I sincerely want to know how tf can I get this job? The people that are supposed to be doing this job, clearly aren't. It's like they have no semblance of understanding of the characters. Why the unnecessary whitewashing?
First of all the video of Asha and Dev. It makes no sense that that video even exists, who would have filmed it? How would Dev even have had it? And how tacky to have him send it to Sona. What was the purpose of that?
It would've been so impactful if they showed it as a memory that Dev had, him recalling fond times with Asha, exploring his guilt for not having been there, him thinking of her place in his life, his memories with his Asha maa. Instead of saying "main unhe bohot maanta tha", why would the writers not show us that like it a sweet memory? That is how I would put it if I were a screenwriter.
Dev's main issue is that he is BEYOND oblivious. Who is even so blind to such basic things? To me, the lack of guilt that he wasn't there when his mother in law- someone he genuinely loved and admired and had a relationship with passed away, is worse than his absence. "I didn't think/know this was an issue" is SO much worse in my opinion. Like if you don't think it's a problem, what is even left in this relationship?
"Main Sonakshi ko convince karke rahunga ki main uski family ko utna hi maanta hoon jitna maa ko" Is that even the truth? Joker.
The counsellor also has concluded that this is the problem, him not being there for Asha's death. However this isn't the problem, but an instance of another time Sonakshi has needed his support and he hasn't been there for her. The problem is that the man is so oblivious to his surroundings, it's like he has no clue about anything going on in his own life.
Also every time he lists the things he's done, like "bachon ko samhala ghar pe rehke, tumhare ghar pe aake raha, etc etc" I want Sonakshi to explicitly say "So? I also stayed home and watched the kids the first 6 months after Shubh was born, you stayed the next 6 months. I also lived in your house, I still do"
I really hope the counsellor in the next session brings up how Ishwari walked into councelling and essentially said "don't listen to Sonakshi". There *needs* to be a discussion about her interference in their married life and what she thinks about Sonakshi. Dev won't see the facts till it's literally in front of his face.
I have no faith in these writers because they made these characters so senseless, so weak, so stupid. I'm so angry as a fan. Just please hire me Mamta, I swear I'd do a good job
