and she actually had to spell it out to the completely clueless ashu...this was the cherry on the cake.
And ashu's reaction.
"How do you anticipate dreams that I had given up on in this lifetime?"
haye, these 2 are surely made for each other...
"Nidhi...I am no chauvinist. Yet, somewhere deep within, I think there is a traditional man in me. It is probably cheesy even. But every time I heard Mukesh croon, I used to fantasise that there would come a moment in my life just like this!"
He started singing in his deep voice.
Suhaag raat hain ghoonghat utha raha hoon main
Suhaag raat hain ghoonghat utha raha hoon main
Simat rahi hai tu sharma ke apni baahon mein
Simat rahi hai tu sharma ke apni baahon mein
Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayaal aata hai
Ki jaise tu mujhe chaahegi umr bhar yoohin
Uthegi meri taraf pyaar ki nazar yoohi
Oh goodness...this is the ultimate SR song imo. in fact i was thinking of a way to include this on Ashni's SR in my ff... chalo good in a way that u used it...ab mujhe apna dimaag nahi kharab karna padega...frankly, their SR is so far awa in my ff but already break into a sweat when think i have to write SR.
"You are my dream come to life and you make even long buried dreams come to life...even dreams that I had never dreamt...don't ever leave me, Nidhi..I don't think there would be breath left in my body to raise a monument to our love!"
just loved this line
"I am no great believer in tradition or rituals. I think our love supersedes all of this. And yet, it suddenly feels so different. As if some unknown dimension has been added to make our feelings even keener! This intimacy is not new and yet suddenly, it feels so. I don't know how and I don't know why but it feels like we are coming together in a whole new way today!"
These lines are so true...we may claim that we are very modern or that we dont believe in rituals and traditions...but there seeped deep into our subconscious and they do make a huge impact.
Ashutosh moved back to kiss her tenderly on her maang that he had filled with vermillion just a few hours ago. He picked up the locket on her chain and touched it to his forehead and then his lips. He did the same to the ring that bore his name.
Simply loved this begining of their touching...
"If I flaunt, then so do you. I am confident enough of myself, Ashutosh. I do not feel branded or chained. These are symbols that I sport with pride for they do not make me less than who I am. Yes, I admit without reservation that I am yours just as you are mine, If you have power over me, then so do I. This is no duel!"
I am totally fida over these dialogues...dont have any other words to describe
Clothes seemed to dissolve rather than being torn off in a hurry. It was all so seamless.
Loved this line...too good
and the way they easily settled into a routine - excellent piece of writing
Coming to the question u asked aftr ch-14, no they did not do anything wrong at all. AshMal never had a marriage at all, or maybe it was a marriage in the begining... but as time went, become more of an arrangement based on convenience, and even that arrangement had lost its sanctitty the momenr ashu asked for divorce and mallu refused. In essense mallu has become the 'woh'
