Just imagine this...

A normal husband, eve if he is as prinicipled and humane as Ashu, would have pulled the girl onto his lap..hugged her tight and told her that he was hers and hers alone...and she had no need to fear...and that the past was a bad dream...and the present would be nothing like that...if he had cuddled her and said all this to her and reassured her, she would not have felt so insecure...but he is unable to do that...because he has insecurities of his own...what a muddle!

Fully appreciate your pov..and quite obviously every woman would feel that way...but every woman also has to deal with in-laws, extended family etc who also have claims on her husband's time...as I see it, Nidhi has never had to share...being an only child, she has always been the centre of everyone's life...her father, her DB etc have made her the centre of their existence...here is a situation where she has to, for the first time, share with someone...please don't misunderstand this to mean anything else...I am only saying that Ashutosh did have a relationship wtib Mallika that had preceded what he shared with Nidhi...so thie clash was bound to arise even if Mallika had been the most normal of human beings and not obsessed with Ashutosh...aren't women jealous of even the male friends of their husbands...they feel they give them more time...here the gender angle and Mallika's obsession and past acts have complicated matters further...

So far as Ashutosh is concerned, he is a novice and completely out of depth when it comes to relationships...he is unable to understand what triggers off Nidhi's insecurities...for him, things are black and white and he can't see the grays...yesterday, all he was trying to do was reassure her that Mallika was not a threat...that she wished them well and did not want to come between them...and that his support had been purely on humanitarian grounds and past friendship...but he was unable to put it in the right words and made a mess of it...communication has never been his greatest strength..

The bottomline for me is the issue here is not love or trust...it is only the ability to see things from each other's perspective..if they achieve that, then they are good!

Not everybody beats their chest when in turmoil...certain things are left to interpretation...Ashutosh's reaction when Mallika invited him for tea and said she was happy to have her friend back spoke volumes...I am not defending anyone here...just trying to say we need to read the subtexts...that is what makes this show special for me...that it forces me to think and understand for myself rather than laying everything in the open...and with regard to being normal, I think that most of us would do that...even if we met somebody whom we hated and who had been mean and horrible to us, we would exchange courtesies at the very least,...right or wrong, social conditioning has taught us to be conceal our true feelings most of the time!

Sajani...this is what I just said...what she needed was a hug and reassurance...not even the cessation of help to Mallika...if he had explained his compulsions to her and told her that Mallika needed their help, I believe Nidhi would have done it...she is not a petty person...all she wants is her husband...she is not looking to settle scores!

See, the show is very subtle and leaves a lot to the audience's interpretation...I think that is its strength and its weakness...the turmoil is there in flashes...but it is never underlined...the taken aback look on Ashutosh's face when Mallika said she was glad to have got back her friend was one such flash!

Everyone has done it, Tanu...from her father to DB to Anji to Rohan...she has always been the kid...Ashutosh himself did it when it came to the sherwani, godi and HM issues...

Now she is not able to understand why he does not respect her pov...she does not understand that he is not disrespecting them wantonly but circumstances are making him disregard them to an extent...

Yes Sajani...they need this,...they need time alone...they never got this after their marriage...they need to have their fill of each other so neither complains that the other does not want them enough 😉
