First of all thanks to each and every one of you who commented here with class and decency without using any crass language for any character or any members. I am glad to see different opinions presented in much amicable manner. Super likes for that.

Tom-Jerry aka Shreya, warm welcome to my thread and super mario hugs dear 🤗

Sorry had a very hectic day and am exhausted to have any sane discussions individually, so please bear with my collective reply. (One of the main reason am not making any posts nowadays)

Three major disappointments I see regarding Asha here is

1) Asha taking Dev's side

Absolutely not !! She is the same classy woman who left with her husband without uttering a word when the "slapgate" happened because she knew words once spoken cannot be taken back. In a relationship, bitter words pierce deep than any sharp weapons. Whether she like it or not , Dev is related to her granddaughter and Sona has invited him to their house even without proper intimation to Bijoy and Asha. Asha can never disrespect Ishwari even outside and we expect her to scream at Dev inside her house, who for now living not just as a mehmaan but her granddaughter's fav father?

Agree with "Vibg" points here, she showed Dev why he is there in the first place. To spend time with Soha or to argue with Sona and Bijoy?! Who would have spanked him to the target yet so gently other than Asha? Asha still don't assert any rights on Dev hence can't be more strict like she is with her husband and daughter. (Infact we all do the same, will any of us control the annoying guests or our own kids bothering them?) Moreover she didn't cajole Dev to be a cook here. He needed a break and he went to that one sane person he felt he can be free with on his own accord and she embraced the calm Dev who is willing to touch Non-Veg for his daughter's sake. Where did favoritsm come here other than compassion and some maturity?

BTW like Ani stated what the hell is Dev doing sitting and cooking, can't he take his phatphatiya and pick Soha taking Golu along and have some Gala time?! Kuch bhi

2) Asha intruding Devakshi's life:

Really? Did Asha iron fisted Sona that she have to live with Dev no matter what? Don't forget Asha is the same lady who supported Sona's decision of returning the money when their self respect mattered the most and has stood as one of the strong pillar of support for Sona being a nanny for her granddaughter all these years. Whatever decisions Devakshi took, its merely because of them both, not Ishwari, not Bijoy and as is definitely not Asha !! Even after Devakshi deciding to have this week long stay in each houses, Sona didn't inform Asha or Bijoy, yet she didn't interfere in their decision. All she wanted was a peaceful atmosphere during her Son's function and now a peaceful environment for Suhana who shouldn't be seeing these bickering parents about whom she has high opinion of! Asha just made this clear to both Sona and Dev if they want to follow their decision in this house they have to maintain some decorum and thats not fighting but talking amicably and I didn't see any intrusion here!

2) She hiding the truth from Bijoy:

This I have to agree with many of you (I am expecting Bijoy's questioning Asha in future episodes for hiding the truth soon) though I can sense why Asha hesitate so far. Bijoy is a kind of person who can never forget though forgive. He will surely jump in front of Mrs.Mondol's house and make a hungama ultimately canceling the rishta had he known this in first place. Some of us even say this rishta shouldn't happen but what fault is "Ronita's" in all this? Asha knows how Saurabh feels about Ronita and she can't see another child of her glooming over.

However I really hope Asha will disclose this sooner to Bijoy and explain the reason for hiding the same to viewers as well calming Bijoy too in the process. Now that even Saurabh knows , there no point in keeping Bijoy clueless!

Frankly all these instances make a tight knit of drama content and should be an enjoyable viewing experience if not nit picked and bashed so much !

Have a great day / night everyone and thanks again for maintaining the decorum on this thread!!

asha has always been my favourite character she always seem to reason things out without letting her ego or pride get in her way...she understands both dev and sona and she is really trying to show both of them the mirror for the sake of soha...

what i dont understand on this forum is why would they have a problem if sona decides she still wants to be with dev...is it an eye for an eye...

can someone state who has the perfect married life...marriage is a work in progress for the strong not the weak...

Deepa, I think the blame Asha is getting is because she is withholding the truth from Bijoy. And that was the root cause of the current problem. It is kind of chain reactions.
1. Asha has not told the theft truth to Bijoy.
2. So Bijoy is passing 'ulta chor kotwal ko daate'type of sarcastic comments to Dev
3. Dev shouting back
4. Sona not tolerating Dev's shouting to Bijoy.
5. Saurabh siding with Sona( he was not aware of the truth)
6. Asha is making peace making effort by silencing Bijoy, Sona and Saurabh

I understand her apprehension but still find her act of not telling the truth to Bijoy inappropriate. Bijoy is a made a fool because his wife is not telling him the truth, which all his family members now know. I really applaud Ronita as she has the guts to tell everything to Saurabh even if her mother was the culprit. That is what is the relationship goal, which Asha failed to do. And lets examine her apprehensions

1. Bijoy will get hyper and cancel the wedding- The best part of Bijoy is he will be upfront about it. He will not take an overdose of sleeping pills and try to stop the wedding. Now when a person is upfront, people can discuss and argue openly. That is when Asha can set an example by showing him the reasons. Saurabh can tell him, Ronita herself told him about her mom's role and she disapproves it. Bijoy will accept Ronita even if he is miffed with her mother. We have seen that in Sona's case. I believe both Ronita's father and Bijoy should be aware of Ronita's mom so that a repeat of such act do not happen. They say a stitch in time saves nine. Dev also could have saved his marriage if he had acted timely to check his mother's insecurity but that is another story altogether. 😊

2. Sona being the reason of Ronita's mom's insecurity - In this context I think Ronita is the one who has to decide. If she is not feeling insecure then there is no problem. The Boses (in fact if Bijoy knows the truth, he will do it) can ask her opinion in this matter.

