Shaheer Sheikh in Anirudh Pathak's 'Mughal-E-Azam'?

Actor Shaheer Sheikh seems to be a hot property on TV today. A few months ago, we reported that he has been finalised to play the male lead in Yash Patnaik's next, their second collaboration after 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi', we now hear that he has been approached for another big project.
According to our reliable sources, the handsome hunk is in talks with Anirudh Pathak (of 'Prithvi Vallabh' fame) for his upcoming show, which is a recreation of the magnum opus 'Mughal-E-Azam' on TV. He has been approached to play the central character of Salim and the actor has shown an interest in the project. Incidentally, a contract remains to be sign between Shaheer and Yash, which left him open to consider other offers, too.

Informs a source associated with 'Mughal-E-Azam', "Shaheer has shown interest in the project and will be taking a call once he is back in India. The maker is hopeful that he will give a nod. Getting Shaheer on board will be a huge boost for the project as he is extremely popular and a brilliant artiste, too."

Both Shaheer and Anirudh didn't respond to our text messages.

Only time will tell if Shaheer will opt for Yash's intense love story or Anirudh's televised version of a magnificent film.

Ever since his last venture on Sony TV, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke went off air, fans of hottie Shaheer Sheikh have been awaiting for his return to TV eagerly.

A few months back, a leading daily had reported about Shaheer's next collaboration being an intense love story that would be helmed by his Kuch Rang's maker, Yash Patnaik.

And recent reports suggested that Ekta Kapoor had roped in Shaheer for her upcoming project Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2. Shaheer had even opened up about the project mentioning that he would love to be a part of Kasautii, if things worked out for him.

The trail followed by news about Shaheer's Kuch Rang... co-star Erica Fernandes also being roped in for the project. It can be recalled that Shaheer and Erica were quite the hit with the masses and even went on to become one of the most loved and shipped jodis of Indian television.

Now, rumour has it that the actor is in talks with Prithvi Vallabh maker, Anirudh Pathak for his next project Mughal-e-Azam.

It was only a few days back that the news of Anirudh planning to adapt the cult film for television had come out.

Reports suggest that Shaheer is still on the fence about playing Salim in the show and is yet to sign on the dotted line, but the actor has shown tremendous interest in the project.

Well, with Shaheer having three plum projects on his hand, we can't wait for to see, what would he pick.
