I cannot begin to express how much I loved today's episode. So many beautiful little details and huge events alike, and most significantly, so many throwbacks and symbolic moments. I am still taking it all in, but here are a few observations for now.

I really love the emphasis that Dev is putting on rest. He is telling Sona, "you rest and heal your wounds; I will take care of Suhana while you do." He leaves her medicine and instructions to sleep for some more time, but Sona is not yet ready to put her full trust in Dev where Suhana is concnerned. I think we will see this changing gradually as he continues to play a nurturing role in both of their lives. I calculated today that we are about 45 episodes into S2 and out of curiosity went to check out where we were in S1 around the same number. I was delighted to find the episodes just after Sona's accident where Dev played a similarly nurturing role and Sona began to accept her feelings for him. Seemed too good a parallel to ignore.

The moment of moments in the episode was of course Soha calling Dev "papa." It reminded me so much of Sona's engagement, where she found herself losing control of her feelings and running towards a collapsed Dev. The flashbacks helped to illustrate that she has been falling in love with her dad for a while now, but needed the fear of losing him to help her realise it. Much like her mumma, she was holding back because she was unsure of how this new relationship would fit into her existing world, but all she needed was a moment where none of that mattered. I just loved how after that Soha didn't waste a single opportunity to say papa. 😆 She must have enjoyed saying it as much as Dev enjoyed hearing it. It was also deeply touching how happy this moment made Sona. Deep down, she wants Dev to be the man she fell in love with for Soha's sake, and secretly for her own.

Dev was on fire today! The man was hitting sixer after sixer after he heard that precious word. All the bitterness gone from his heart, he humbly requested Sona to spend one more day with his daughter and Sona with only a moment's hesitation readily agreed when she saw Soha's face. I love that Dev told Sona she could also stay if it meant spending time with his daughter. He has completely accepted that Sona and Soha come as a unit, and he is ready for that reality.

I love that the first gift he gave his daughter after she acknowledged him as her father was the gift of awareness. He taught her about her own privilege in being able to say both mumma and papa, when there were kids who didn't have that luck. It was clear that Soha's response, illustrating that she understood his lesson pefectly, really touched him, and for a person who grew up not being able to say papa, this must have meant a lot to Dev. This is the best of Dev and the best of Ishwari. It was an amazing throwback to Diwali when Ishwari took time out every year to remember those less fortunate. Here, similarly, when Dev is happy, his first instinct is to share that with people who may not have the privileges he enjoys. Sona had good reason to be totally latto during the time they spent there! 😆

Finally, I loved how they both handled Soha's questions as a team. Dev, instead of trying to make his case, supported what Sona had already told Soha about their relationship; that he couldn't be a good husband. He chose not to confuse her any further but stick to the same foundation that Sona had built. I really appreciated that. In trying to indulge their respective parents, Sona and Dev have inadvertently punished Soha. As DQ mentioned in the last thread, Ishwari and Bijoy are also like children at this stage, who need to be parented by Dev and Sona. With Soha asking all the right questions, they need to focus on indulging the child they have forced into understanding and maturity (Soha) and begin to discipline the kids they have indulged for too long (Bijoy and Ishwari). I think the arrangement to live together will be part of this indulgence. In so many ways, Soha is a manifestation of Dev and Sona's own desires, which they couldn't fight for in the abstract. Maybe now that these desires have a corporal form, in a little person that both of them love and feel responsible for more than anything, they will find it in themselves to really fight that battle to the end!

Last point; I loved that despite it being such a momentous day for Dev, he never once neglected Golu or made him feel unwanted. He made it very clear that Soha is a new and exciting addition to their family, but in no way does that displace Golu's importance and love.

Hello everyone.
I didn't wanted to write much after watching today's segment. Everyone else were discussing about Dev, Sonakshi and Devakshi and here i am stuck with Jotin. I think even Dev is not as much affected by this guy as I am. 😭

Dunno what will i write, so pls bear with me.

