Ishwari doesn't have any answers, she is insecure of Sona, her goodness, her intelligence, the fact that Dev loves her is enough.

Sky, from the beginning of the series Bijoy did not have a good opinion about Dev. Dev was someone who did not fit in with his principles what with getting Sonakshi thrown out of her job and then forcing her to work for him, he was not happy about that at all. He only started to warm up to Dev after he heard the other employee tell all the things Dev had done for his daughter and then seeing Dev bring the cake for his wife's birthday and also take care of Sonakshi when she had the accident.

Both Bijoy and Ishwari were partial for their favorite kids Sonakshi and Dev respectively. Both thought their kids were the best and they deserved the best. From their perspective their kids were perfect and they had no need for change and also that their kids never made mistakes.

When Ishwari came to know about Dev loving Sonakshi, she thought that Sonakshi was all wrong for her. Because she saw how Dev changed being with her like hiding things from her, fighting with Sonakshi etc. She wanted her son to have a happy and peaceful life where his wife would listen and follow everything he said. According to her he knows best. This came from the fact that it was Dev's hardwork which had brought them out of poverty, so his decisions should be the best and he knows better.

Bijoy had the same idea about Sonakshi. From his perspective, there was no one better than his daughter, hence she should have nothing less than ideal in everything including a partner. He wanted someone who would care for his daughter and she would be his top most priority forgetting all else. But Dev did not fit this mold. As soon as he saw Sonakshi trying to learn cooking, he became restless. According to him, his daughter had no flaws and hence did not need any change. This is the reason why he decides to go and meet Ishwari when he himself had told his daughter to take time.

In that talk between Ishwari and Bijoy, what came out was the displeasure reagrding this relationship from both sides. Both felt they were getting the shorter end of the stick. That their child is the one who is losing. Neither ishwari nor Bijoy saw that it was not about them. Both held on to their belief that they know their kids and this relationship was not good enough for them. What followed later were all a testimony for their belief.

As much as Ishwari is answerable to Soha, Bijoy is also answerable to Soha. Ishwari needs to explain her insecurity and fear while Bijoy needs to explain his false pride and ego.

It is also about the phrase that Dev told Sonakshi during confession. He said that "He loves her as a man loves a woman". At that time both of them did not fit the description of man and woman. If Dev was "mumma's boy", Sonakshi was "daddy's girl". It was the boy and girl who married and broke up with each other. But now when they put Soha as their priority and start taking decisions and come together, they will become the couple truly representing "man loves a woman". ❤️

It beautifully emphasised the parallel being drawn between Dev and Soha.

Also thought it was interesting that the drawing of Sona and Soha was only black and white, while the one of Dev was in full colour. Interesting implications, given the title of the show.

Very true Sam. If in season 1, Sona brought color to Dev's life. In this season it will be Dev who will bring color to both Sona and Soha's life.

@grace - I understand and completely feel for Soha that she wants her parents to be together and like you said if a 10 year old can still can have wish to see his parents together in spite of all the conflict then Soha definitely expect that from her parents because she has seen a cordial interactions between them..its okay ..but its her adamant stance which is what I am not happy with..Elders of these 2 families never understood these 2 and now even their child is creating such a painful situation for them..which they dont know how to handle..Soha has always supported seen her mother in 6 years its fair she deosnt understand Dev at present so she can not realize his feelings..but she knows her mother too well she always felt her emotions seen her facing hardships then why make Soha revolt so bad when her mother needs her maximum support

Bachhe zid kartey hain karni bhi chahiye..but in certain situations kids have to step back and let their parents control the situations because like I said Dev Sonakshi are not a normal couple ..its hard for them to fight every situation get wounded and give up in the end

My POV no offense please :)

Sad to hear about your younger sister...hope she would be out of that stressful situation asap and will have a happy married life...convey my regards & 🤗 to her.

@bold: Sia, she was very much affected by Natasha's potential entry into Dixit house. Remember that scene where Mami and Nikki are discussing how Dev's room will change once Natasha moves in? Her expressions clearly illustrated that this concept made her very uncomfortable, and I strongly believe that once Natasha entered the house, her insecurity would have set in all the same, though perhaps more gradually. At some point, Dev would have screwed up (being human and all), and Ishwari would have found excuses to blame Natasha.

And this is what I think DQ is trying to say: a lot of Ishwari's so-called "hate" comes from her desperation not to introspect and not turn the spotlight on herself. She would rather blame anyone else when Dev behaves in a less than ideal manner, and because Sona was the person who occupied the role of "Dev's wife" she used her as a scapegoat -- first, as the person who "made" Dev lie and hide things from her, and then as the person who abandoned Dev and left him heartbroken. Her fatal flaw is that she refuses to see her role in both of these behaviours/incidents.

I think that is why they established so firmly that Ishwari actually adored Sona as an individual, right up until the moment she became woman she would have to share Dev with. And unlike in the Natasha's case, she had nothing like the business deal even remotely holding her back from this antagonistic feeling. Ishwari's fear and insecurity has a life of its own and I think the CVs have illustrated really well how it possesses her ability to think rationally/like a mature adult, despite being one.

Like we have discussed before, Dev and Sona, with their respective parents, have to take on the role of parents and discipline, care for, and love them, instead of expecting their parents to take care of them as they did the first time around.

Hey Sam, I liked it how you picked up my thought on natasha from writing and spin the premise around Ishwari's insecurity. While natasha's entry caused insecurity for ishwari, Sona's entry into Dev's life invoked similar emotions of jealousy and insecurity. The reason I am emphasising on this envious nature turning into complete hatred towards sonakshi is because Ishwari is a bad loser and cannot handle someone being a better person than her and that is her inherent nature. I have se points to highlight :

Even if natasha would have married dev, Ishwari would remain insecure but not hating her. Because natasha had no personality and was a people pleaser, compared to Sonakshi who was individualistic, strong, logical and opinionated. Sona couldn't conform to Ishwari's rules of a good bahu, because it was against her nature and values. Ishwari eventually tried to put her down by setting her up for failure.

In dixit household, Ishwari contested in upmanship and flexed her muscles to exercise authority - but sonakshi did not break. Examples - Dev's birthday fiasco, vrat drama, chori ka honeymoon night, canceling Paris trip, calling asha as aunty. So her constant failed efforts to get impulsive reactions from sonakshi, turned her dislike into hatred.

She was scared on Sonakshi's influence at a certain point when she even confessed to her brother that sonakshi is such a good person that dev will forget us.

Such manipulations are inherent qualities in a person. Even till date constantly blaming her and only her for the break up (nor even Dev) and not once thinking about mother-daughter (knowing what a mother stands for) clearly explains her true contempt and feeling of extreme hatred towards sonakshi.

If this doesn't explain her hatred then I don't know what will. Because her turning a blind eye towards her own faults is completely different from constantly blaming one and only one person. You can only do that if you truly hate that person.

I loved almost all of the dialogues today.
So meaningful.
Today's episode had a lot of important points.
1.Soha's clear cut way of stating her wishes and why she is confused.
2. Dev's annoyance at seeing Jatin
3. Devakshi's talk about handling Soha and giving her a happy and carefree life.
4. Their acceptance of their helplessness.
5. Their mutual trust regarding their daughter.
6. And finally their zeal to fix things for Soha no matter where they stand with each other.
Everything was lovely. ❤️
I'm very excited for the upcoming track and the precap promised us more of these lovely episodes!
Looking forward to each of them!😃

I even read a spoiler that Soha will ask them to share the room with her. i.e. she will ask that they live in the same room. 😳 😉
