Chapter 37: The sin!

"Open up Ashu!" Armaan cried. Ashutosh didn't restrain himself from displaying his annoyance.."yeah.. coming!" he cried. Nidhi allowed him to get up and sat chuckling beside the bag! "Wats up armaan!" he cried opening the door to him! "thts was I wanted to ask u?" he replied. Ashutosh rolled his eyes at Nidhi! Nidhi chuckled and blushed simultaneously! Armaan warned him,"I wudnt allow u anything before mrg.. enclosed in a closed bedroom.. have u any shame!" he asked. "Shut up.. thrs kaka too living in this house! And I m with her for 2 days starting from tomorrow!" Ashutosh whisphered back! And Armaan gave a disapproving grunt! Nidhi chuckled at their antics!

Armaan came in to offer Nidhi some advice instead. "Well... well.. my Ashu jaan has come a long long way indeed!" he uttered gliding inside as Ashutosh went out to get something from the kitchen! Nidhi offered him seat beside her on bed! "so?"he asked. She blushed doing up her pony once again. "I dont know how Ashu got so lucky!" he commented giving a big comical sigh and nodding dramatically and Nidhi cudnt help chuckling even while feeling extremely shy! It was first time tht she was accepting her r'ship with him so openly to one of his friend! "No really.. i have been trying my luck since i was 15!" he rued. Nidhi almost burst into a laugh! "guess God forgot to make another Nidhi for me.. i think he follows his rule diligently wen it comes to art.. thr can only b one masterpiece!" Nidhi blushed in embarrassment.."u r flattering me!" He laughed,"thts because u jst flew in from the first opportunity available like some naughty butterfly and before he knew he was chasing after this beautiful creature who had breached his walls!" he joked! Nidhi laughed with him. "I had tried so hard to brk his shell.." he said seriously. Nidhi thot she saw a glitter of tear in his eyes but he looked away. "you luv him so much!"nidhi asked,"he has told me abt ur f'ship with him.. u r a very true friend.." "tell him tht!"he cried,"he seems to take no notice of my virtues!" Nidhi cudnt help chuckle again! "I mst thnk for wat u did for him," she said,"and so i m gonna keep ur gift of frock!" she said with a naughty chuckle! "really?" he laughed,"u r a darling!" he hugged her dearly,"i had specially order made for u so tht u can fit in tht!"be "Wat?" Nidhi cudnt help laugh!"u crsly i wud wear it!" she cudnt believe.. "being in fashion industry and learning psychology of woman for their attires.. i know one thing thy wud want to try anything once! and wat a grt joy thy find if it fits thm perfectly.. even if its frock" Nidhi laughed. He seriously was something! "so Nids.. u know if u have any complaints against him u know wer to register thm.. rite" he offered his 24x7 open crying-shoulder service, as he termed it! Nidhi laughed again and cried,"My name is Nidhi! wen will u learn tht!" he winked getting up,"its hard for oldies to learn new thngs!" "U r not old.. u r quite young.. by heart!"she cried after him as he reached the door. He bowed to her in a gentlemanly fashion,"thank you m'am!" Nidhi cudnt help chuckle!