Today's episode was nice in terms of story but i find it bit off because of editing and sequencing of scenes. But i guess itna chalta hai. Soha is miniature of Dev and with each episode its getting confirmed. I was actually confused that why Dev gave her medicines in the morning and later realised that he wanted her to take rest and not to exert himself. 😆

Golu is a sweetheart and ATM he is the only one who loves Dev's selflessly. The way he was snapping that motu uncle was adorable.

Papa scene was good and I am glad that Soha accepted it even after Dev losing the race. Now she knows her papa loves her and can do anything for her, but at the same time he can fail also. But she appreciated his effort that's more important. N honestly Mr. Dixit was getting painful for my ears. Although her papa rant was also too much. Poore 5 yrs ki kami nikal di papa papa bol k. 😆 But i guess she was too excited and fascinated for this word that she was adding it her sentences.
It reminded me of my own childhood, i used to say papa papa papa like a bullet train when my dad used to come from out of station. I still do it sometimes for fun, saying papa papa. 😆

Last scene was my fav, we got glimpse of old Dev back and Sona was admiring him. She fell in love with this Dev only. The way he explained Soha was amazing. What i liked the most is that Dev accepted that he was not a good husband and Soha would not want her mother to be sad. He clearly told Soha and it was straight talk. A relationship fails because of two people and here he didn't blamed Sona in front of Soha. He took all the onus and tried to explain his daughter.

Now y soha is behaving like this, when she was very understanding with Sona. I guess its Golu's influence and also she has herself seen her parents together. N how can we forget, she is Devakshi's daughter, Bijoy's natin and Ishwari's poti, zid toh khoon mai hi hai. 😆

Shaheer and Erica were amazing as usual.

I am not impressed with Dev's humility or humbleness or if there is a better word for that when he took the complete blame on himself for his failed relationship with Sonakshi. Hope it doesn't backfire on him . I would have preferred him to be neutral and should have said "your mom and me don't make a good team "

In season 1 he did the same to Sona .He kept saying you are right Ms Bose and you can never go wrong .

@ bold blue. He did this cause Sonakshi said so, even in the contract. Before and after that when he blamed that she is calling me Mr. Dixit because of you multiple times, Sonakshi was very particular that the fault was his and she did not share any onus of that.

Soha has questioned Dev "if you couldn't keep mumma happy, how would you keep me happy". This is also one of the reasons why Dev takes the blame on himself.

It will backfire, but not on Dev but on Sonakshi. If Soha can ask that question to Dev, tomorrow she will ask a similar question to Sonakshi "If you are not able to stand right by papa, how will you stand right by me". Here when I am talking about "standing right",I am referring to the segments regarding Dev staying at Bose house and Bijoy's reaction to it.

It is also true that Dev constantly said that she was always right and could never go wrong. But this was because this is how Sonakshi saw herself and continues to do so. But with Dev coming and staying in Bose house, the reactions that happen in her family will slowly help her realize that she wasn't always right. That she was wrong and she does share blame regarding the breakup. Only when Sonakshi admits it herself, will she tell it to Soha and also to Dev.

This is just my POV...

Forgive me, but I am a bit cynical about this. The way I see it, they have had umpteen opportunities to begin Ishwari's transformation as promised by the original premise (mother to MIL) but they have chosen to dodge it every time. I am not saying they have to make it happen overnight, but any little hint that she is beginning to change would have been great. I saw hope in the transition from when Dev had a fever to the fake pregnancy but they reversed it all when they had Mami reveal it to her instead of Dev and/or Sona. After that, they took the leap to further entrench her insecurities. So the way I see it, they will stall the final transformation until they have one month's notice and then the conclusion that has been in their minds from the beginning will come to pass. Basically, her redemption will always be just around the corner until the show itself has an end date.

Precisely... this was my biggest gripe post wedding. At first I thought that after the 1st breakup devakshi won't marry. They will just continue as lovers. After Dev ki Deewangi, when sonakshi walked out of her engagement, my conclusion was that she will just cut her losses and remain Dev's lover till such time that Ishwari accepts her. They changed gears so suddenly I was zapped.

