Since we are discussing about Gul's shows,I wish to say something too.I do not support Shivaay for everything he has done to Anika and I never will.Moreoever Ishqbaaz is one show which treats it's FLs like trash. It has degraded women in every possible manner. This is why I left watching it long back.
It's just that I was surprised when Tia said that Shivaay declared Anika's honour to be equivalent to his honour.Because this was something which I had never ever expected from a man like Shivaay.

The thing with Gul Khan's shows is that they are predictable.Rich, snooty guy and a happy go lucky girl are paired opp each other.ML takes the FL for granted and in the worst cases the FLs are insulted excessively. Two examples are IB and Qubool Hai during its later seasons.
This factor makes the show's distasteful. However the viewers are not surprised because they are prepared for it.They know how the ML is.

But here in the case of KRPKAB,the audience was promised something different. The Dev Dixit whom we had seen in the promos seemed to be a matured, sensible and sorted out individual. The reason why Dev became popular is because he was not like the typical angry young men who turn into douchebags in Gul shows.
Later on it was shocking to see the changes in his character.First of all he ditched Sona when Ishwari consumed pills. Then his stalking, bullying Ritvick and Sona, etc. However there was still hope. But after marriage, his character degraded like anything. The final nail in the coffin were his words to Sona before their 2nd breakup.Post leap,we all know how he is.He has become intolerable. It's shocking when the character on whom you had a lot of hopes turns out to be something else altogether

Since I am not following Ishqbaaz,I don't know how Shivaay's character is right now.But I never had any expectations from his character because I knew how Gul works. Therefore his sudden move to take a stand for Anika's honour was surprising for me.

Apart from this I think that both Dev and Shivaay are jerks of the highest order. No one is better from the other.

Regarding Gul Heroes,Maan was the most well written character in my opinion. He was not abusive and he was dignified. Then come Asad and ASR.

As for these 'romantic' scenes with a twist of 'tashan'.

Dev flirting with Golu's teacher and then admitting that he's always loved one woman - I agree when it is said that he essentially means Sonakshi and not Soha. This is something I don't doubt that the only women Dev truly ever loved was Sona and still is. However, Dev doesn't seem to realize that 'just love' is not enough to lead a good martial life which exactly why their marriage fell apart.

As for Sona, I have said this before too that her love for Dev is still buried deep inside of her. She's been able to dust it under the carpet and wasn't put in situation in those years she's not been with him that it comes resurfacing. When he was tying her up, I don't think she found it 'romantic' or anything. For just a few seconds, she was lost in Dev's eyes, he still affects her and that's there. May be, not as strongly as he used to but there's an underlying affection, familiarity, nostalgia, the old essence of love lingering around in Sonakshi's case. It's not 'I want to get back with him' kind of love. She misses and yearns for the kind of love she lived for a short period with Dev.

Did I find it romantic? LOL NO! 😆 When I think of their old scenes that I really liked, the ones which had me gushing with feels, these scenes are just an attempt to sell their love story with forced romantic scenes. The only reaction these scenes fetch from is, 'ah, ShaRica have a great chemistry', that's it.

Sonakhi agreeing to play BB game and not revealing Soha the truth - This is quite self-explanatory, isn't it? Sonakshi is not the kind of a mother who would tarnish Dev's image infront of Soha especially when she too wants the father-daughter to bond. As for agreeing to play the game, Sona has shown before too to not take challenges lightly. She's essentially a woman of self-respect but then there's always a little underlying egoistic shades in everyone. I'm not sure why exactly she felt the need to accept Dev's dancing proposal though. 😆

Going by some spoilers I came across, Dev gets hurts while completing some running/race sorta competition and Soha calls him 'papa' then. And I'm like, bas? itne mein hi kaam hogaya? 😳 I had posted a prediction theory in the previous thread that may be GKB-Vicky's plan would put Soha's life in danger, Dev saves her and that's when she calls him 'papa'. But no, if its Dev, writers always choose the easier way out to get him things/people he wants.

@Bold - I beg to differ here. Like I already explained why, Dev is still a lot better than the other male leads Hindi tv shows(particularly Ekta's and Gul's) have had. If he just realizes, owns up to his mistakes and repents for them sincerely, I do think there's a scope for proper redemption and forgiveness.

Yeah agreed, the only male leads of Gul who were a lot better than her other male leads are Asad (QH S1) and then ASR. I haven't seen much of Maan-Geet, so, I wouldn't know. Also, agreed on the part where you said the audiences know how Gul's mind works and hence crapfest from the ML's doesn't really surprise us. But Dev's managed to shock us because this is something we never expected from him.

Seriously CVs make Dev get everything v easily and quickly. It just required some deal cancellation and some sports competition for Soha to call him papa. I really expected Dev and Soha to go through some extraordinary situation (which wud have build more drama too) for this to happen. I even wanted Dev to stay with Boses for winning their trust but alas. No hopes from this serial. I ll also try and detach myself from the characters and then watch this as these days Ishwari on screen really disturbs my sleep 😔

This is what I had posted in the Summer Camp begins thread. If they anyway had to make Soha call Dev 'papa' which anyway was going to happen, doesn't this way seem a lot better than what they're going to do (Soha calling him papa because he gets himself hurt while completing some race competition). 🤔

So here's how I think its going to go.

