Kuch Toh Log Kahenge:
Episode Analysis and
Symbolism
Posted on December 27, 2011 by admin
Hello Readers!
Welcome to Analysis and Symbolism corner
here at Telly Tadka, where our first show
for discussion is Kuch toh Log Kahenge…
Dargah ke dwaar, mile Ashotosh -Nidhi ka
Pyaar….
Both Armaan and Rohan were set to make
Ashutosh and Nidhi meet at Lucknow
Darbaar, but fate had other plans. Both
Nidhi and Ashutosh decide to visit the
Dargah, now that they were at its Door
Steps, but like they keep bumping/meeting
each other at every nook and corner of life,
thats what happens once again.
Both Nidhi and Ashutosh are surprised to
see the other at the Dargah, but before
they could say anything Armaan and Rohan
Intervene and tells Nidhi and Ashutosh the
Dil-Ka-Haal of the other. Armaan also
questions them why is it impossible for the
duo to accept their love in front of each
other when they have admitted to
themselves as friends (Refer Armaan and
Rohan) that they love each other, thus
probing both to confess their love to one
another, at the entrance of a Spiritual
abode, making their love more blessed and
special.
What follows is a really simple and sweet
conversation between the couple, where
Ashutosh tries to tell Nidhi, how he tried to
voice out the feelings he had for Nidhi.
They also have a small banter regarding
whet Nidhi would address Ashutosh
hereafter, and settle down at "
Suniye"/"Suniye Ji"……..What makes this
simple scene worth mentioning is the
acting showcased by Monish Bhel, for
Kritika Karma to portray Nidhi in this
particular seq would not have been as
tough as Mohish bhel would have had to
portray Ashutosh, his mannerisms, the
uncertainty, tension, and heartfelt elation,
every emotion was well captured and
displayed.
One of the most beautiful lines used in the
show today was a response that came from
Ashutosh when Nidhi asks him where they
are headed to …He replies" Does it really
matter??? Hum saath hai yehi kaafi
hai"……..It implies that the have reached
their destination, found solace in each
others company from here on whatever
their future holds makes no matter, coz
they are together.
Ashutosh and Nidhi's relationship started
taking a different course out side the Tea
Stall in a rainy day. Just like the brewing
weather and the then circumstances it
symbolized uncertainty. Then came a
sequence when Ashutosh went to the stall
alone, and that day also it was raining,
which symbolized the inner turmoil withing
him. Next Nidhi visits the tea stall all alone,
which showed her state of mind, which was
her seeking peace/solace when her heart
was actually wandering. Today they both at
the tea stall together, on this bright sunny
day, symbolizes their blooming love, whose
rays are bright. That the best in them
reflects when with each other.
The entire Tea Stall wala Seq reminded me
one of the most subtle yet strong character
played by Monish Bhel , that of Vivek from
the movie Hum Saath Saath Hai. Maybe it
was necessary to interpret those scenes
that way, but there sure was a Jhalak of
Vivek in Ashutosh today.
Ashutosh laughed, Dil khol ke hasa bandha,
thanks to Nidhi who with her entry into
Ashutosh's life has taken hold of the reins
of his happiness and laughter. Finally they
exchange Goodnight and Byes….and part
for the day. Nidhi is too excited to sleep
and drags Rohan to hear her Dil-e-Dastaan,
on the other hand Armaan waits excitedly
for Ashutosh to hear kya kya hua???
Both Nidhi and Ashutosh is gleaming happy
thinking about the events of the day…..and
the episode ends with Ashutosh uttering
the words " I love you Dr. Nidhi
Verma….very much" out loud….
The use of both the songs in the show, that
is " Ek Din Aap yu Hum ko Mil Jaayenge"
from Yes Boss and " Baawara Maan " from
Hazaron Khwaahishen Aisi, have been used
at right moments projecting the state of
mind of the couple….. The former plays out
when both Ashutosh and Nidhi finally
admit their love to each other….and as the
lyrics go, it was neither of them ever
thought that they would see this day, that
the love they had for the other would be
reciprocated….whereas the latter comes
when they both are in a highly elated state,
as much as they know that they have
confessed their feelings, its impossible to
actually intake the joy and peace life has to
Offer.
Beautiful Episode……Kritika Kamra, Karan
wahi and Niesh Pandey does a
commendable Job. But show stealer by
hands down is Monish Bhel.