Ashutosh entered with coffees as he left,"urs is on dining the cried to him. "huh.. i feel outcasted!" Armaan cried disgruntled! "Oh call him in" Nidhi cried. "No need to sympathize with him.. he is getting back for wat he did all these years.. u dont know how flirt he was and infact is.. its his time to feel left out!"he explained. "oh..thts bad!" Nidhi cried taking her cup! "and besides.. i wanna spend more time with u..b4 u dont find anytime for me!" he complained. "oh.. bt v r going to b together for 2 days!" "thy r not enuf for the way u've ignored me this whole week!" he settled beside her and again brot down her pony! she blushed straihtening her hair! "Wats up with tht?"he asked. "With wat?" "with u keeping a lot more busier even thn me!" "oh.. u r feeling jealous!"she cried mischeviously.. "surely.. i m the senior here with 18 yrs of my career and the most busiest and workaholic person alive on this earth.. and suddenly his intern is here challenging his position... tut..tut.. cant bear!" Nidhi cudnt help chuckle.. he looked too cute! She had never seen his this side of persona much! the more informal and casual one! "i thot i shud make u proud!" she replied playing with her cup. "Nidhi.. work or anything shud b done to make oneself proud and not others.." he explained. "do u realize its affecting ur work!" "wat?" "I had met Dr. Mehta and he confessed to me tht he fears u r losing ur focus on ur job!" "Oh! he never told me!" she cried. "U know he is a good doctor bt a very lenient one.. i m afraid u r losing more thn he sees!" Nidhi pouted,"i have been working soo hard!" "Nidhi.. working is important and not toiling! U r sapping ur energy doing nonpriority thngs.. at this stage of career, u need to focus on ur profession and plan on shaping it rather!" "so one shudnt do social service?" "its not tht Nidhi.. only a few lucky ones get opportunity to serve society with something much better.. u have talent y waste it doing wat any avrg doc can do..wen u can provide the same ppl with much more specific service by investing ur time in further studies and on a more focused approach to ur job!" he exp.lained. Nidhi listened attentively. she had never thot it tht way! She sighed,"i dont know.. i had never planned it.. it jst came to me in a spur of moment and i followed my instincts without forseeing!" "Its not wrong Nidhi.. i jst want u to channelize ur energy, time, and focus in rite direction to reap grtr benefits!" "hmmm.." she uttered. Ashutosh looked at her. Her elbow was rested on the side table and she was biting her finger while mulling over wat he had said. He had always found her pretty cute wen she sat thinking tht way.. the only difference being..thr was no pen over here to help her with her biting! He chuckled and leaned over to kiss her! Nidhi got startled and jerked backed instantly! "oh.. the door is open!" she cried in whisper trying to push him back! He pulled away disgruntledly,"how much long wud i need to wait!" he cried cutely. "may b till tomorrow!"she replied with a mischevious glint in her eyes.. and tht made Ashutosh's heart do a free cartwheeling! "remember tht!" he whisphered and she blushed. "so y calling me Ashutosh ji wen u cud've called me Ashutosh!"he asked suddenly. She looked at him.. his eyes were pretty mischevious.. He knew! "u know" she cried in a low shy voice "wat? tht i know exactly wen u feel like calling me Ashutosh" he replied so huskily in his very reverberating deep tone tht affected her somewer very deep! She lowered her eyes in shyness.. her heart starting to race a bit faster.. he understood her so well.. all her reactions to his display of luv.. her moans.. her sighs..and even her taking his name in those intimate of moments.. she blushed imparting an extreme red color to her cheeks! And wen she looked like tht, Ashutosh wud've hard time controlling himself.. he pulled her instantly up and dragged thmslves to his restroom and closed door behind him heavily! Nidhi gasped struggling in his arms! "Wat r u doing!"she cried..her heart beating miles in a second! Wat if Armaanji or kaka arrived! Her heart was fluttering with fear and on top of it, he was making her feel thrilled with his newly found passionate display of his luv tht she possibly cant ignore even if she wanted to.. He let her struggle keeping his hold tight around her till she finally gave up! "u know how u make my heart feel wen u say my name so passionately!" he whisphered over her face sendng a wave of beautiful ache thruout her body! She blushed. "please..." he urged. She looked into his eyes.. y his desirous eyes weakened her she didnt know, bt wen he looked at her like tht.. he made her want to fullfill his every wish... his words wud sound sweeter thn honey and his gaze wud completely make her spell bound and his typical masculine scent wud suddenly ooze from his body to complete the mesmerizing process.. He pressed her closer cueing his urge.. He let his warm breath tingle and persuade her on the behalf of his words.. she let herself drowned in the sensation tht his warm breath was making her skin feel! "Ashutosh.." she cudnt help herself utter.. with all the luv and this strange ache tht she had started to feel in her heart.. her heart was squeezing wanting to feel tht sweet pain more.. and his touch conveyed how he had felt at her utterance of his name.. he had squeezed her into his arms more passionately.. his face with his warm breaths was brushing all over her face tht was flushing with sudden rush of blood giving it a reddish hue making her look lot more desirable.. having taken her beauty in by stroking lightly all over her face with his lips, he let thm wait on her lips.. with their breaths striking each other rousing those subtle tender desires, thy let thmslves enjoy tht moment of intimate closeness and feeling of oneness as their temples rested against each other.. his hand caressing her thru her soft silky hair.. and her hand doing the same at his nape with his cropped up hair! Oh y did he feel such peace in her fingers.. moving tht way in his hair made him feel as if drugged by her love.. he closed his eyes and moaned with need.. she loved his moan.. smiling with luv, she stretched herself more closer to his lips to let him have her.. he stroked affectionately into her hair on the back of her head to tilt his own head to let his own lips do the ho nor..

