Dev as a husband??

If i look at Dev as a character not because of Shaheer acting or something. Dev is not someone i would want as a partner. And there are many reasons for that:

1. He is very much dependent on his mom emotionally. Not to say i am not but there are times when i take my decision and i am okay/feel comfortable to do that.

2. Ishwari is manipulative. And dev gets manipulated every single time. Dev feels indebted to his mom. Every parent do things for their child, but i feel love is unconditional. They expect the love, but parents never tried to show themselves as superior who have done some things to get respect.

3. Cannot stand against his mom even when she is wrong. Fight between wife and mom should not be about which relationship is more stronger or superior. Instead it is about who is right?

4. Cannot listen against his mom either. Children should respect their parents but if parents can’t understand then at least should try to listen. Dev never listen to Sona when she tries to say about Ishwari behavior.

5. I feel he does not respect Sona’s father Bijoy. Calls him mr. bose. Bijoy is also not fond of dev and his behavior as such. But dev should at least call him papa or something. Just imagine if Sona start calling ishwari mrs. dixit. Would dev will be okay??
6. Many other things like ishwari is the root cause of all of their separations.

I am not saying Something sona is perfect but at least she is emotionally independent unlike dev. For me Dev is not someone who is good husband in the things when family is involved. He makes them priority but not include Sona in that list. Ishwari should be competing with Sona in every thing. First regarding dev, now ayush. Dev should now how to balance and set some limits in his mothers behavior. Ishwari cannot parent Ayush. First right is of Sona, dev and then ishwari.

Dev as a partner without ishuwari might be a fine enough person.

But he's done some absolutely terrible stuff that I can't ever be fine with.

Right from slapping his father in law.

To knowing that sonakshi was homeless (he believed) because of him and dude did nothing ! Nothing. I wouldn't do that to my enemy.

He was also a complete womaniser after sonakshi left but expected her to not even look at anyone else.

Also he hardly understood sonakshi's infertility issue and told her to leave right at the height of that issue, idk if such a partner truly loves you.

Double standards, he expects sonakshi to keep ishu at some high standard but refuses to behave even normally with bijoy.

Which is why I say Dev is a terribly written character barred with inconsistency. I really can't believe that anyone can give Saurabh 5 crore in need of money but also let someone call his father in law Chor. It's unbelievable.

That someone will remember the water temperature his so drinks at and keeps her jhula at home but doesn't ever try to check up on her and look into why they had to break up. He became a stalker first time and the second time didn't even have an idea he had a while daughter This isn't how humans function.

Season 2 Dev was a great husband. But Dev from season 1 & season 3 so far.... terrible husband to have. I agree with Doodle, the writing for him seems to be very inconsistent.

People like Dev gives me a nightmare of my future. For all I know I'd be happily single adopting 2 kids if the other side of the deal is Ishu and her baccha🤦

He's a terribly written character especially the way he deals with his in laws. Had that been a parameter of how in laws deal is equal to how you deal with them, then Sona could have lodged a couple of mental harrasment cases against his family.

He's the worst choice for a partner because he's a man child who still can't take his decisions independently and blindly follows an entity called his mother and in the process ruins everything. His entitlement is also glaring, Bijoy is absolutely right about him tbh.

He doesn't want Sona to discuss anything with her father but behaves like Sona is an outsider and his mother has the right to decide everything. Both son and mother are so so awful.

lol not all men are like this but i do agree you should walk out from relationship like this. you deserve a proper fairytale as sonakshi would say and not a botched manchild who needs 7 years of therapy minimum. issse accha puri zindagi single raho with cats.

After today's episode I have to say this.he is horrible as a husband.

I feel so bad for sonakshi after today's episode. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy a husband like dev!!!!

OT...what did Sonakshi see in him? People who have watched the previous seasons...any idea?

I totally get Bijoy's taunts for him now...no wonder.
