My changing ambitions in life: Fun Post

I dont blame Nidhi for not able to decide what she wants.. when I look back into the pages of my own life... I found I was the same too... Let me tell you in detail...

I was so fascinated by my teacher when I was in 2nd and 3rd standards and everyday at home it was only the teacher-teacher game... and needless to say, I was always the teacher, holding a cane... I was so fascinated ...she was fearless even when she beat Monty ( our neighborhood bully, 2 years older than me)..😍. So it was decided, one day I would beat children...ermm..teach and become 2nd standard teacher...

Then I started attending high school... My mother was nothing less than a lady Hitler when it came to our study hours... There was another exam at home after I finish the paper and come home... YIIEEKKKSS... Mom had a real knack of catching me whenever I lied... But...but... at the same time, I found her doing nothing...
all her duty was simple household work, then listen to radio..thats all..no studies in her life... God!! How I wished to grow then and there and my ultimate goal was to become my mom and NEVER..EVER..open a book...

Went on to attend college... BOY!! our maths prof was a judicious mixture of Newton and Einstein... nothing less... So down to earth... yet, he had all the passion for his work and his knowledge was unbeatable and intelligence... oof.. I havent seen such a person again... This prof made me take a steely oath..that I will become a teacher in maths / physics and thats it... ( Later in the life, I had a teaching stint just because of that prof and I love that period)...

Ofcourse, destiny had its own say on my ambitions and I held various other duties all the time but never a medical professional... No one in our near
& dear have done anything near this Biology... All my medical knowledge (or should I say Information) was just due to my visits to hospitals on different occasions and now.. for the past few months.. my main source has been KTLK...

Tuesday's epi is making me think more about this profession... It was clear with other professions, that if I dont have enough experience, knowledge and qualifications, I wouldnt grow... But here, till date whatever Dr.Ranganath was doing day-in and day-out, Nidhi has mastered in one day...VOW!! She is at par with any other seniors and even more than them ..she could actually contribute for a serious surgery case and challenges too.. (mentally of course!!)😉

If administration of the hospital is this easy, there is another post easier than this...😛 being chief surgeon... just flip through files... sit on the bench outside and wait for your wife with an unfinished dabba at your side.. ...right from the helper and wardboy will give you suggestions about whom should you give what work...😛

THATS IT!!! I am going to be a doctor now... come what may!! Now I have checked the eligibility... one should pass 12th and above 17 years of age... I am both...
😉

So, IF Forumiites!!! Here comes another future doc!!!

As a doctor please share your opinion about an intern's role in a hospital(in general}. if you don't mind. I am curious to know after watching yesterday's epi.Thank you.

🤣 Super duper...indeed its extremely easy to become a chief surgeon..all u hv to do is tell 'Raja-Titli' stories wit ur intern...Talk about 'the intern who taught u how to live life at a medical conference' ...so go for it 👍🏼

Btw abs loved ur description of ur growing years...😆

Radhika please dont take whats shown in KTLK as standard. KTLK has shown Drs in such a poor plight, ki ab kya kahein...some instances:
1. Interns work round the clock and always assist a sr doc. They dont take independent decisions.
2. Interns are so busy, so busy that even a leisurely bath/a good night's sleep is luxury. They dont have time to co-ordinate bangles, hair accessories, hair styles and so on..shopping and Disco ke liye time nahin milta. You will not find an intern with long hair because maintenance of long tresses is a time consuming process.
3. Internship ke baad hi someone becomes a Dr and can practise independently.
4. Sr Docs ke baal dhoop mein safed nahin huye hote...they dont need to learn how to handle children from an intern (fresher out of medical college)
5. It is common for an intern to do a lot of admin work.
Basically an intern is like a trainee..assigned to a Senior Doctor...and rotated across the hospital with different wards...Thats all that I can say. All this is from my own experience about 20 odd years back...
Hope this helps.

Future Dr. Mudra funny post. Liked your trip down memory lane. A feeling of nostalgia hits you as many of us have gone through these emotions.
As Chief Surgeon you get unlimited 'off-duty' time to pursue matters of heart

Malvika, am so glad we have someone like you on the forum...otherwise we might all be wondering about things...

Am no doctor...but even I realize that an intern cannot possibly compete with a senior surgeon... if I am right, there is a certain amount of intuition involved in diagnostics maybe...but I would think there is a lot of theoretical knowledge that is to be gained through higher education besides of course the experience gained by years of practice...medicine is not a purely inborn skill like singing or painting or something...even those skills get honed by training...but medicine is primarily dependent on training ...

The same points that they are trying to convey on the show can be achieved through other means...it requires a bit more of an effort..wonder why they are not pitching in with that;..and the hospital scenes are not well done at all...I wish they would focus on that...

I understand that AShutosh can be inspired by Nidhi's zest for live, her compassion and her bedside manner...he might find her truly brilliant even...but certainly not to the point where he needs to learn from her as to how to do his job!

Yesterday, I was appalled to see a peon adivisng Dr Ashutosh on Nidhi's workload and finally, AShutosh sitting in the hospital corridor waiting for his wife...Dr AShutosh has been a dignified and sophisticated man...I hope they keep reminding themselves of the fact...we are unable to forget even if they have!