Wat happened thn was going to make Nidhi cherish tht moment forever.. kissing in most unlikely of places..his restroom... and taking their emotions to a new level.. he had kissed her ever so gently and more so spiritually.. she was sure by tht he had embedded himself deep into her brain.. permanently.. and every neural impulse from thr on was going to originate from thr wenever he wud touch or kiss her! she had giggled with delight wen he broke the kiss! His eyes told her he had felt the same thing! He closed in on her adoringly and pecked at her reddened lips! She replied her peck and he gave her such a delightfully surprised look tht it made Nidhi blush with embarrassment! "Oh wen wud i have more of previleges!" he whisphered into her ears as he gathered her into his arms to give her a warm cuddle and squeeze her with a gentle hug! Nidhi giggled!

"oh.. r u two going to come out.. i wud need to break down this door!" Armaan cried from outside and thy jerked apart in embarrassment! Ashutosh opened the door going all red on face and Nidhi jst cudnt meet Armaan's eyes out of shyness! She rushed out immediately avoiding him completely.. while Ashutosh ran a nervous hand thru his hair and sighted unsurely.. "Well.. well.. look at my hero.. who looks like he has conquered his fort!" Armaan commented teasing him mercilessly! Nidhi cudnt help chuckle blushingly as she reached the door and turned and laughed at Ashutosh who shrugged and rolled his eyes at her.. Oh.. he wasnt going to spare him with any lesser of his extreme teases! He poked him in his chest wen Nidhi was gone,"can u not behave at least in front of her!" he rebuked him. "oh.. really.. and wat abt u two.. who r behaving so shamelessly around a lone bachelor like me in this house!" he cried. "u know how it pains my little heart!" he cried doing his drama! "u jst shut up.. y do u want to make her feel embarrassed..!" Ashutosh whisphered back.. "huh.. and let ur furtherchances spoil!.. i know how selfish and clever u r" he cried back! Ashutosh chuckled and sighed deeply.."armaan i feel like i m back into my young days.. i havnt felt so in this long years of my life.. not even in my younger years.." he smiled with contentment! Armaan smiled back with affection understandingly! "I m sooo happy for u my jaan!" he cried and hugged him dearly! Ashutosh hugged him back with equal affection,"Armu i want u to marry yaar.. its enuf... u r missing out on the most satisfying thing in ur life!" he suggested. "wow u called by my childhood name after such a long time.. i m overwhelmed.." he broke the hug and acted as if to wipe of tears.. Ashutosh nodded his head.. he and his dramas! "i m serious!" "puhlease.. not everybody is luck to get a girl like Nidhi in their life.." "at least u shud try and give urself a chance at some serious commitment..!" he cried. "okay.. okay.. i will try.. bt its hard to get back from the long road of flirtation tht i had went!" "please!" Ashutosh cried. and Armaan winked at him reassuringly!

Later Ashtosh dropped Nidhi home promising to pick her, angie up in the morning in taxi to reach Rohan's house. Nidhi had a brief talk with her baba tht night. her baba informed her abt him knowing the convention incident. Nidhi had asked for a sorry. Her baba had hugged her and advised to share everything with him no matter how shameful it mite b..he wanted her to rest assure tht he wud b always by her side no matter wat and his trust on her was huge thn tallest of the mountains. She had hugged him back feeling overwhelmed and told him yet again tht she never felt tht she didnt have a mom and tht he was best dad in this world! She kissed him good nite and he gazed after her as she retired to her room. He sighed! in a few days, his daughter wud b out making her own life with Dr. Ashutosh. And for the first time, he cud feel pain tht Nidhi's nana and his wife's baba wud've gone thru! His eyes yet again cried with guilty tears.. if only he cud ask his forgiveness.. bt he didnt know if he wud ever have tht privilege! Sometimes once arrogance and self-centeredness takes u so far on tht road tht it make it almost impossible to find a path back to redemption! He sighed and retired to his room!

