Why is Soha more emotionally connected to Dev than Sona? - Page 2

Soha dreaming abt Dev holding her as baby or earlier when she dreamt Dev is in some problems What is realistic is Sona calling up Dev n when he doesnt pick up fast, then reaching to conclusion smthing is wrong. Same with Dev right..he doesnt have such telephathic connection whn Sona is in pain. Soha's reaction might be explained as blood relationship like a mother knows when child in trouble.

Infact Soha shud be able to understand n predict Sona's pain but she seems more affected with Dev's emotions than her mother who has raised her for 7yrs. Soha never notices or talks abt Sona's pov but seems inclined towards Dev. Maybe bcoz she has now met Dev so getting more attached to him n worries abt him..also Dev is showering all his love n focus on Soha compared to Sona who also has to discipline Soha as well.

I read it already Suchi...And that's what is bothering me. Weren't Sona also supposed to have such a soul connection with Dev, now that she has accepted him totally. And wasn't she also lonely and had the void in her, which Dev only could fill?

Generally, it is believed that girls are more closer to their father whereas boys are to their mother, so maybe it's the same here. Apart from the instances mentioned in the other posts one instance which pops up was during Saurabh's wedding fiasco where she was the only one who understood that her father was not at fault.
Also another reason might be that given the circumstances under which Soha was born and brought up she was taught to be strong, independent and perfect. But with Dev coming into picture she is letting go of some her inhibitions as well. A point in case here is the recent engagement situation where she and golu hid the rings, this was something we could not have expected Soha to do if Dev was not in picture.

That's true Suma and being a Papa's girl, I can understand that connection. But my problem is that, with the way it was portrayed during their courtship days of S1, we had felt that connection between Dev & Sona. Then later due to the unfortunate incidents that had happened between them, they lost that connect...and still after reconciling that disconnect is continuing. That's what is bothering me.😕

Similarly soha always carved for her papa .she created her own world with her papa through her drawings she imagined everything how would it be if her papa exists with her...this why I feel she is more connected with Dev rather than sona...

At the same time, I am happy that I got the answer to my question. The bolded lines were more than enough to convey how Soha's cravings for her Papa's love is making her connected with Dev. And since Sona had to hid her cravings deep inside her, covered with her hurt & bad experiences, she is yet to get connected with Dev. Thank you so much dear for this lovely explanation.

And emotional connect between a father and a child and that of a husband-wife is always different. That doesn't mean we can consider one of it to be stronger than the other.

Now coming back to the episode, Sona was aware as she has sent Dev all the mails, he must have gone through them and she needs to be there with him. That's the reason she panicked when she couldn't get through him. Because she knew Dev must be in an emotional mess at that time and after coming to know he was in Kolkata, those tears in her eyes and the pain in her voice made it clear that she can feel what he'll go through there.

For Soha yes she had a dream of her father visiting her in her younger days, when Dev was actually in the hospital to feel the emotions when Soha was born. Soha's connection with her father is always shown this way that either she gets a dream or senses that he's in trouble.

With Sona, she's always there with Dev when he's in trouble. If there wasn't a deep emotional connect she wouldn't have been there always when he needed her the most and here i am talking about the post leap incidences. I don't think there's any need to show the same sort of emotional connect between Dev - Sona and Dev - Soha.
