@tia- I usually enjoy reading your posts and randomly came across your last one on this thread today so I feel obligated to post this (please forgive the interference😆)..I think the first and foremost rule while watching an Indian show is to make sure you don't get emotionally invested in it. Cos trust me, its really not worth it..The makers only care about drama and TRPs, the actors only care about money and of course the popularity and the channel only cares about making profit out of it..We watch a show for timepass/entertainment/out of sheer habit. And most of us have enough problems/issues in real life. We watch serials/films as a means of entertainment/distraction. So is it really worth getting invested and losing your peace of mind over a random daily soap? Trust me when I say this cos I have been through it and I was really invested in this daily soap a few years back and it got brutally ruined one fine day..I remember being actually depressed for a couple of days and the futility of it all dawned on me in a week's time 😆None of the shows on TV are brilliant to begin with. They oscillate between being decent to utter rubbish. I saw you mentioned Ishqbaaz. That show has shown some of the most disrespectful things ever on Indian TV. Gul made the female lead apologize to her stalker/molester and touch his feet for forgiveness just to prove she is an ideal bahu. And you have a brother who is bending over-backwards just to get his sister married to this worthless guy cos he thinks she is pregnant. So yes, I dont think KRP is the absolute worst (its as bad as the rest of the soaps)..Every single show on TV right now is utterly regressive and full of inane drama..The best way to watch it is with a detached mind and the moment it starts disturbing you, take a break..I did that with KRP at one point anyway cos I couldn't take Ishwari's disturbing obsession with Dev and never got back to regularly following it post that 😆 Anyways, to cut the long story short, the makers are busy selling the 'love story' and everyone involved is making money out of it..So its really unfair that we lose our head over it cos the irony of it all is that its a fictional show we watch for entertainment😆 This is the longest essay I have written in a while but I feel bad when I see ppl getting depressed/disturbed watching soaps so I feel compelled to tell them to let it be and watch with the least emotional investment possible (been there done that you see😆)..No offense meant :)
