This serial seems to be the one which we all love to hate. They really take us on a roller-coaster ride. 
One epi, where we see some progress and bang the next one we fall 10 steps backward.
Agree that it's such weak characterization. The characters who had such promise seem to be mere caricatures today.
Ashu an angry, cynical, 'not so young man', sees the brighter side of life when a girl sprung into his life.

Yesterday, I was hoping he would give the house back to Mallu as a wedding gift.
Nidhi- Was shown as a bubbly, energetic and mature girl. But now I really think she was only infatuated with Ashu. She seems to care more for Rohan. Anyway their intelligent quotient is on par, so they are a match made in kindergarten. 
Rohan's characer is the only one which has shown growth - began as a visitor - extended as a friend- retained as an obsessive lover.
Mallu's character is the female version of Rohan and will be back after a break to ruin AshNI. 
CB has a split personality. He is a very broad-minded parent

She turns with the tide and so predicting her is impossible.
Armaan - Here's one person who has been the pillar for Ashu and slowly, he's swaying with the wind to.. 
With his research on 'Move On' and Age-gap. He actually scoffed, when Baba asked what was wrong with his son. Now the 18 years seems to make a difference. Wasn't he the one to push Ashu into confessing.
Dadi Bua has been consistent in 
her screeching and outdated ideas. That's one character I think even he CVs are terrified of messing with. š
