Chapter 20: The chocolates!

10 minutes later, thy wer back in his cabin. Thy had safely and securely made it to his cabin and Nidhi was grinning triumphantly with excitement. He chuckled and started gathering his things.. "Y?" cried she. "Nidhi.. I do need to go home rite.. its not my regular shift..remember" "Oh!"she cried disappointedly. "so tomorrow morning still on or r u tired from our little adventure today..?"he asked teasing her. "certainly not!"she exclaimed and they went out together. She bid Dr. Ashutosh good and bye and started looking for Dr. Mallika.. Thy had a nice little excuse ready for Dr. Mallika.. tht she had a little stomach upset and so Dr. Ashutosh had permitted her to have a little rest in his cabin! Nidhi chuckled mischeviously.. Dr. Mallika was so gonna fume.. ! The first place she wud've checked was his cabin, Dr. Ashutosh had told her!
And she was so right! Dr. Mallika's expression told it all but she held her chuckle until after she had left! This hide and seek from the world was fun! And she blushed as she thot abt Dr. Ashutosh but indeed this was hospital and she needed to focus on her job.. She will save this mooning for her post-hospital daydreaming of Dr. Ashutosh. She chuckled blushingly at herself and busied herself with her professional tasks.
In the morning, Nidhi was lying on bed trying to catch up on some sleep after thr little adventurous nite! But she found something wriggling in her ears teasing her tantalizingly and she gave a suppressed cry of joy as the feeling of pleasant sensation from thr adventurous night came back to her. She caught hold of the hand that was doing it and almost thot it was Dr. Ashutosh's before she heard Angie chuckling heavily! She threw her eyes wide open..to confirm tht indeed she wasn't dreaming and it was actually Angie who was teasing her and not Dr. Ashutosh! "Angie!,"she gave a soft cry and hit her with her pillow. Angie chuckled some more and asked her teasingly,"whom wer u dreaming of Dr. Nidhi Verma!?" Nidhi blushed heavily and hastily get out from the bed away from her.. lest she wud see the amount of blush tht she had brot forth from her with her teasing act revealing wat she and Dr. Ashutosh had done in the nite!
But Angie was a smart girl! She came around to catch her jst in time before Nidhi cud compose herself! "Niiidddhiii!" she asked her a most teasing voice! And she blushed some more.. "luks like I have cot someone.. almost redhanded!" "Angie!," she cried blushing with embarrassment now.. "Okay.. so if u don't wanna tell me.. don't.. thn I can imagine all sorts of things tht ur heavy blush wud mean!" "Angie!.. thrs thrs.. nothing like tht!" "bt I didn't say thr was anything like tht.. did I?" "Angie.. u... u..!" she feigned anger! "hmm.. so I gather tht u have finally kissed!" "Nooo!" she blushed,"y do u always end up asking wether I kissed?" "Bcoz thts wat normal couples do.. and thts wat this amount of blushing wud suggest!" "huh.. as if u r expert and experienced!" "Oh Nidhi.. wat if I hadn't had the experience, but I do offer free and expert counseling and lend my ears to all who so want to share!" "Wat? Who does tht.. who wants to share.. thr.. intimate and private moments with u?" "Y.. many.. except u Dr. Nidhi Verma!" "Really?" "Yeah.." "I cant believe tht girls have gotten so bold and shameless!" "not jst girls Nidhi dearest!" Angie chuckled.. "Don't tell me.. Rohan!!!!" Nidhi exclaimed in utter amazement! Angie jst chuckled again.
"Oh my God.. he is such a shameless boy.. sharing his experiences of his girlfriends with u.. its disgusting!" "Oh Nidhi.. its not tht way.. its not him, its factor Angie.. who makes him spill his beans.. its my doing totally!" and she gave a mischevious laugh!,"he is totally innocent..as always" "innocent huh!.. he is gonna get sandals if any of his girlfriends wud ever come to know!" "Nidhi dear.. y r u changing the topic.. arnt v talking abt ur moments?" "Nooo!" She blushed and Angie didn't pull her legs further and jst hugged her lovingly. "well.. as u wish.. I jst came to plan a day out with u.. y? u r back to nightshifts?" "yeah.. thnks to a foolish act of mine!" "Y a step taken in stupid anger! Wat? had a fight with Dr. Ashutosh?" "yeah..stupid me? but u know" she chuckled,"but we already made up!" "Oh.. so u kissed and made up!" Angie winked at her mischeviously.. and before Nidhi cud hit her..her mobile rang and flashed "Dr. Ashutosh" She blushed and picked up moving into a far corner of her room away from Angie!