Nxt morning, the two girls were giggling outside her house. Nidhi was dressed in yet again pretty mini-skirt over a knee length pants tht she had worn on Angies insistance.. more tht her, she was more excited to stump Dr. Ashutosh every now and thn! She had remarked she shud get her own boyfriend to experiment and she had blushed! Nidhi was astounded.. her best buddie Angie had blushed and this she remembered was second time tht she had done tht.. on prodding, she finally let out her secret tht she was being stalked by an admirer! On Nidhi's voicing cautious concern, she had reassured her tht he was sweet and cute sorts of.. coz he showered her with all sort of cute gifts which she had kept it without letting him force on any conditions on her to his dismay.. Angie had giggled at tht.. and tht he had pecuilar way of stalking her.. he stalked her at his own time and leisure! She had giggled again. On questioning more, she had confessed tht she had not taken interest in knowing him any further except for accepting his gifts.. coz he was a huge flirt and thts how thy had met initially.. he was trying to save himself from his ex-girlfriend infront ofhis current girlfriend and had conviniently made her his wife to avoid thr sandals amidst a restaurant full of ppl! Nidhi had gasped with shock! angie had chuckled and replied tht i too was shocked bt thn cudnt help admire his guts.. "i mean.. he had guts to make a stranger girl his wife who was surely going to give him sandals later on... and his confidence and cleverness tht he wud go unscathed s from his girlfriends wrath with his charming tricks .. and to my surprise he actually did.. and miraculously he didnt get my sandals either.. i jst cudnt stop myself laugh at his antics.. he surely knows his ways with females.. i mst say he is pretty charming and impressive fellow.. bt not one whom u can get serious with!" Angie had remarked. Nidhi had advised her to give him a chance.. he didnt sound tht bad afterall. if not get serious, at least she hoped she made an attempt to know him.. who knows wat can click betn thm! Angie had shrugged.. "i dont know ... i m not intersted in boyfriends rite now.. i want to keep my focus on my career!" she had said and Nidhi had left her at tht! Surely if things wer meant to happen betn thn thy wud no matter wat.. jst like it had happened with her and Ashutosh ji! she blushed and Angie had nudged her with mischeif before Ashutosh arrived. And she cudnt help blush at Angie's mischeviously tinkling eyes tht kept roving over thm meaningfully! She was literally embarrassed at her behavior,"u r gonna make him uncomfortable Angie!" she cried. Angie giggled. "oh U r worst!" She cried! Angie giggled again and nudged gently,"okay okay..i will leave u two lovebirds alone.. all to yourselves '. if thts wat u want..!"she winked. Nidhi cudnt keep the redness off her cheeks.

It wasnt as if thy hadn't been alone together before.. bt still' bt still when she thot abt it, the anxiety returned! more so coz thr "alone together" comprised a lot more thn jst being together! Angie nudged and danced her eyes and Nidhi cudnt help the shyness take over her as their most recent "alone together" episode blushed her cheeks and lowered her eyes! Soon thy reached at Rohan's house to pick him up and as expected he was predictably late! Angie hopped off the car swearing! Ashutosh was shocked! Nidhi giggled as thy alighted and stood by the car parked by the side of the road beside the gate of the house where thy saw watching Angie rush in!

"She is some girl!" Ashutosh commented. "yeah.. she has an admirer too!" "really" "yeah" "oh..a secret admirer?" "No.. a I-do-not-want-to-know admirer!" "Wat?" Nidhi chuckled. "Its complicated.. will explain u in detail some time!" she explained. "well.. let me check out the route with the driver thn.." he pulled out a map, a little notepad, a pen from his bag and Nidhi looked at him oddly! "its called planning Nidhi!" he nod his head,"u know me!" he cried as he saw her giving I-know look! He thn called out the driver and he followed the orders obediently. As she looked over him, Rohan's mom called her in! Ashutosh nodded at her and she went in!

"Oh.. its long since u two have visited us!.. shame!" cried Rohan's dadi! Nidhi explained her how busy thy wer, Angie with her new course and Nidhi with her internship! Dr. Ashutosh entered after a while and Nidhi excitedly introduced him as her senior and mentor and that he was best neurosurgeon in town and had been dean of KGH for long now! Rohan's parents were intrigued with his presence there and with Nidhi's apparent interest in him. Rohan cud very well read his mom's curious face. And this was the most inappropriate time to throw Nidhi's bombshell on thm, he knew! So before his mom cud enquire any further, he reminded thm thy wer running out of time and thy needed to start as early as possible. So after some reluctant quick snacks and tea, thy all finally gathered up to leave. Rohan's mom and dad came to see thm off. Rohan's dadi jst waved at thm from her wheelchair!