Withholding truth can only complicate the matter further. Ronita's mom if not checked now will create problem at a later stage.

And telling the truth will have one more benefit. Dev will get a brownie point just the way he got one when he bought a sari for Suhana. Bijoy will appreciate it albeit grudgingly. 😊

Not sure, but I feel she should allow the bad blood to spill out.
I am sure she knows how much Sona has been withholding within herself for past many years. Now she sees even Dev has a lot of bottled up venom.

Why can't she allow them to vent it out.

She can take out Bijoy and tell him the whole story about theft. She does a good job handling Bijoy. No one shuts him up like Asha😆
So I feel the fear of Bijoy breaking off alliance is unfounded.

Once Bijoy gets to know about Ronita's truthfulness, he will love her like his own kid. He really appreciates such high morals in people.

Asha would make a lot more sense if she once in a while empathises with Sona-Bijoy too while Dev is being really mean to them,

@deepsel : Excellent post. Her character is indeed the saving grace in the Bose family today. 👏

But Asha should not hide this truth, whatever the consequences. I am hoping that Asha tells Bijoy the truth about Mrs Mondal and I want Sonakshi to overhear it. Let Bijoy call off the marriage and Saurabh leave home. That would definitely throw Sonakshi off gear and she would fall from the high pedestal created by her. Dev and Asha would be able to handle this situation well, if it happens. But Sonakshi...

Deeps...missing you a lot these days...However, you main post & reply post on page 4 was bang on.
Regarding why Asha is still hiding the theft matter from Bijoy, I think, is not because she now fears of Bijoy calling it off due to his dislike towards Mondols for this act. Rather, it's going to be a shock to Baba to know the reason why Mrs. Mondol acted so and in that shock, we don't know how he is going to react; And in that process, Sona also will come to know the reason, which will be an unexpected shock to her...And even Saurabh also has come to know about it, we are not sure whether he knows, why Mrs. Mondol did so...So, at present, Asha's only aim is to have a peaceful atmosphere at home. And she may be believing that, after the marriage, she will prove it to Mrs. Mondol that Ronita is treated like a daughter in the Bose house, thereby nullifying her fears. And that's one reason, why Asha has suddenly taken the charge of Bose house...And it will continue, until Dev-Sona issues are sorted out.

Bolded - That's exactly why Asha is not disclosing the truth to Baba. Because, Asha knows that right now, Sona will not be handle herself, especially since Dev-Sona relation is strained and to hear Dev took that insaam for her sake will be unbearable for her. Afterall, who better than Asha knows Sona.

Thank you for this much needed post 👏

Although I agree with every single word in your post, below are some of the statements that echoes my thoughts

"What a sad state of world we are living in ! Looks like an eye for an eye is the art of living nowadays"

"To make a better world, wise people say it should start with a better house and a house can be made better only with classy woman like Asha and if we can blame such women there is something definitely fundamentally wrong with our thinking !!"

Like most people here, Asha is my most loved character from the show - she is calm, composed and handles any situation in the most mature and unbiased manner. It was indeed appalling to see people bash her in the last few days.

One of the most used words in this forum (or i should rather say misused words) is 'Self-Respect'. Sometimes I do a sanity check and ask myself if I have learnt or understood the interpretation / meaning of this word incorrectly...or has the definition of this word changed recently?!?!😕 Like you have rightly said an eye for an eye is definitely the art of living nowadays...at least that is what is evident from this forum.

Its always a pleasure to read your posts...please keep them coming.👍🏼

Shreya 😊

Bolded - Shreya...you nailed it...👏👏👏

Agree with some of your points.
Patience , maturity are much in need and we do not need an eye for an eye.

Truth is though mostly underrated. Recently we saw Sourabh comes to know the truth from Ronita. Did we see him breaking? Could not Asha have told atleast him the truth and let him decide.
As for Bijoy, he always gives in when Asha explains or demands. So, I have issues with Asha hiding the truth from Sourabh, Sona and Bijoy. When it comes to Sona, I feel she can face the truth. Atleast she will be better prepared to handle future consequences of Sourabh-Ronita alliance.
Marriage is once in a lifetime decision for many. In India, families of both the boy and the girl are involved too. Truth, as was the above, if hidden, can sometimes lead to marital discord later on in life of all concerned. Its better to start a new life afresh. Had Sourabh come to know the truth from somewhere else later on after he married Ronita, there were chances of MU.

May be I value long term happiness more and don't like taking risks by hiding facts, I did not approve of Asha doing it either.

The second thing, I don't agree with Asha is her standing mute when Dev taunts Bijoy. Again, here I don't want her to shout at Dev. No. All she could have done is stopped both these men right there with warnings. Till now, I have not seen her giving any warning to Dev.
Bijoy-Asha are probably married for 35 yrs or more and I have always witnessed Bijoy standing up for her. It is difficult to see a wife not even saying "Request you to not repeat this" kind of warning to her ex-jamai.

Rest of the times I find Asha is quite sensible. But even sensible people are flawed too. And sensibility too fails to work in certain situations.
