Hi guys,

Just happened to watch the episode today after a break and seriously regretted watching it. It just made me realize how tragic a decline the show has taken. What was once a beautiful story of flawed characters has been destroyed so unapologetically by the same people who created them. Just had me reminiscing all the beautiful scenes that I loved so much to watch and just felt like sharing them. Honestly I was crazy about this show, because my last show that I followed ardently was maryada lekin lab tak before this, so was just happy for finally finding something great to watch on ITV. So here it goes…

The scene where sona realizes that she has fallen for dev when she was in hospital bed..after her day dream got over and when she says ”Don’t tell me…” realising she has fallen in love `”Akhir tujhe pryaar ho hi gaya”. Was cute and endearing…

The scene where dev comes to meet sona when she is ill.. one of my fav bcoz this was probably the first time when dev actually looked at her differently than just as a friend or his mother’s doc and called her sonakshi for the first time.

The episode where dev realizes his love for sona, his reminiscence of their meetings and the gradual smile that spreads on his face and of course his self talk in front of the mirror.

The famous proposal scene, best proposal ever I’ve seen not just in tv.. no extravaganza, no unnecessary talks… loved the way how he tried to make sona a part of his life not just in future, but including her even in the years she wasn’t there with him and his famous “I love you like a man loves a woman”. Just remembered how people went crazy about that line and of course was worth the hype, a beautiful love proposal…

The first day after the proposal.. I loved it when he tells her he wants to know everything about her, “aapke sapne kya hai, aapki sabse haseen sapne kya hain”. Those days he really wanted to know even what sonakshi thought, not just said…

Their very first argument and dev asking Sonakshi if she is ready for him and her promise to him. Only pair where I enjoyed the arguments too.

The scene where Sonakshi convinces Neha for her wedding dress. Loved the simple way she explains it and the look on dev’s face hearing it, one of relief that the situation is resolved and how proud he felt that this is the girl he chose for himself.

The scene where dev gets sick and sonakshi tries to see dev. I like this one just for Erica, the way she expresses her pain, frustration/helplessness about the situation. Erica nailed the scene.

The breakup scene at the hospital, sonakshi’s final goodbye. Now after all these years I might argue that she should have broken up for good at this stage, but I couldn’t help feeling their pain back then. Both erica and shaheer nailed it

Another best scene where they both try to break all ties forever in dev’s office. Dev’s helplessness when Sonakshi said she is ready to marry if he says so, sonakshi’s first time confession as to her true feelings to dev about the breakup and dev’s condition, dev’s request to see her one last time. If anyone could touch your heart while breaking it at the same time, these 2 definitely did it.

The engagement day episode is another favorite of mine. The painful song when they both get ready, dev’s painful letter to Sonakshi, sonakshi’s “aap aagaye”, both wanting to see each other for the last time, dev’s request for Sonakshi to be happy in her life, sonakshi running to dev when he fell. Awesome is the only word I can think of.

The scene where Sonakshi leaves her engagement for dev. Two people so much in love, dev’s refusal to let her go, sonakshi’s reluctance to leave him in that state, another mind blowing episode.

The reunion scene was another heart touching moment, the feeling of contentment they both felt after all the struggles.

So many good memories of the show, was a solace in the hectic life. I’m still trying to find a show like this that was so simple yet beautifully portrayed after all these years. Now to see what a train wreck S3 has been is really so disappointing. Now all I can feel is a bad taste in my mouth and feel bad for the show and the fans who invested so much energy in this show. What has it come to😭

S1 was great. The story was beautifully shown. The dialogues, the direction everything was so different from the typical ITV shows. I loved all the moments in it not just dev sona. Also the forum too was so interesting with people in the dev-ish camp or the sona- Bose camp. It made delightful reading.

S2 was not bad too. It was preachy but the characters stayed true.

This season has just spoiled all these memories! The makers didn’t see their own show to take up where they left off. We as fans will remember minute details but they should at least remember the character traits.

Highly disappointed. Wish they would have left it alone!

What a simple, beautifully written show it used to be.

The way all the characters were so well rounded, they would talk, interact with each other, had flaws and errors in judgement- season 3 lacks that characterization.

Just like in real life, all the characters interacted and spoke about nothing in particular, nothing was a foreshadowing moment the way it is now. In this season, nobody seems to talk to each other if it has no impact on taking the track forward.

What sweet memories we have of the Bose family just watching cricket together, or arguing about Asha's book's plot, or even the scene on Ishwari's birthday where her brother comes to console her about Dev and then gives her imli candies that they laugh and reminisce about. We saw the relationship between Sourab, Elena and Sona, all teasing and making fun of each other constantly, but also hanging out like best friends.

My favourite scenes are of Dev and Sonakshi just talking, about nothing in particular- just themselves, like any couple would. More than long winded lectures about how much they love each other, we got sweet little video calls and coffee dates and phone calls at night.

Season 3 has effectively ruined the simplicity and sweetness of this show, and turned it into a caricature of what it used to be.

The show definitely was a hit for it’s simplicity, be it the characters or the plot. The music was another major factor for the show too with original scores. It was refreshing to watch the show at a time when ITV was ruled by high-voltage dramas.

As for the scenes, I just mentioned the ones related to sonakshi-dev because of the current sequence. Overall I too have enjoyed lots of other characters conversations too. I really liked mamaji’s approach of explaining things passively, he was the only one to at least point out ishwari’s faults in s1. I even like the bijoy-ishwari face-off scenes, especially the one where bijoy comes to return the bracelet scene, it was a very powerful scene and the follow-up asha-bijoy scene.

I couldn’t connect to the show that much after the 7-year leap, though enjoyed sonakshi’s no-BS attitude and her savage comebacks to both ma and beta.

S2, just watched few scenes, so can’t comment on that. So yes overall had a great experience with the show until the S3 debacle.

oh yes, their conversations were a treat to watch, they were so sorted. Even the late-night ones even before their confession were endearing. They actually communicated instead of just butting heads.. It’s funny that of all the things the makers chose miscommunication as the plot-line for this season is hilarious.

For my own sanity I pretend season 3 never happened. Season 1 was and is the original krpkab and nothing can replicate that