Rohan ran ahead of Ashutosh and Angie dragging Nidhi with him on the pretext of putting his bags in the dekke! Ashutosh looked at him with jealousy! Ashutosh and Angie had jst reached the stairs when thy heard Rohan's mom's cry,"Oh! Dr. Ashutosh u too r going with these kids?" She finally cudnt help asking! Nidhi and Rohan had by the time reached the car and were out of earshot range! Dr. Ashutosh jst nodded in yes! "Oh its gud.. its so nice to have someone like us around these kids.. these kids.. thy dont like to go for such outing with thr parents.. we r not tht fit thy say!" Rohan's dad laughed and added," bt arnt ur kids joining in? " he asked genuinely! Angie looked at Dr. Ashutosh nervously! The situation was pretty awkward and insulting! Bt Dr. Ashutosh jst smiled back and nodded a No politely! Thy looked surprised and Angie cud no longer hold it back. "He has no kids coz he is yet unmarried. Infact, he will b getting engaged shortly uncle!" she replied! "Oh.. Oh.. congratulations Dr. Ashutosh.. I see its hard to find a right match for a perfect man..bt its never too late" Rohan's dad laughed heartily!"I presume she is a doctor!" "yes!" replied Angie. The determination in her voice alarmed Ashutosh. He signaled her to stop, but she didn't! "And infact she is someone u know very well.. Nidhi.. Dr. Nidhi Verma!"

Rohan's parents were left stunned and speechless and thy heard a shrill disappointed cry of Rohan's dadi from the inside of the house! She bawled,"how cud Saroj even agree to such outrageous match" Saroj was first name of Nidhi's dadi bua and thy wer very good friends. "At his age.. cudnt he find a girl of his own age!" Rohan's dad looked alarmingly at Dr. Ashutosh, who just chose to look unaffected! "oh wat a fine girl Nidhi is.. so young and naive! i m sure he mst've lured her.. its so easy to tempt a girl these days.. poor girl.. Oh..cant Verma c he is thinking from the wrong part of his anatomy!" she shrieked. "Oh Please Ma.." cried Rohan's dad instantly and immediately apologized to Dr. Ashutosh. Ashutosh didn't knew wat had hit him.. whatever it was it had hit him hard and rough! Bt he stayed composed and walked away politely! Angie ran after him fidgeting with her fingers.."I..I am so sorry Dr. Ashutosh.." she apologized. "No..its..its not ur fault!" the hit seemed to have affected him. He breathed in deeply to control himself. "please Nidhi doesn't need to learn abt any of this thing..please" he requested. Angie looked at him unsurely,"Bt she needs to know.." "u know its her mistake.."she added in a low voice. He jst kept mum as they walked out of the gate. "please.." he requested again as thy neared the dekke. Rohan had been nursing his ribs with some pain-like features on his face and Nidhi was held in half hug by him with apologetic features written on her face! A whip of jealousy suddenly lashed on him over his very fresh wounds! He smiled hiding thm nevertheless! "I think we shud start now,"he suggested and thn on to take his seat beside the driver! Rohan offered to take the front seat but he declined. Nidhi observed something amiss with him bt felt it was due to this uncomfortable situation he was in! She was so unaware of the whirlwind tht was spinning his mind!

As he looked out of the window thoughtfully, those harsh words rang in his ears repeatedly. "he is thinking from the wrong part of his anatomy!" It echoed! He sighed. Even Nidhi's dadi bua had same thots abt him bt her words wernt this coarse and hurtful at least! Can thy not see anything beyond lust in his r'ship with Nidhi? Was it so wrong for him to have a girl half of his age? Wat he thot as something very sacred and pure was seen as sinful and lewd by the society. He was shattered by the thot. He had always conducted himself appropriately and never let anybody question his moral integrity! From the unknown background he belonged to, being orphan meant being untrustworthy. It was'nt till Dr. Mathur vouched for his integrity, tht ppl actually started trusting and respecting him. The name and respect he had earned today was hard earned! It had pained him immensely wen baba had rejected him. And it pained him today to hear wat he had heard! He stared out of window blankly! So lost was he in his thots tht he didn't hear Nidhi calling him to join in the fun! Wen Nidhi enquired after him in the break, he cudnt face her. Nidhi got worried as to wat had suddenly started to bother him. Looking at her worried face, he tried to gather himself, bt he cudnt. He remained aloof and reticent. Wen Nidhi urged him to join thm again, he chose to take a nap instead. Nidhi allowed him to be with himself. The thing tht she was afraid most was him getting into a shell again and pushing him mite jst risk tht! She sighed.
