I genuinely think that track was Shaheer’s finest (his true 100%, heck it was 200%) such an impactful, powerful performance.

Huh. I mean yes, but who exactly is watching ITV for moral science class?

And as you said Dev himself knew and said that what he was doing was wrong. And Sona was not impressed with it and did not come back to him because of it. So his stalking didn't get him the girl either.

Bold- 😂😂😂 his real 100% exactly lol . That comment won't be forgotten any time soon.

Season one saw Shaheer’s true 100%. Even 2 wasn’t that great IMO. Yupppp. Didn’t Dev say himself “haan bann gaya hoon main ganda stalker”. It was sooo good. Also that restaurant scene “YOU. ARE. MINE”. I mean hellooooo. All girls were yours back then 😂

Dev ki deewangi track is definitely the most fave track of the show, for many. I enjoyed watching it as well but from story point of view, it was useless. It added *nothing* to the future dynamic, except a few scars & hence, making Sona more bahu like to gain acceptance from Ishwari *yawn*. For Dev, nothing changed the way he dealt with the two most important ladies of his life. What was the point of all that drama then? Firstly, that wasn't what I expected from the show as I was hoping for a mutual let's-part-ways-but-we-are-still-one concept. Nevermind, too much to expect from ITV. Secondly, Sona jumps back in Dev's arms without any assurance/effort from Dev. Literally none. What exactly did Dev do to have her in his life? Become a stalker, drunkard, brain-dead jerk? All what he had to do is..oh well, he didn't do anything. Ishwari goes to Bose house & does her master manipulation- poora circus khada kar diya - pallu phailana, bheekh maangna and all LOL😆 And everyone except bijoy is convinced. Haha, bijoy is such a good reader of human tendencies though!

What I mean is, the progression was back to square one. What was the purpose of this track then? It just established that Sona has now jumped into a hell hole because she becomes a brainless bimbo when it comes to devdas, oops Dev. And Dev won't change & still he'll get the most pleasures (no, I'm not downplaying his emotions nor am I ranting about morals..I myself am I huge Maya Mehrotra and Sakshi Goenka fan😆 It's just that the track has no value, except for some really good emotional showdown & fireworks worth rewtaching.

I think the only "payoff" might be that Ishwari got a glimpse of what exactly will happen to Dev without Sona. The sad thing being, in times of distress Sona chose Dev over her family while Dev chose his mom over Sona.

I do think if Dev had actually grown a backbone and said no, I'm going to be with her I don't care about mom's opinion it would have been much more impactful.

Sona was right when she said that the only reason he was here ready to be with her was because his mom said yes. He would leave her otherwise.

It's not good payoff lol but I think the Dev track proved to Ishwari that while she will always be top priority for her son he won't be himself without Sona.

And it was a good hint about what would happen when they seperated for 7 years.

I am 100% certain that if Sona had lived in Delhi after their seperation Dev would stalk her the same way.

I think one of my dream episodes will be the aftermath. The exact next day after Dev wakes up from his drunken stupor and realises Sona really went away. I know we saw a small scene later but I want Dev's perspective of the next day!

Sorry I went very off topic 🙈

Arrey no sorry, we’re here to discuss these things only na. It’s fun 😻

I agree, had Ishwari learnt from her mistakes, she could’ve foreseen Dev’s behavior after the leap.

I believe Dev could never forget his mom’s sacrifices and that made him overly loyal towards her. Neither did he ever have eye for her manipulation. He should’ve bursted out of anger when he got to know about who sent Ritwik’s proposal for Sona, yet he said “tune achcha kiya”. It’s his incapability to choose for himself & that’s exactly the reason why he rarely chose Sona. Sona chose Dev because she always had the liberty and actually the support to choose herself irrespective whether it could benefit her family. More than anger, I just felt sad for Dev. His trauma ruined his life. It also explains his emotional instability, for “it’s not Dev Dixit if it’s not extreme.”

Yep, I really feel like each and every time he knew exactly who was in the right. You could always tell he agreed with Sona, her opinion mattered to him and to a large extent, aligned with his personal work ethic as well- but he just needed to say yes to his mother.

Like Vicky joining his office as a project head, Dev fully agreed he should join as an intern. With Riya, before he even met Sonakshi, he was clear that she will join as an intern and work her way up. If Ishwari hadn't made a scene, that's the path he would've taken

Haha okay!

Yes, Dev always chooses himself last. As he says to Sona "main tumhe sirf apne liye rakhna chahata hu"

It's the only thing he allowed himself to have. And I think similar to how Ishwari assigned Dev the role of her partner, Dev was also searching for someone who would be his partner in handling all the many many many many responsibilities on him. Someone who would love Ishwari with the same devotion he does.

And he did find that in Sonakshi. Sonakshi respects Ishwari a lot. But it's not the blind devotion Ishwari is used to. So she doesn't like her( there are other more disturbing reasons too )

Though I have to say, and this might be an unpopular opinion, so sorry if I offended anyone. But did Ishwari really do anything so great?

I just feel as if she did what any single parent stuck in poverty would do. Worked multiple jobs to get food at home. In fact I feel other parents might not be so clearly discriminatory towards their daughters.

I just never really got why exactly did Dev, Neha, Mama ji , Sonakshi all revere her so much.

She did what any other parent would have done, but from Dev's perspective it's a lot. He was raised with that sense of devotional gratitude towards his mother, while her sacrifices were the same as anyone else in that situation, Dev only saw his own mother who worked 4 jobs and didn't eat or sleep just so she could feed her children. She ensured that he went to a good school, focused on his education, and spooked him rotten even though they had no money to make ends meet.

So from our perspective it's not that great, but Dev saw a woman who didn't eat for days just so that she could make his favourite meal for him.

Fully agree, I can tell from my own personal experience. I have immigrant parents and I remember how my dad used to sleep for only 4 hours a night and had 2 jobs so he could give us everything. He wasn’t always there and my mom raised us despite working herself and we went to self defense classes, swimming classes, school etc etc. So now when we’re fully independent and working, I try to give my parents EVERYTHING and put in extra effort to give them a comfortable life, because I remember how extremely hard it has been for them to come to a country with a different language, leaving their own family behind to give us the life they think we deserved. As their children, it’s completely normal to develop a certain loyalty towards their parents, especially when you’ve seen them struggling while growing up. It leaves an impact. (Although my parents don’t think I owe them anything, which is the case when it comes to Ishwari.)