"Hey doc!" greeted he.. apparently seemed to be in a pretty happy mood, Nidhi felt. "Hi.." she replied with equally happy tone! "so had some rest?" "yeah.. sort of.. y.. v r not cancelling our.." she looked back to see were Angie was and thn said in a low tone.."errr.. appointment?" "appointment?" he laughed hard. "I mean.. meeting" He laughed again.. it jst sounded so odd! "No.. Dr. Nidhi.. thrs a surprise for u for which I have called u up!" "really!" she almost jumped in excitement!,"please tell me wats the surprise" "how abt coming to job at 10 o'clock today!" she was puzzled.."bt I have night shifts?"asked she. "hmm.. bt thy can always b chngd to general shifts cant thy?" And she got wat his surprise was.. she smiled with joy "really?"asked she.. Did he chng her night shifts to day shifts! "yes! Dr. Verma.. afterall I am THE dean !" "oooh! Thnk u so soo much!" she was overjoyed. "Okay Nidhi.. got to go.. so wen r u coming down at my house? Hope u had gud rest tho?" She again turned back to look wer Angie was.. and thn replied in a low voice,"do u really thnk I wud b able to rest after such news.." she smiled with shyness.. "yeah.. neither wud I insist.."said he and thn added,"I wud b waiting for u.. eagerly" in most loving tone and Nidhi blushed. "c u thn?" "okay.." "Call me up thn.. how wud u b coming?" "dunno.. normally baba took the car while I had my night shift.." "okay fine.. thn.. I will pick u up.." "Wat?.. from my home?" "yeah.. y not?" she was confused.. wat wud she explain to her baba! "worrying abt baba?"asked he. "wat wud I say?" "Nidhi I thot by this time u mst've known tht such things r to b left on me.." he smiled and assured her affectionately. "but how?" "I said.. leave tht 2 me.. don't u worry.. I'll handle it.. Its 7.. I think I can pick u up around 8:30 and thn leave for hospital together from my house.. wud tht b fine?" "yeah.. it sounds good..!" "okay thn.. done?" "done.." "all right.. bye take care.." "hmm.. u too!" and thy hung up.
Angie had gotten bore by the time she had completed and wore same expressions on her face! Nidhi gave her a "sorry" expression and said sheepishly,"I m sorry angie.. bt luks like our day out will need to b replanned!" "huh!"replied she. "really sorrie.." "Nidhi u r not giving me time.. I jst completed a huge project.. I so needed a time out!" "Oh Angie.. I m so sorrie.. may b v can plan something in the evening?" "I dbt u wud b free Nidhi.." Nidhi sighed.. she really cant promise tht she wud b free.. she was in dilemma.. who to give priority her bestie or her..? Angie looked at her confused face and bailed her out.. "Its okay Nidhi.. I understand.. its jst this time tht u can spend with Dr. Ashutosh.. its time tht u can learn more abt him.. rite.. so u go ahead.. I will plan something else.. may b I will get hold of Rohan and make him spill out some more secrets" she winked at her mischeviously.
"No Ms. Angie Solanki! U need a boyfriend instead!" "No way!" cried she. "Oh yes.. and I m gonna find u one sooon!" "thn I will have to kill u.. Sorrie Dr. Ashutosh"she chuckled. "I don't think so he will let u.. Ms Angie Solanki". "really..v'll c" "yeah.. v'll c.. u have no way out!" Nidhi chuckled back.
Dr. Ashutosh didn't ring Nidhi up and Nidhi was getting anxious! It was already 8:15 and she was pacing heavily in her room. She was worried abt her baba and even dadi bua was at home! Oh wat wud happen! She bit her nails anxiously. At 8:20 she heard the doorbell of her house ringing sharply and she rushed out immediately. She found her baba welcoming Dr. Ashutosh with a surprise. She ran to kitchen and instructed Chote Sarkar to prepare some tea and ran outside. She had worn a light pink kurti and had matched it up with nice earrings. She had done something different with her hair today.. she had rolled it a bit wavy rather thn the straight hair tht she normally wore. She went back to her room and brushed her hair carefully and straightened her dress and gave a brief look to herself in mirror before running out to hear the conversation tht was taking place.. bt to her utter disappointment Dr. Ashutosh was already up and waiting for her.. while her baba had excused himself. She was left in surprise and she played with her hair nervously as she neared him.."wer did baba go?" she asked him. "well, how wud I know.. its ur house" "I mean.." she looked around and then asked him in whisper, "wat did u say?" He chuckled instead and asked,"shall v?" "yeah..a second" "k.. will take out my car.." and she rushed inside to bring her jhola.
