I agree with both of you @manisha and @them2d

Dev having this devotion to his mom is indeed understandable. What I don't understand is why the other people think of it this way as well.

Why Sona thinks that Ishwari is some great woman instead of just being a good parent. That too Sona sees very clearly that Ishwari very much exerts the "ehsaan" that she did all this over Dev. She still respects her? That is something I don't understand

Ah, that way.. Yes I get it. I think Sona is just being the empath that she is and (most probably) understands why Dev has that respect for her. She has told Dev a few times that he is blind when it comes to his mom; but I just think she's being empathic. I don't think Sona ever treated Ishwari like a God or put her on a pedestal. And for Mamaji, I think he just loves his sister and respects her for her struggle being a single parent. because he has also told Ish many times to leave Dev-Sona alone and not to come in between them.

I have been writing only one-shots, but my 'Building Bridges' story expanded from a one-shot..and now I am writing it, make it a 3-4 part story! I will do this next right after that!

Legit, what kind of parent just let's their six year old go play outside a random temple and go to a random lady's house (even with a driver). Worse still, Dev was there at the house and wasn't even concerned that she randomly came by herself and left also by herself.

Even with driver, Soha has got to be accompanied by a family member. That whole part was so not realistic! And Dev just lets her walk out of the house? Alone? So contrived just to make the Ishu Soha meet.

I think the only "payoff" might be that Ishwari got a glimpse of what exactly will happen to Dev without Sona. The sad thing being, in times of distress Sona chose Dev over her family while Dev chose his mom over Sona.

I do think if Dev had actually grown a backbone and said no, I'm going to be with her I don't care about mom's opinion it would have been much more impactful.

Sona was right when she said that the only reason he was here ready to be with her was because his mom said yes. He would leave her otherwise.

It's not good payoff lol but I think the Dev track proved to Ishwari that while she will always be top priority for her son he won't be himself without Sona.

And it was a good hint about what would happen when they seperated for 7 years.

I am 100% certain that if Sona had lived in Delhi after their seperation Dev would stalk her the same way.

I think one of my dream episodes will be the aftermath. The exact next day after Dev wakes up from his drunken stupor and realises Sona really went away. I know we saw a small scene later but I want Dev's perspective of the next day!
