist on talking to her one last time. Maybe she would have been bitter towards her family for sometime – but maybe it would have been better that way – maybe the bottled up emotions led her to some breakdown…….no pl. God, don't let anything happen to her! Please God, let my Nidhi be okay. Poor thing – she was too innocent, too young – why did he expect her to handle the pain and not let out even a sigh before her family…..
Wait, is CV coming to meet him because he came to know about their meeting at JS? But…..but that was in a strictly professional capacity….would CV hold that too against them. After all, they were in the same city and in the same profession, so it was sort of inevitable that their paths cross some time or the other. No, I would not allow that……. I would leave Lucknow, I would simply move out of her sphere. But, what do I tell my Baba? How would I explain? Actually no need to tell him anything. He could always tell his Baba that they were going on vacation for a few months……..that he wanted to stay alone with him to make up for the past 5 years.
With these and many other thoughts whirling in his mind, Ashu was getting increasingly restless, when he heard the knock. He calmed himself with great difficulty and then himself went to the door.
"Please come in Col. Verma" CV walked in wordlessly and sat down on one of the visitors' chair. Ashu followed him, "sir, aap chai lenge na" CV nodded slightly. He was still wondering how to broach the subject. Ashu ordered two cups of tea over the intercom and then came and sat next to CV instead of sitting on his chair. From this close, CV could see the dark circles around Ashu's eyes and though he gave CV a smile, there was something missing in the smile. He felt so guilty for causing him thi much pain. Ashu patiently waited for CV to speak, but when he did not venture, Ashu could not contain his anxiety.
"Col. Verma, aap yahan? Sab theek to hai, Nidhi ko toh kuch………"
"Yes Dr. Ashutosh, she is perfectly fine. In fact, abhi toh woh saatve aasmaan pe hai"
Ashu was thouroughly confused….was CV being sarcastic? Before he could try to analyse further, CV said: Actually Dr. Ashutosh, maine Nidhi ke liye ek rishta dekha hai – aur I think usse zyada perfect uske liye aur koi nahi rahega."
Ashu forced himself to say "Ye toh bahut khushi ki baat hai. Toh problem kya hai? I mean, aap yahan. Oh I see, Nidhi nahi maan rahi hai?"
"No, that's not the problem, problem ye hai ki how do I talk to that man"
Ashu was utterly at a loss.
"ji main kuch samjha nahi, kahin aap ye toh nahi keh rahe ki he knows about Nidhi and me?"
CV says with a straight face, "yes, he does know about you"
Ashu closes his eyes in agony, when there is a prefunctionary knock on the door and the canteen-boy enters with two cups of tea. Ashu nods his thanks to him and the boy leaves. Ashu while handing over the tea to him, says, "Toh phir aap unse keh dijiye ke hamare beech aisa kuch nahi hua jisse unhe koi objection ho. I am sure that if you talk to him, woh shaadi ke liye zaroor maan jayenge"
CV replies, "wohi toh kar raha hoon!" and then chuckles.
Ashu is sure, he did not hear CV properly. Oh God, he cannot mean that ……..that…….and he looks at CV utterly confused, not wanting to hope. CV turns towards Ashu, looks into his eyes and says seriously, "Kya aap mujhe maaf kar sakte hain Dr. Ashutosh? Mujhe pahle ye nahi samajh paaya ki Nidhi ke liye aap se behtar toh koi ho hi nahi sakta. Aaj main apni beti ke liye aapka haath maangta hoon".
Ashu is too stunned for a few seconds to even react. Then, his happiness flowed through his eyes in the form of tears, and abruptly got up trying to control his emotions. CV too was moved beyond words to see what Nidhi meant to Ashu. Finally Ashu came and again took his seat near CV. He could barely get the words out of his mouth, "Lekin aise……I mean aise achanak aapka faisla kyon aur kaise……"
"Achanak nahi, I think, subconsciously, I regretted my earlier decision almost as soon as I made it"
"What do you mean sir?"
