Has Dev's character really grown/matured ??

My post probably would not be the popular opinion on this forum but this is just my point of view.
I know many are excited by the new over-possessive track of Dev but frankly I am not because it is not something new, we have already seen this during Ritwik & Jatin track. But my issue is the way they are shaping up Dev's character and that brings me to the question Has Dev's Character really grown/matured ?, because I feel it has not in fact for me it has gone down further.

Before jumping to conclusions let me tell why I feel so, if yesterday's episode is anything to go by then I believe Dev has really never understood the Boses, if he would have then he would not have used his influence to make Sonakshi get the contract. The Boses especially Sonakshi & Bijoy have always held there Self Respect more dear than anything else, Dev should have understood this because 7 yrs back when he helped Saurav with their business he knows how & where they ended up. He is going on the same path again and I am afraid the result might be same or even worse this time.

I really cannot understand or relate to how a person's core character can change, if I am not wrong this is the same Dev who did not want Riya to use his position or name when she was starting her career, the Dev who admired Natasha for what she achieved, his single mother for the strength she had shown and in fact Sonakshi & his daughter as well for being strong & independent, then why is he now behaving in such a way now

If the makers are trying to depict Dev's over possessiveness this way then sorry I am not up for it. There is a difference in being over possessive and respecting, by helping Sonakshi who by the way without any help raised her business Dev is hurting her self-respect, same happened 7 yrs back and the result was for everyone to see, if Dev had really matured then he would not have repeated the same mistake.

Apologies for the long rant, this is strictly my POV, no offence.

PS- My sincere & humble request to the makers, we have seen Dev as a stalker, whiner, possessive, over-bearing individual but still could empathise with him because at some level we knew that he was wronged by the circumstances, please do not make his character such a way that we start hating his character, now a days the dialogs he says along with his actions it seems like he is more of a grey character and to a certain extent it's fine but do not go over board with it. Else at least I cannot even empathise with his character anymore

I don't think his intention was to interfere with her deal. It just happened because she wouldn't answer the phone. He is blind when it comes to Sona and I don't think that will ever change. He is a extremist especially when it comes to her. He doesn't see anything else. The work interference was just a side affect not the intent. He has matured just when something like this happened with the bus ...he just reels from it. In short I don't think he will ever be tame as it relates to potentialally losing her. He is terrified of losing her.

yeah very much agree that what dev did was not ethically right but if i look at it the dev the makers are now showing is just simply a husband who just got the biggest shock of his life knowing how he could have lost his wife

Disagree with you. He did not go there to influence Sonakshi's client. He is still disturbed due to previous night's incident . He could not brush it off like Sonakshi did. He is scared what if something bad happened before he reached in time. Sonakshi could have answered his call.And it is not stalking for me. He just could not come out of his scare. He is protective and concerned. Why should he be blamed when he did not intend to interfere at all?

@itelidevara I would not have had any problem if he was just scared and wanted to ensure that his wife is safe, but he did know that she is in office in a client meeting so calling multiple times really does not make any sense and then he called the client which is a big no, what I wanted to convey was even after so many years does Dev understand that for Sonakshi Self-Respect is most important when seven years back there relation broke it was because of the very reason that her self respect was hurt. And today by helping Sonakshi knowingly or unknowingly he is committing the same mistake.

Also being protective is not a problem, but he could have talked about his fears with Sonakshi. Wasn't it the complaint which everybody had with these two that the lack of communication was one of the major reasons for there break up.

By the way from which angle he looked like a grey ch. for you nowadays? Just want to know.

I strongly feel Sonakshi did not realise the gravity of that Bus incident. Had Dev reached late what would have happened?

I totally agree with you.. no normal human being would act the way Sona is doing!! She is in a state of severe denial about everything and everyone...I do think Dev is deliberately acting this way...to help Sona open up and accept her feelings/flaws... Dev is not the same with Ishwari or his sisters.. he doesn't even bother to check on Ishwari any more .. y just Sona? He is worried about her well being but at the same time he probably wants her to understand her importance in his life (she is his life... Mrs. Dev Dixit)...

I believe the past 7 years Dev has introspected and worked on managing relationships part...there is more to it than what we have seen... many of his dialogues with Ishwari/Niki/others reflect that...slowly and steadily with his new RANG he his trying to break Sona's wall of preachy FIX IT ideals/denial...I love Sonakshi Bose's character, but recently have been very annoyed with her blindness/denial mode ( She seems to be in an unknown depressed state than Dev and only he can help her come out it and be her old self once again )

Sorry. Can not agree with you. Sonakshi needs to communicate as she is the one who did not give a chance to Dev to open up and express his fear or scare. Not every one will be so much like Sonakshi who can undermine the situation that may have created devastating effect in their lives had Dev not reached in time.

For me there is only 1 character who hasn't shown any growth until now from the beginning of the show and that is Mamaji.

saw the episode. dev is who he has always been. his fear of what happened with sonakshi is clouding his judgement, yet again. he is crossing all lines and compromising sonakshi's self rrspect and professionalism. dude has never been able to think beyond what feels right to him. ita ok to be worried and being a little protective but not to the point of controlling her business affairs or acting like a child when she is working. is he really the age they show he is??!!

and what was the point of fire scene though? anyone would be worried in that scenario. makers r losing it again 😡 dev's possessiveness and stalker behavior is old.. where is the new rang?