And like Sam said, every few weeks it looked like Ishwari will change but she doesn't. Dev and Sona kept suffering as lovers and their parents kept messing them up.

Unless both Dev and Sona (inspired by their desire to live a happy life or to give suhana a sturdy foundation in life) don't start working on both Ishwari and Bijoy we will keep seeing these tiny tracks within the bigger picture. It's an amazing love story. They do a great job of paying attention to detail. Screenplay and dialogues are a star. But nothing has changed for Ishwari because nothing has been done about it.

------------
With regards to the episode tonight. What a beauty. I don't have much to add. Agree with all the viewpoints. Have been watching the last few minutes in repeat. I love how the makers have used Suhana to bring devakshi to a point where they are having to answer why can they not live together. They kept telling themselves and others why they split. Now they need to find a convincing reason for why they can't make it work. Exactly what I had been waiting for. You wanna split, you split. But be honest to your relationship and make sure you have a good enough reason.

@Shavi

Very nicely explained.

I am eager to know what would be the trigger which will make Sonakshi realize her mistake .

The highlight of the episode that was no one can dispute was Soha calling out Mr. Dixit, Papa. The confession and revelation background score playing was perfect for the moment as well.

One thing I loved about the sequence was the use of symbolisms in injuries sustained. Both, Dev and Sonakshi injured themselves on their one foot signifying that both of there grounds are shaky currently.
Dev, with him stumbling through the pain of Sonakshi's separation and the realization that his mother wasn't a goddess but a flawed human being with insecurities.
Sona, has been playing juggling on one leg in past seven years with her mountain of responsibilities and a child to bring up by being a parent and a friend.

Both are finding healing with a crutch they had lost seven years ago. Each other and a manifestation of there love in Soha.

The injury while appearing to be a minor scratch was actually much deeper. Dev's blood was oozing out reflecting him wearing his emotions on his sleeve still while Sona's sprain was more of an internal injury reflecting on her ability to mask perfection even when she is completely shattered from the inside. Both have unwillingly recognized that in each other as well because of which the bitterness and anger hovering over there emotions has faded quite a bit. It's going to be more challenging for Sona hereon forth since she won't reveal the amount of pain bothering her until probed by someone she trusts fully. -and it won't be Bijoy.

Dev's inclusion as Papa in Soha's life is allowing her to experience freedom and liberation in a disciplined lifestyle her mother has created for her. I can't blame Sonakshi for molding Soha after herself in those regards. You can't be playing with a child when you have to stick to a time table. With two parents, it's easier to juggle the role of good cop, bad cop then being a single parent.

I liked how Golu took the trophy from the teacher to hand it to Dev. The kid might be young and but his BigCha isn't just a father like figure for him but also a best friend.

I am curious at his reaction when he finds out that instead of BigChi coming to live with them, BigCha would have to go to Soha. Dev's vacuum in Dixit household has been used by Vicky and GKB multiple times for there own benefit. Weather RR would try to exploit Golu is something I expect might happen even if Golu's love and admiration for his BigCha conquers all.

As for Soha, I hope to see her seeking to be pampered by her father the way she doesn't allow Bijoy or Jotin to pamper her (picking up in arms etc.). Dev also calls Suhana, Suhana instead of Soha while Golu has recently started calling her Soha. It would be great to get a moment where Suhana requests Dev to call her Soha.

edited to add;
I absolutely loved Soha being stubborn. Since day one Soha has been pampered by Boses even though they treat her like a individual. Something thats not imaginable in desi society. She calls her grandmother by her name, imposes her own rules on how people should treat her by imitating her mother and probably does pull pranks despite not lying to people around her (when Sonakshi called her out when she saw Golu ke BigCha). Both her parents are business owners and she was quick to recognize the leverage she has with both of her parents willing to provide her anything not just because they care for her but also because both WANT to live with her as well.

Funny how Vicky's probing to Dev always landed him in more trouble whereas his son's push to Soha is going to make her parents confront there past and untangle there complaints.