"I am sorry Dr. Ashutosh, but us din aapki aur Nidhi ki saari baaten maine sun li thi………… Kya karta aakhir jawan ladki ka baap hoon" CV said apologetically. "And almost instantly I regretted my decision. Seeing the kind of relationship you and Nidhi share, there was no hint of obsession, crush, idolization – I realized it was love in the purest form. So, there went one of my 2 objections, right out of the window."
"And your second objection? I haven't grown any younger in these 15 days, have I?"
"No, but I guess I have grown more sensible in these 15 days to realize that age is just a number." CV chuckled. Ashu did not know how to react to that so he kept silent.
"Toh kya mujhe apni beti ke liye aapka haath milega?"
"I am sorry sir, lekin mujhse mera haath maangne ke liye bahut der ho gayi hai."
Now, it was CV's turn to be stunned, "Dr. Ashutosh, pl. mujhe maaf kar dijiye. Mere kiye ki sazaa Ni……"
"Aap kyon baar baar maafi maangke mujhe sharminda kar rahe. Aapne wohi kiya jo koi bhi pita karta.."
"Toh phir?"
"Mera matlab ye hai ki aapko mera haath mere Baba se maangna hoga."
"Aapke Baba? Lekin aap toh akele ….."
Ashu realized that Nidhi hasn't told her family anything about Baba, not even that his Baba was her Nana. Oh this is a great way to patch up these two men and wipe out past hurts and guilts from both sides. So, he said, "Aap mere ghar pe aayiye sab samajh jaayenge."
"Theek hai toh phir main shyaam ko hi shagun leke aata hoon." CV agreed happily.
Ashu too nodded happily, but then realized that everything would be too sudden for his Baba. He had to prepare his Baba for what was to come. "Ji, I am sorry, lekin woh kya haina ki Baba ki tabiyat kuch theek nahi hai. Toh, if you don't mind kya aap kal aa sakte hain?"
"Theek hai toh phir kal aate hai hum log. Ab main chalta hoon. Arre haan Nidhi bhi bahar wait kar rahi hai Shyama Bhabhi ke saath."
Ashu's eyes instantly light up hearing this, "woh bhi aayi hai?"
"haan, maine hi use bahar wait karne ke liye kaha tha, main chalta hoon aur use bhejta hoon"
"Chaliye main bhi bahar aata hoon" they both come to the reception area. Shyama was sitting alone. Ashu could not hide the disappointed look from showing on his face, which amused CV who said softly so that only Ashu and Shyama could hear him, "Kya bhabhi, aap thodi der keliye inki hone waali dulhan ko nahi sambhal paayin? Dekhti nahi ye kitne bechain ho rahe hain use dekhne ke liye?" Ashu turned red hearing this and CV chuckled while Shyama continued in the same vein, "Bhaisaheb, inki honewali dulhan ka bhi yehi haal tha…….lekin abhi koi bacha injection nahi le raha tha toh nurse ne Nidhi ko dekha to bula liya."
"Acha Bhabhi, toh ab hamara yahan kya kaam? Chaliye hum chalte hain. Nidhi ko aap drop kar hi denge na Dr. Ashutosh? Will you please drop her home by …….." then he looks at his watch as if thinking while Ashu looks on anxiously. "it's 9 am will you please drop her home by 10…" Ashu nodded while being disappointed, while CV continued, " yes, 10 pm?" and chuckles. Ashu too chuckles happily.
They both nod their bye to Ashu, and start walking, when Ashu suddenly realizes something, and says, "ek minute rukiye please". They stop and are surprised when Ashu bends down to touch their feet without any hesitation in plain view of the KGH staff. Too touched to say anything, they both place their hands on his head and leave the place. Ashu immediately ran towards children's ward. Nidhi was wearing a beautiful saree, and had her back turned towards him. She was telling the Raja titli story….
"Titli bilkul murjha si gayi thi apne raja ke bina…shayad isliye jo titli ke baba the unhe bhi daya aagayi, aur unhone titli ko raja ke paas jaane diya"…..