After a while thy wer driving towards AShutosh's home, but her mind was occupied by the same thot. "how did u ask baba?" she asked again but he was in no mood to reveal! "oh c'mon.. please?" "y u want to know?" he asked "y?... coz.. he is my baba" "so wat.. its betn two of us.." "Bt its concerning me!" "Who says?" "wat do u mean?...WAT did u say to baba?" she was clearly puzzled and sooo wanted to know!. "it doesn't matter.. wat matters is this.." and he pulled out a box from the front deck neatly wrapped in a beautiful gift paper and she uttered a loud cry of joy! "Wow!..oh I luuuvv gifts" she said in a child-like joyous manner.. and Ashutosh chuckled at her cuteness! "go ahead wont u like to open it?" "yes.. yes.."she said in excitement and neatly and carefully opened up her gift and exclaimed in joy! Chocolates!!! "Emm.. yummy!" she cudnt help herself and he chuckled heartily. How was she able to find so much of joy in such small things! Wondered he as he drove thm towards his house. She happily nibbled onto it.. and before thy had reached his house, she had completed it all! He hadn't stopped her this time.. coz he was too busy controlling himself! His eyes had more thn once wandered over her smacking lips.. which had luked pretty inviting.. more so coz he had jst missed its taste the other nite! Thank God Nidhi was too busy to notice him, he had genuinely thnked God!
As they parked the car and alighted, thy found Mrs. Sinha crossing thm.. but to Dr. Ashutosh's utter surprise..she didn't greet him and instead looked at Nidhi disapprovingly and turned away her face from her rather rudely! Nidhi chuckled after her and Dr. Ashutosh looked at her with amusement.. "whatever u did to her?" he asked. "Y u want to know?" she repeated his earlier question. "Nidhi!" he gave a soft shout in mock anger, but she js smiled mischeviously.. "Not till u tell me wat u said to my baba!" "Really.. so u wanna play games?" "yup!" "emm hmm.. " "yup!" "lets thn jst say.. I don't wanna know!" "okay.. thn me neither!" and they went in!
Hiraman kaka welcomed her warmly and offered her some sweet,"I think u deserve this after the bitter taste u got the last time u wer here" "Oh kaka.. I already had some..bt thnk u so much for ur care.." "really?" asked he. "yes.. Dr. Ashutosh gifted me a big box of chocolates!" she cudnt hide her excitement of getting chocolates from Dr. Ashutosh as if she wanted to shout and tell everyone! Dr. Ashutosh exasperated Wat is she doing! And looked at Hiraman kaka who was eyeing at him with a mischevious smile.."Did he..Really?now tht hasn't happened in his this long yrs of life.. well someone who doesn't want to change seems to b changing pretty fast!" he teased and both Nidhi and Hiraman kaka chuckled teasingly. Ashutosh jst shrugged and rolled his eyes! Thse two made up a devilish team!
When kaka retreated back to his kitchen, he grabbed her arms to her utter surprise and pulled her and asked in low voice..."wat was tht?" "wat?" "y wer u teaming up with kaka" "teaming up!" she chuckled,"r u serious!" "yeah!" "cmon v wer jst having some fun.. bt the chocolates were soo yummiliciously delicious.. u shud've tasted it!.. Oh..so stupid of me.. I ..didnt even offer u!" "Well, thnks for tht.. I don't like chocolates!" Oh u r soo lying, a voice inside his head shouted. "bt I have still got some in my fridge for u left over by urself from tht nite." He said lovingly. "really?" "yeah.."and he took out the plate and offered her.. She gave a bright smile,"emm.hmmm.. I have already had enuff.. u taste it!" "Wat.. Noo..I told u I don't like chocolates! Liar liar!, the voice shouted again. "Oh c'mon jst once.." and she quickly picked up chocolate and unwrapped it at exactly the same part tht she had eaten previously from and offered him!! Dr. Ashutosh backed away instantly and looked at it uneasily making awkwardest of cutest faces! He gave such a cute expressions tht Nidhi chuckled teasing him.."C'mon u r looking at it.. as if thrs some poison in it!" Some poison.. he wudnt have mind it at all!.. He backed away further nodding a cute No! She inched it further to his lips.. "oh C'mon.. its jst chocolate.. it's the most wonderful and yummiest thing in this whole world.. nothing can b more relishing thn this! Jst.. taste it!" Oh Nidhi wasn't helping him! He tried to turn away but she was persistent.."Oh wats the matter?" she asked him now getting suspicious.. He jst stared at her and then at the part from where she had nibbled? helplessly! She pondered over it for a while.. and thn gave a shy yet mischevious smile! Bt she wanted to be more mischevious thn shy.. "c'mon have it.. for my sake.. " she added coyly.. and his heart skipped a beat! He had but one option? to take it..he picked it up from her hands gingerly and nibbled on tht part.. hesitatingly and yet tenderly. She gave an utmost shy smile and turned away to hide her shyness.. his expressions wer tht of as if..as if he was taking in ..her lips! Her cheeks colored in reddest of crimson tht she had hard time controlling! But the mischieviousness in her still wasn't dying and she bit her lower lips mischeviously and gathered enuf courage and boldness to take a look at his cute face.. for once, his normally teasing eyes and mischevious face?.right now actually looked cute and innocent and a bit shy! Now was he? She looked again.. and a mischevious smile crept up her face.. he was still nibbling on his previous bit and gazing at the chocolate.. She suddenly grabbed his hand and took a bite from wer he had eaten.. he was stunned at her bold mischief! His jaw dropped and an astounding "Nidhi!" came out from his mouth. She relished on her piece deliciously and replied as a matter of factly shrugging her shoulders cutely.."It was my chocolate afterall!" "now u can have it as much as u want!" she added and chuckled mischeviously. "Nidhi.. u r so gonna pay for this!" he said. "really.. v'll c?" "really?.. Nidhi, I meant u r so gonna pay RITE NOW!" and he grabbed her arms and pulled her towards his bedroom.