Dev right now is only playing Sonakshi, it gives him immense pleasure to rile her up, to get a word from her, to get a reaction from her, to even get a glance from her. It works like an antidote to his bruised and defeated heart of a lover/husband. As twisted (&pathetic) as it is, he still loves her and that's quite apparent.

I think Sona's brushed her love for Dev under the carpet, isn't as affected as she used to get, has a lot more calmer and no nonsense approach to his lofergiri but this summer camp might cause it to resurface again. So while Dev's only intention right now is to get Soha for himself, he'll continue to play Sona but will eventually go, 'haila, mujhe toh Sonakshi se ab bhi pyaar hai'.

I think he'll end up saving Soha's life (probably even Sona's as it'll make a stronger case for 'papa bulayegi' andolan) or will save her from some grave situation which will cause Soha to accept him as 'papa' (I think GKB's plan is going to fail this time or Dev will somehow abort whatever situation she plans to put them into).

There you have Dev earning plus points from Soha (for saving her and her mother) and Sona. Sona might struggle internally initially but when Soha would ask them to get together for her sake, she won't be able to deny her request. Dev's newly earned status of a good father plus her own feelings resurfacing wouldn't help her case either.

Bose family would probably oppose it initially and Jatin perhaps might convince both Sona & her family to give it a second shot for Soha's sake. Three of them stay together (most likely Ishwari nivas), Soha will bond with all family members, receive parental love and Dev-Sona gradually grow closer to back in love again. Lo, hogayi DevAkshi ki happy reunion. We might get a dialogue or two from Dev-Ishwari in the name of 'redemption' as a consolation prize.

Please don't throw chappals at me but I'm pretty sure this is how it'll go, more or less. 😆 I'll probably change my brain settings to 'it's not DevAkshi' to 'it's ShaRica' and I'll be able to digest it like I could digest the precap. 😆

Once this happens, the show will end with Soha and her sibling looking happily with Boses, Dickshits, Mondols etc all in one hospital room and together for the two kids...all harmony.

I doubt the TRPs or the channel will allow the show to run after all this.😆😆😆

True that. I dont mind Dev and Sona even after all these Dev truly realizes his crimes and apologizes unconditionally for that without having any demand or expectation of her return. May be that would melt my heart for him. But it shouldn't be like Ishwari's type of apology - I already said sorry na so I should be and am forgiven OK ?? 😡 ! ... 😆

Prerna always had soft corner for that man, and despite all flaws Anurag was really a man who would apologize at the drop of his hat once he realizes his mistakes . Yes, the show was good in that aspect. It showed how a woman can truly feel sorry or sympathetic for an unfortunate man, but would always prefer to spend her life with a man and family who can give her the due respect that she deserves.

I cannot believe storywise one day I have to call KZK better than any show 🤣 . Thanks to Durjoy Dutt he made even that shitty story KZK look like a gem 😆

Perfectly put👏
For Dev in S1, there was always hope. But in S2, you have to be a real die-hard optimist to have hope...still there is some glimmer.

Cant comment on other shows bcoz I havent ever watched a show of Gul's ...ie. fully, I just peep in now and then.

May be bcoz I still catch the S1 old epi, I can never say I have lost hope for Dev. Its very difficult to forget what this character did at the beginning of the show...I used to be so proud of krpkab then.

😆 Could it be more shallow ?? 😆

It's like Ishwari asking Sona to prepare Besan ka Halwa flawlessly and if she succeeds in that, she would happily and whole-heartedly accept Sona as her DIL 😆 .

Agreed. The only woman he ever loved was Sona. But as you said he failed to realise that only love is not enough to sustain a relationship.Trust and respect are the other two essential pillars.I find this situation to be weirdly similar to Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine's case.Napoleon divorced Josephine because she couldn't give him an heir. But he remained in love with her throughout his life.He even admitted once that though he loved Josephine,he could not respect her.

Hmmm,I am still not convinced with her behaviour😆Yes she had loved him deeply once and it's not unnatural of people to be affected by the love which they had for someone. But whenever I look at the circumstances under which Dev and Sona separated and whatever Sona had to go through because of Dev then I find it impossible for her to harbour any kind of affection for him.

Did I find it romantic? There old romantic scenes did have an unparalleled charmEspecially the confession. It was mindblowing. These scenes lack the feel, the intensity which the previous scenes had.Maybe it was because of the equation of the characters. Now it does look forced but ShaRica's acting makes it watchable.

Agree with you here. She did what she felt was right for her daughter. But accepting the dancing proposal was unnecessary.

That's one of my problems with Dev.He always gets away easily. He never had to work for anything.Eventertainment when he wanted Sona,Ishwari got her for him.

@Guddi:
There was a dialogue in Badri ki Dulhania where Alia's character says Love is so imp for her. But with that respect also has to be there. Without respect only love wont work.

This dialogue was so apt for krpkab as of today. Now, how Dev will earn respect from Sona is beyond me...it seems next to impossible. As a father ...yes but never as a life-partner. So, probably they would be better off doing joint parenting.

Cant say krpkab is worse than KZK...but I like Sonakshi Bose way better than Prerna. Mr.Bajaj is my all-time fav on telly. I doubt leaving Ram Kapoor anyone can match him.