"Aur ab raja us titli ko hamesha hamesha ke liye apne qile me kaid kar ke rakhega. Use kabhi bhi apne se door nahi jaane dega, kyunke who apni titli ke bina jee hi nahi sakta"
She turned around hearing his voice and Ashu uttered the second part of his story, looking straight into her eyes. They share an intense eyelock as the children cheer and clap at the happy ending of the Raja Titli story. Finally, Ashu says tongue-in-cheek, "chalo bachchon, ab Dr. Nidhi ko yahan se jaana hoga. Unka hone wala pati unka besabri se intezaar kar raha hai." Nidhi turns red.
One little girl says, "arre Dr. Nidhi ki shaadi ho rahi hai…….voh bhi bride banengi, aap bhi red saree pahnengi" "arre buddhu, nahi red saree toh old fashioned hai, aajkal toh ghaghra choli pahenti hain brides…." A slightly elder girls argues……. "lekin inpe toh saree kitni achi lagti hai…….. haina Dr. Ashutosh?" Ashu leisurely looks at saree clad Nidhi from head to toe, his gaze lingers on her neck as he is surprised to the pendent, while she melts under his gaze, and says dreamily, "haan khushboo, tum bilkul sahi keh rahi ho. Dr. Nidhi looks irresistible in a saree" making NIdhi blush even more.
"Irresistible matlab?" Ashu suddenly realizes what he said in front of innocent kids. He blushes and tries hard to do damage control, but fails miserably, "Woh……………….mera matlab……woh….."
Nidhi controls the situation with, "Chaliye Dr. Ashutosh, mujhe bataiye mere hone wale husband kahan wait kar rahe hain, unhe zyada wait karaya toh shaadi ke baad meri khair nahi" she says naughtily. Ashu is floored by her boldness. God, she sure is something…..she would sure drive hm mad after marriage. Both say a hurried bye to the kids and go to ashu's cabin.
They sit side by side on the sofa. Both are silent for a few seconds…………..then suddenly Nidhi breaks down and he envelops her in his arms. "Shh… Nidhi ab toh sab theek ho gaya haina ab kyun ro rahi ho……tumhare baba bhi maan gaye" but her tears just don't stop. Finally, he says "main ye bilkul bardasth nahi karunga ki meri honewali dulhan ro ro ke apni khubsurati ko kharab kar le…no, I want my bride's beauty totally intact, warna uski khair nahi" He repeats some of her own words. She first smiles, them blushes and looks away. He continues, "so, doc, kahan chalen, chai ki dukaan?" Suddenly she looks around, and says "Baba aur Aunty kahan hain". "Woh toh chale gaye, leaving you completely at my mercy. Not only that, you are not needed at home before 10 pm". Nidhi is surprised to see this bold naughty side of Ashu. She is about to comment on it, when she sees Ashu is suddenly lost in thoughts……
She asks, "kya soch rahe hain?"
"Kuch nahi, Baba ke baare me soch raha tha"
"Kya hua? Unki tabiyat toh theek haina"
"haan waise to theek hi hai…..lekin main ye soch raha tha ki unhe dheere dheere sab batana hoga. I mean, he does not know that you are his granddaughter and hamare baare me bhi unhe kuch nahi pata…………. Aur kal tumhare baba mere ghar pe aayenge unse hamari shaadi ki baat karne."
Nidhi thinks for a while, "I think mujhe Baba se keh dena chahiye ke 2-3 din wait karen"
Ashu too thinks for a while and says, "Nahi Nidhi ye theek nahi rahega ……woh toh aaj hi aana chahte the. Actually he was surprised ke achanaak mere Baba kahan se aa gaye. Main soch raha tha ke unhe pahle ye bata doon ki tum unki naatin ho"
"Ji ye theek rahega" Nidhi replies thoughtfully, and then adds, "Actually, hum abhi ghar chalte hain, aur milke unhe batate hain."
