Hi guys,
My name is Nikita. I used to visit this forum and participate in the discussions long before, when KRPKAB was still a new show. Now it seems like the forum is barely active (not surprising considering that the show has ended now) I have been catching up with the episodes which I had missed when the show was still on air. Thought of making a post on certain things which I pondered upon.
Firstly, is it really possible for someone to be like Sonakshi? I know, I know it's a silly question to ask but I couldn't help but wonder..how can someone possibly be so understanding and caring. Thankfully Sonakshi helping the Dixits (be in Khatri's matter or reuniting Dev with his sisters) didn't come across as annoying coz often in TV shows the FLs are projected in a way that they come across as interfering and silly.
I guess it's coz Sonakshi had embraced Dev's family as her own even before she married him, as a nutritionist, that she felt a connection with them even though she wasn't with them for 7 years.
Either ways there is something incridibly inspiring and idealistic about Sonakshi. On one hand, I feel that it is so unrealistic for someone to be as caring and selfless as her and on the other hand I feel there is much to learn from her. And hey why won't she be like that her Mom Asha herself was so understanding and sensible. (Btw, I really liked seeing Asha and Dev's Saans-Damaad bonding..they seemed more like friends than MIL-SIL)
When I started catching up the show I couldn't help but admire how the show made an excellent come back after leap. Post leap had some of the most amazing scenes and the one that tops my list is when Ishwari goes to take Sonakshi on Dev and Nisha's engagement day. Ishwari's apology and the way she describes that how while working as her nutritionist Sonakshi made a place in her heart and she started loving her as a child without even realising so, was heart touching. I had never imagined that that part (how Sona took care of Ishwari as a nutritionist) would ever be touched or spoken about. So it was pleasantly surprising and needless to say wonderfully written and enacted by the two actors.
I also absolutely enjoyed Dev and Sonakshi's sassyness post leap. Only thing extremely off putting was how Dev used to manhandle Sonakshi. And him acting all entitled as if he had done no wrong at all. Also I lost count of the number of times he called her "strong & independent" in a mocking tone. As if Sonakshi was not strong and independent when he had first met her and it was only after they separated that she achieved any sort of professional success. Like hold on your horses dude, who used to keep referring her as the best nutritionist?!
Nonetheless at last he realizes his mistakes and apologizes. The way he asks Sonakshi to return in his life in inebriated state touched my heart. It's sort of funny and ironic how the show started off with Dev's mother being the focal point of his life and then after he fell in love with Sona he totally became all about her. Yes he continued to love and care for his mother and did really become a very good father as well but various scenes showed that the only person who actually made his life feel complete was his lady love, his wife - Sonakshi. (I also happened to notice that more often than not Dev used to call her Sonakshi only and very rarely did he call her Sona)
I love loveddd Sonakshi's absolutely modern and classy way of dressing post leap. Didn't quite grow a liking for her dressing post Shaadi and in the second season. But the girl in love Sona pre leap and successful businesswoman Sona post leap were just so immaculately dressed (ofcos a few times here and there the outfits weren't very flattering but most of the times she did dress very elegantly) I also really liked Riya's styling post leap. Those off shoulder suits used to look really pretty on her.
Lastt but not the least, a huge huge round of applause to the adorable kids Golu, Soha and Aaroo. They were so effortless, real and amazing. Their innocence and cuteness was so beautifully captured. I love them! <3
All in all I love how after losing track KRKAB did make a good comeback and proved why it was such a worth watching show and clearly one of those shows which we all would keep watching and re-watching
Sorry about the length of this post and thank you for reading! :)
