Coming to the point I saw it and noticed that in the hindsight

1. Dev was rude, arrogant with Sona and had no idea how to talk to any person who works for you- treating like a slave. This behaviour was ignored initially bcoz story was bulding up and everyone was looking forward to Dev suhana only

2. One event I remembered was never raised in the forum - Dev selfish motive in talking bad about sona to the bong boy who had come to see Sona.

Dev conspired to make sure that she can't get a job and doesn't marry and go outside delhi. At that time these things were ignored but in the hindsight it showed the true colors of dev and his selfish motives and behaviour. Yuck

Agree with you on this. A MIL is also a DIL. I don't understand why a MIL cant empathize with a DIL or try to understand her POV.
Today I'm a DIL,tomorrow, I'll too bcome a MIL...its pretty obvious I'll have to face different situations to maintain different relationships. If I'll fail to live upto expectations, I don't know but I should be at peace with myself that I am not the reason of anybody else's broken relationships.

My MIL is complete same as Ishwari. More worse I would say. I have a Neha too, with a kid. And no remarriage. I think I have said this earlier, my hubby is thankfully not Dev. Let me explain one scenario
My MIL always has problem if my hubby will spend anything on me, us or my parents. Recently, when he spent for us, she went completely ballistic and started her rant how she sold her bangles to educate my hubby but he is not ready to help his parents when they are in need(Their need was buying gold to gift at other's marriage). My hubby ,obviously felt very sad and down, he talked to me and tried to get over it. But he did not go ahead and offer any money for the gold things because we mutually agreed here. Gifting some one else gold is of less priority than your own household needs. If you don't have the money , gift what you can. No need to show off based on your son's hard-earned money or bcoz your DIL is working. As kids, we are obliged for food, health or fulfill other basic needs for parents. Showing off does not come under this.

Let me also tell you my hubby wasn't like this during his initial few months of marriage...but he learnt and he was/is always willing to learn, is not biased with anyone person's opinion and has his own viewpoint.

And probably that is why I expect Dev's character to grow. The major problem I have with him is his character is stuck one-dimensionally showing no growth or no learning from any circumstances. I understand basic human nature will not change but as humans, we do evolve with time. We try to inculcate new good habits and control our bad ones...atleast try. DevD doesnot even know he has any flaws. I don't know how can he be so successful and yet so ignorant at the same time. Particularly when he married probably 8 yrs ago.

Well, till he does something good, I'll address him as DevD...with the extra D 😆