Ashu immediately agrees, "haan who tumse toh waise hi bahut attached ho gaye hain……… abhi ek din hua unhe ghar aaye aur kam se kam 50 baar tumhara naam le chuke hain………. Guddi ye Guddi woh"
"Toh aapko jalan ho rahi hai" Nidhi teases.
He chuckes, "arre nahi baba, mujhe jalan kyun hogi? Chalen?" and gets up.
"ji" she too gets up…… Ashu picks up the intercom and cancels all appointments for the day and they leave.
Nidhi keeps chattering the whole way just talking about anything and everything, and jumping swiftly from one topic to another. Ashu silently enjoys her chatter and before they realize it, they are home. Nidhi is surprised, "Hum pahunch bhi gaye? Aur main poora rasta bolti hi rahi!" She looks at an amused Ashu and pouts, "aapne mujhe roka kyon nahi"
"kaise rokta, itne dino baad tumhara non-stop radio sunne ko mila – Nidhi express radio station kaafi dino se mere car radio me nahi aata tha"
She pouts even more….. "aap mujhe chida rahe hain?" "arre nahi baba, ab andar chalen?"
She nods and they both get out of the car and walk towards the door. Nidhi stops at the door and is lost in thoughts and smiles yearningly. Ashu is puzzled for a few seconds and then smiles knowingly, "Nidhi kya tum bhi vohi soch rahi ho jo main soch raha hoon"
Nidhi comes out of her dreamworld, "ji aap kya soch rahe hain"
"Yehi ke ab vo din door nahi jab tum meri dulhan banker is darwaze se enter karogi" She blushes as he continues, "tum bhi yehi soch rahi thi na?" She nods blushingly. Ashu decides to tease her some more.
"while we are at it, let me ask you something, would you prefer the Indian way of entering my house as my bride or the western way?" Nidhi is confused, "Ji? Western way?"
Ashu says with fake innocence on his face, "yes Nidhi, you know na in the west the groom picks his bride in his arms and carries her over the threshold." It was then that Nidhi realizes his meaning and feels a huge blush coming on, but she manages to control it and decides to tease him in return.
"Actually the western way would be better, lekin I doubt if my groom would have the guts to carry it off in front of everyone…….. "
"Are you challenging me Nidhi?"
"Yes, if you think so"
"It's a bet, then" She nods agreeingly.
"Lekin soch lo, if I win, tumhe vo karna hoga jo main kahoo"
"kya karna hoga?"
"woh toh main tumhe grah pravesh ke baad hi bataaoonga- kabhi bhi kuch bhi ho sakta hai" He looks at her challengingly. She is curious and a bit scared……….he was behaving too boldly today, but she put on a brave face and said, "done"
"great" he seems too happy making her all the more nervous. She says "mujhe kaafi der se aapse kuch poochna tha"
"Haan poocho na, why are you hesitating?"
How am I going to put my question into words, she wondered. "Woh ……who…… aaj aap kuch differently behave ……..mera matlab…." She is clearly uncomfortable. He understands and comes nearer to her but doesn't actually touch her and says huskily, "kaise behave kar raha hoon?" She turns beetroot red and tries to get back, but he suddenly holds her waist, and continues his sweet torture, "Batao na, kaise behave kar raha hoon". She shouts suddenly, "Baba" and he immediately leaves her and looks around in alarm, to find no one, and she laughs loudly. He too smiles indulgently, then suddenly turns serious, and says, "Sach kahoon Nidhi toh aaj se pahle jab hum milte the toh mujhe yakeen hi nahi hota tha ke you are really mine…….. I mean I never doubted our feelings or our love, but kahi na kahi ek dar tha, ek uncertainly thi, that is why I was afraid of showing you how much I need you, how much I want you in every way. Yun kehlo e pahli baar apni kismet pe kuch bharosa ho raha hai" She is moved to tears by this and gives him a hug. He hugs her back and rings the door bell.