Nidhi gave a frightened cry in shock, "Nooo!".. and pulled herself back. "Oh yes!" he pulled her again and shushed her signaling to keep her voice down?and nodding towards the kitchen!. Bt she was frightened as to wat he was planning to do..y in the world he was taking her to his bedroom! She genuinely panicked and cried in low voice.."Nooo.. please?" "No!" he replied stubbornly and pulled her further.. a clear determination visible on his face made Nidhi more nervous! "no..no.. no.. please.." she pleaded. "okay.."he finally provided her some relief.. "tell me.. will u b a mischief again?" she chuckled cutely but didn't reply.. she was still trying hard to break free? "I m sorry Nidhi.. luks like u will need to learn this lesson the hard way!" and he pulled her again.. "Nooo!," she cried again.
Jst thn, Hiraman kaka coughed his way back in the living room and Ashutosh had to instantly release her. She quickly composed herself and eyed at the chocolate in his hand and he hid it behind his back quickly and luked at Hiraman kaka with a blank face. Hiraman kaka had come in with a tray of snacks and tea and sensed their awkwardness. He stared at them in awkward silence and thn coughed knowingly and said,"I think I have left the stove on..!" and went back in with the same tray!.
As soon as he had gone, Ashutosh tried to grab Nidhi again but she instinctively ran behind the sofa and gave him a thumbs down sign! "I am warning u Nidhi!" he threatened her in his deceptive low calm voice. "Nooo?u r not going to get any hold of me..Dr. Ashutosh!" she chuckled and replied in almost low whisper but to her utter surprise he moved quickly and climbed over sofa and grabbed her from across. She gasped in horror! He chuckled.."now lets c who gets hold of who!" "nooo! "she cried again. He shushed and she pleaded again"wat r u doing.. kaka can come in again at any moment!" "let him!" "wat if he sees u like this!" "I don't care!" "Wat abt me?" "tht u shudve thot of before doing the mischief!" "no?let me gooo!" she cried again cutely struggling to get her arms free.. "No.. first tell me..will u do it again?" she didn't answer but she stopped struggling and pouted instead.. but to her surprise, he pulled her near instead.. and she gasped.."tell me?will u do it again?"he asked her again.. she looked at him with a cute pout and sweet pleading eyes.. but he jst nodded with a big No "I m not going to give in to ur cuteness.. Dr. Nidhi Verma? Not this soon" and he pulled her further close and asked determindedly,"first tell me.. will u do it again?" But thy heard a cough again.. and Ashutosh retracted quickly from over the sofa and she ran to kaka immediately "let me help u in the kitchen kaka?" and she ran in the kitchen as kaka walked out of it with that tray again! But she stopped midway of the kitchen door and turned around over the back of kaka and mouthed a Yes...yes.. Yes!!! mischieviously and ran away.. leaving Ashutosh astound! This girl was getting bolder and naughtier! She ran in and chuckled at his expressions! Dr. Ashutosh.. u better watch who u r messing with! And she chuckled again. "I am not going to prepare this tea again Ashutosh!" she heard kaka grumbling from the living room..and thn she thot she heard something like "I think I rather b going out to get some groceries instead" and she blushed! Kaka!
Ashutosh stared at the back of kaka for a while and then brot out his chocolate and had a good bite of it.. It did taste delicious! He smiled to himself with a shy blush and went to his bedroom waiting for Nidhi thr! Now wat r u gonna do Dr. Nidhi Verma!
Nidhi stood ther in the kitchen for a while and thn went out to look for Dr. Ashutosh. She peeked into his bedroom and found him enjoying the last bit of his chocolate. She blushed and went back to bring the tea to Dr. Ashutosh's room.. It was getting cold indeed?and cold tea surely wudnt taste tht gud! She bit her lower lips!
He had jst finished his chocolate when he saw Nidhi standing with tray in the midway of room! "U wer rite Nidhi.. it was relishing.. especially after?!" he looked at her.. she was blushing hard! But she slowly came near him and placed the tray on the side table and sat beside him on the bed! He was shocked! "especially after wat Dr. Ashutosh!" she asked demurely and he forgot to blink!
