iDubba launches iTRPS --- Article

Just when every TV Channel thought- "It's time to forget TRPs for 2 months and focus on real good content on TV".. we thought of a revolution-

Why not introduce a new TRP system which is by the people and for the people? A system which gives a clear picture of what real TV viewers want, and helps (TV) industry people in a way they never thought was possible.

Welcome to "iTRPs"- iDubba's Television Rating Points.

How it works?

• Any TV viewer from India can contribute to iTRPs (as against some handful ones who currently decide what millions of you watch on TV).
• People "Tune in" to the programs/channels they are watching using iDubba's platform.
• You can use iDubba's website, Android/iPhone apps or simply an SMS to register what you are watching (Check how to register your "Tune in" for iTRPs).
• iTRPs are calculated both Daily and Weekly and are shown in real time on ouriTRP page (as against the current weekly TRP structure).

Giving more power to real TV viewers-

• Till now everyone wondered- how TRPs are calculated, who influences these ratings and "Why this show is No. 1?". With iTRPs this will change- forever!!
• iTRP opens up a whole new system where people "Tune in" to programs they arewatching in real time- using Web and Mobile.
• What they "Tune in" to, directly influences a program's rating.
• Anyone in India (and we do mean anyone) can "Tune in". Simplest way to "Tune in" is by sending "idubba <channel name>" to 9220092200.

Why is it "revolutionary"?

• Just like in a democracy, everyone has a right to influence TRPs? Isn't it?
• It is a self-volunteered initiative, no one forces anyone to "Tune in" and because of sheer numbers (accessibility), iTRPs can never be rigged.