Little do the love birds know what has transpired in the past two hours behind that door! Though he spent just one day with Ashu at home (Ashu had taken leave the previous day to spend time with BB), BB had realized that there was something amiss – Ashu though happy at BB's return still did not seem completely happy and it seemed as if he had lost an important part of her life and the loss was killing him from inside. He had asked Ashu repeatedly yesterday as to what the matter was, but Ashu had steadfastly avoided giving him a satisfactory answer. BB was determined to get at the bottom of the matter that had cost Ashu his smile. So, this morning, as soon as Ashu left for KGH, he had accosted Armaan to tell him the truth. Though initially Armaan too tried to avoid the topic, had finally revealed everything except Nidhi's identity. After hearing everything, Baba seemed very angry. As if this was not enough, Mallika had called Baba under the pretext of inquiring about his health and talked to him at length. Just about an hour back,Mallika was just coming out of her cabin when she was utterly shocked to see Ashu publicly touching CV and Shyama's feet and then she had followed Ashu to the children's ward. Seeing and hearing the exchange between AshNi there, she got the gist of the matter. She went back to her cabin fuming and immediately called Suhasini. According to Suhasini, there was only one way to stop AshNi from uniting and that was to use BB. With this very aim, Mallika had called BB. BB had just hung up her phone, when the door bell rang. HK opened the door and AshNi walked in. Armaan is surprised to see Nidhi with Ashu, "Arre Ni……"
Ashu immediately cuts him with "Armaan, Dr. Nidhi JS me Baba ki doctor thin and ye Baba se milne aayin hain" and signals Armaan to keep quiet and that he will explain everything later. Armaan nods.
BB's face immediately lights up on seeing Nidhi. "Guddi, I m sorry, Dr. Nidhi acha hua tum aa gayi. Main tumhe miss kar raha tha kal se"
Nidhi goes over to his arm-chair and kneels down, "Baba main bhi aapko bahut miss kar rahi thi, aur ye kya Dr. Nidhi laga rakha hai? Mujhe toh aap Guddi bulate haina?"
BB gets emotional, "Lekin tu toh Dr. Nidhi haina………meri Guddi toh mujhe hamesha hamesha ke liye chhod ke chali gayi……usne mujhe maaf bhi nahi kiya.." and tears flow thru his eyes.
Nidhi is uncertain how to proceed and looks at Ashu for an indication. After thinking for a few seconds, Ashu nods slightly. Nidhi turns to BB, nervously wets her lips and says, "haan Baba, aapki Guddi toh hamesha hamesha ke liye chali gayi hain, lekin………. Aapki guddi ki ek guddi hai …….mera matlab hai aapki ek naatin hai. Kya aap ……….. kya aap usse milna chahte hain?" Nidhi was emotionally drained by now.
BB suddenly grabbed her right hand in both his hands and cried, "Tu meri guddi ki guddi ko jaanti hai? Meri naatin ko…….? Ek baar mujhe usse milade………main tere haath jodta hoon, tere pao padta….." so saying he got up and actually tried to touch her feet, when Nidhi stopped him and cried, "pl. Nanaji, aisa mat kijiye"
"Kya kaha?" BB looked at her with utter confusion and questioning eyes.
Nidhi nodded vigorously, "Ji Nanaji, main hi aapki naatin hoon"
"Tu……….." BB still could not believe it.
"Ji Nanaji, main Nandini aur Col. Yograj Verma ki beti hoon – Nidhi Verma"
BB's face showed a variety of expressions, "sachi…." Nidhi nodded again and BB enveloped her in a tight hug and tears flowed freely from both sides. Even Ashu was moved to tears and Armaan was consoling him when Nidhi shouted alarmingly, "Nanaji!!" Ashu and Armaan rushed to them and found that BB had fainted. They all immediately took him to his room and laid him on his bed. Ashu immediately, took out his hanky and rushed to the restroom to wet it. He put the wet hanky on BB's forehead and within a few seconds BB stirred and slowly opened his eyes, saying "Nidhi meri Guddi ki Guddi….." Nidhi immediately came forward, saying "Ji Nanaji main yahin hoon, aapse paas" and took his hands in hers. Ashu says, "haan Baba aapki natin yahin hai……..ab aap thodi der aaram kar lijiye, phir hum sub saath me lunch karenge." BB, who is emotionally exhausted, compliantly closes his eyes and falls asleep within seconds.
