Neither film did well at the box office, but both were appreciated later because the script was unique.

A bit like what KTLK is now- not really raking in the TRPs, but it gets critics awards and reams of news space because the concept is in uncharted territory.

But aek.. th audiences hv matured... we hv seen... age gap movies n shows doing well.. KTLK lacks a lot in terms of direction/ story telling etc etc... so KTLK not getting TRPs is not purely coz of audience thingy whereas.. Lamhe n Karz was th audiences undoing..

@aekiel: Another fave of mine.. KARZ.. I love the movie and yeah... Totally unbelievable premise... Just like Lamhe.. Sounds corny if you just hear the story.. Just like Lamhe... But when u watch it you forget everything ...all logic, all argument..because of the way it's presented and portrayed!!! Wonderfully acted ..great script!!! Thanks for mentioning this!!!

Deepa u know in a lot of the M & Bs have this age gap romance...i used to read a lot of Carole Mortimer...in her books 99% of the guys were 18 to 20 years older than the girl...and i used to devour M&Bs in college...used to read almost 2 a day...so for me love story really does not have anything to do with age...so was never shocked by Lamhe or nor any other movies or shows which have big age difference love.

@ Lizzie...Ooo Karz...love it...Rishi Kapoor was so cute it in and the songs were WOW. Have u watched the original " The reincarnation of Peter Proud "

KTLk is not way early of its time...DK was ...and yet it was a huge success and still remembered...KTLK lacks story telling ,narration and execution

Lamhe one of my all time favorite love stories...stood out coz of its sheer brliiant story telling execution ,screenplay and acting...Sridevi Anil were pallavi, pooja and viren...Sridevi carried the movie forward with such effortless ease...that you could identify both with mother and daughter in a span of 2 and half hours or so...pallavi's maturity, pooja's devotion, viren's infatuation then aloofness...everything was conveyed convincingly in those hours

nidhi and pooja maybe similar in their persona per say...but there is still huge difference...coz pooja's emotions ,love had depth...from the moment that little school girl would rush home to meet kunwarji only to be told he is sleeping..she waited at the doorstep so that she does not miss him and he walks past her...the way she runs after his car screaming kunwarji ...your heart went out to that girl...hence when she grew up soaked in that love ,her eyes sparkling ,her heart beating for kunwarji ,a section of the audience lapped it up with ease...

where nidhi is concerned the story telling the falling in love was totally goofed up...the character lacked depth ...instead of convincing us abt her love it raised questions abt how why...very poor narration on the part of the story teller...

in fact at this stage she looks in love more than initial stage...coz the story and quality of the show seem to be improving

and yes i do agree with all of you here...abt the striking similarity of many things between lamhe and KTLK...if only it could tug our hearts as well like Lamhe did...i still live in hope

tanu thanks for the fantastic post and a very beautiful morning to one and all here🤗🤗

thanks...tanu...fr the beautiful post and lovely caps!!!😊...
LAMHE ws a cult movie...one of my fevourites too...

as u mentioned thre r lot of similarities btwn Pooja(Sri) and Nidhi(KK)...very bubbly...mishivous...vivacious...
MB's charecter Dr. Ashu...also like Veeren(Anil Kapoor) very much dignified...sensible...and not much open...kind of restrained...
i like such charecters very much...u just fall in love such portrayals...

i Lamhe also there ws a age gap of 18 yrs. btwn the leads...if i am not wrong...same in KTLK also...(what a similarity!!!!!!😊)...
Sri is a superb and what a versatile actress she is...
i think she is doing one movie called Hinglish/Vinglish...by Gauri Shinde(famous director Balki's wife...Paa and Cheeni Kum fame...)...
