There is no story without a problem. I understand your concern,but Ashutosh, Nidhi and Mallika are not your run -of-the-mill characters every soap is filled with, they are real people and hence complex people. Ashutosh has known Mallika longer, much longer than he had been in love with Nidhi. I do not know if you had great friendships. I have had. If somebody has been a friend for 12 years, he or she is not an ordinary person, he or she becomes a soulmate. Ashutosh and Mallika are best of friends and are the same age hence they understand each other better than Ashutosh and Nidhi understand each other. As lovers, you do not need to understand each other, you just get attracted and fall in love. Love is blind as they say. But you develop a friendship over a long period of time. You choose your friends, you do not choose your lovers. Love chooses you.Do not measure Ashutosh and Nidi with the scale of the predictable, formula relationship yards fed by ordinary soaps, try to understand them, otherwise you will always be disappointed.

Reading this only story comes to my mind is story of our beloved Ashni. In the . if you go through mainly the bold part you just can feel one relationship.---its only and only Ashni. Ashu was not at all sure for any relationship. He was scare to be in relationship. After Nidhi came to his life he started in believing relationship. His fear vanished and he is ready to be with a girl 18 yrs younger than him. He was sure abt whom & what he wants in life. Ashni have their insecurities as parts of their soul, exactly as written in the def. I am sure Ashni is going to heal Mallu prob. as well.
One thing I want to add when every body accepted the news of Ashu' death after the accident its only Nidhi didn't believed because its her soul that could feel the presense of Ashu somewhere in this world. But Mallu was more than 100% sure of death news.
From the above def. do you guys feel Ashu & Mallu are soul mates from any angle? If mallu is his soulmate how come he was not happy being mallu around ?Living kille me bandh sad life? Nidhi steps in his life and everything changed. 42 years Ashu's soul was waiting for his mate, Nidhi.
From Mallu's POV Ashu is her love interest. So conflict between friendship and love/marriage does not stands here. If Mallika is just a friend then its not a problem but here the situation is totally different.
Anyway for me Ashni are soulmates and separating soulmates is a sin. So, if KPji try to do so then...😡