All three come out into the drawingroom and Nidhi looks questioningly at Ashu, who explains "shock reaction tha – suddenly unhe tumhari identity ke baare me pata chala isliye… I hope thodi der aaram kar lenge toh bilkul theek ho jaayenge………yaa phir………anyways thodi der me maloom pad jaayega ki is baat ka asar positive hota hai ya …..." and sighs while Nidhi nods in understanding.
Ashu is still in thoughts, when Armaan quips, "yaar Ashu, Nidhi tere saath kaise?"
Ashu looks amusedly at Nidhi, then answers, "haan yaar Armaan, ab uske Baba use apne ghar me nahin rakhna chahte toh ye kahan jaayegi"
Nidhi pouts at this and punches him playfully on his arm, "Dr. Ashutosh!" Armaan gets more confused at this, says, "Tum dono mujhse kuch toh chhupa rahe ho…….." Ashu says, "nahi Armaan, actually sab kuch itna achanak hua……." And then he reveals everything to Armaan. Armaan is delighted and hugs Ashu, then side-hugs Nidhi and says, "Toh aakhir pyaar ki jeet ho hi gayi" AshNi look at him happily
Then, suddenly, exclaims, "Oh no!..." "kya hua" Ashu is alarmed.
"Maine aaj subah Baba ko tere aur Nidhi ke baare me sab bata diya……….. matlab subah tak jo situation mujhe maaloom thi…… woh bahut pareshaan ho gaye sab jaanke aur phir Mallika ke phone se woh aur bhi pareshaan dikh rahe the pata nahi aisa kya keh diya Mallika ne unse…….aur phir tum log aa gaye aur…"
"oh no Armaan………..ye tune kya kiya" Ashu angrily shouted and almost grabbed his collar, "tujhme akkal naam ki koi cheez hai bhi ya nahi? Tujhe pata haina ki he is not well………ek saath itna sab…….. no wonder he fainted……you fool, couldn't you hold your tongue?"
Armaan was miserable, "I am really sorry Ashu, unhone mujhe majboor kar diya….."
Ashu snorts,"majboor….my foot." Then turns to Nidhi "meri kuch samajh me nahi aa raha hai……..kal tumhare baba aanewale hain Baba se hamari shaadi ki baat karne…….."
Nidhi is shaken to see this angry Ashu after a long time, "aap…..aap relax kijiye main Baba ko mana kar doongi…. We can wait till Nanaji becomes alright"

Armaan first nods miserably and then tries to avoid the situation by shaking his head. BB comes to him, catches hold of his shoulders and asks again, "main kuch poochh raha hoon Armaan – kya Nidhi wohi ladki hai?" Armaan nods while AshNi look on miserably.
BB turns towards AshNi looks at them angrily. Ashu tries, "Baba woh main aapko batane hi waala………"
"Bas Ashu, mujhe kuch nahi sunna. Tu abhi ka abhi Col. Verma ko phone laga……." "Ji theek hai Baba, kya kahoon unse" "tu sirf phone laga" Ashu, though very tense, obeys. "Ring aa rahi hai Baba" "La mujhe de" "lekin Baba…." "De mujhe". Ashu hands over the phone. After a few seconds, BB speaks into the phone,
"Hello, is it Col. Verma?... Main Ashutosh ka father bol raha hoon. Main aapse milna chahta hoon jitni jaldi ho sake……..Aap kitni der me mujhse milne aa sakte hai? Theek hai toh aadhe ghante me aa jaiye…….. nahi woh main phone pe nahi bata sakta………. Ji theek hai, I am waiting for you……." And BB hangs up the phone.
