Chapter Three

Dev looked on as Sona continued ..."maana ki Bunny bohot pyaar karta hai Natasha se, par uncle mujhe nahin lagta ki woh Bunny keliye sahi hai...I seriously feel she's not the right one for him...Bunny tu jaldbaazi kar raha hai...I think ki tujhe aur thoda sochna chahiye"...Dev got up from his seat enraged...he dragged Sona by her hand and took her to his room...there were a lot of questions in his mind...and he would compel Sona to answer them all before she left...pulling her inside he locked the door.

"yeh sab kya tha Cheeku...mujhe laga tha ki tu meri help karegi , mom dad ko convince karne mein...par yeh sab kya kar diya tune...I mean main jaanta hoon ki Natasha tujhe kuch khaas pasand nahin hai...par atleast mere baare mein to sochti...meri feelings ki koi kadar nahin hai teri nazroan mein?"...yelled an angered Dev..."teri feelings ke bare mein soch kar hi to mana kar rahi hoon tujhe Bunny...meri baat ko samajhni ki koshish karo...Natasha tere liye sahi nahin hai...woh sirf teri acchai ka fayda utha rahi hai...woh tujhse nahin tere paison se pyaar karti hai Bunny"...Sona tried to put her concern across..."oh please yaar Cheeku...not again...tu har baar use galat kyun prove karna chahti hai...aur tu yeh kis bina pe keh rahi hai ki woh mujhse nahin mere paison se pyaar karti hai?"

A golden opportunity to show him the proof she had captured last night had just arrived..."kyunki woh tujhe dhoka de rahi hai...tere peeth peeche uska aur bhi ladkoan se affair hai Bunny...tujhe yakeen nahin aata toh yeh video dekh...jo maine kal raat apni aankhoan se dekha woh sab jhoot nahin tha"...Dev gave an unbelievable' look to her as she pulled out her phone and played the video which had Natasha smooching that random guy...for a second it seemed like Dev had frozen on his spot...shock overtook him as he saw the love of his life locking lips with some other man...rage took over him as he couldn't believe Natasha was cheating him upright...collecting himself he pulled out his phone and dialed Natasha's number..."kahan ho tum...abhi isi waqt mujhe mee ghar ke paas waale park mein milo...mujhe tumse jaroori baat karni hai"...he cut the call before Natasha could answer back...she was thoroughly confused as to why he seemed to be in some sort of hurry to meet her...she quickly left her house to meet Dev as Dev pulled Sona along with him to the park.

Natasha was about to hug Dev as Dev signaled her to stop...his face held a serious expression...the fact that Sona was accompanying him to the park was enough to give negative vibes to Natasha ...'iss baar pata nahin kaunsi patti padhake layi hai yeh apne BUNNY ko'...she thought...she was brought of her trance by Dev's hoarse voice..."kal raat kahan thi tum?"...he wanted to catch her off-guard..."kal raat main woh...haan main apne friend se milne gayi thi...kyun lekin tum yeh sab kyun pooch rahe ho?"...she stammered as she feared of revealing the truth..."yeh kaunsa tareeka hota hai apne friend se milne ka?"...Dev showed her the video on Sona's phone as she looked on stunned, while Dev's anger was building up inch-by-inch.

But the wicked girl being as wicked as she is already had a lie up her sleeve...the moment Dev opened his mouth to question her about her infidelity, he was forced to gobble back his words as there she was sobbing inconsolably...Dev couldn't decipher what she was upto when she started off with the greatest acts of her life..."mujhe pata tha ki yeh ladki humein kabhi ek nahin hone degi...kuch na kuch jaroor karegi yeh jisse humara rishta toot jaye...aur tum Dev, isne tumse kuch kahaan nahin kit um jhat se iski baat maan lete ho...meri to jaise koi value hi nahin hai tumhari life mein...job hi hai bas tumhari yeh Cheeku hai...agar isiki saari baatein manani thi toh phir mujhse pyaar hi kyun kiya?"...Dev looked on helpless as Natasha continued with her blame game.

"tum kehna kya chahti ho Natasha...jo bhi kehna hai saaf saaf kaho...bina wajah Sona ko blame karna band karo...agar khud ko sahi prove karne keliye koi saboot hai tumhare paas to batao...warna yeh jhoote aansu tapkana band karo"...Dev was in his no-nonsense mood today..."pata tha mujhe ...har baar Sita jee ko hi agni pariksha deni padti hai...main bhi doongi...tumhe sach janana hai na...ruko, main tumhe sachai se waakif karaungi"...Sona rolled her eyes as Natasha compared herself to Sita jee...did she even know who Sita jee is?...stupid girl...what proof was she talking about...the video clearly shows her smooching a guy and she had the guts to stand there and claim herself to be right?...Sona was snapped out of trance as a car stopped by and the same guy with whom Natasha was busy romancing in the car stepped out of it...seeing him approach them Natasha continued with her evergreen drama.

"isse milo Dev ...yeh wahi ladka hai jiske saath mera video liya gaya hai...kyun Sonakshi ...isi ke saath dekha than a tumne mujhe hotel ke bahar"...Sona nodded positively all confused..."Rohan, yeh Dev hai mere boyfriend...inhe aur inki best friend ko lagta hai mera tumhare saath affair chal raha hai...please tum inhe job hi sach hai bata do"...Dev scrunched his eyebrows as he waited eagerly for Rohit to tell him the truth..."Dev sir, woh actually job hi aapne aur aapki friend ne dekha woh sirf aadha adhoora sach tha...poora sach yeh hai"...Rohan held out his phone containing another video which seemed to be a continuation of the one Sona had showed Dev some while ago...this video had the set up of what looked like a film...there were lot of people present around Natasha and Rohan and they seemed to be congratulating them for completing the scene successfully...Natasha and Rohan seemed to be extremely professional with each other and moved into opposite direction once the crew disbursed.

Dev was getting all the more confused with the happenings..."koi mujhe batayega ki yeh sab kya ho raha hai...this all is so confusing"..."Dev sir yeh humare web series ki shooting chal rahi hai...jismein main aur Natasha as main leads kaam kar rahe hain...aur yeh jo setup aapne dekha woh darasal hum ek intimate scene ki shooting kar rahe the...aap to jaante hai na ki yeh sab hum actors keliye bohot aam si baat hai...apni rozi roti keliye humein yeh sab karna padta hai...par shayad aapki dost ne humein galat samajh liya...actually agar woh humein wahi confront kar leti to baat itni aage na badhti...but I guess this was all destined to happen...Natasha actually nahin chahti thi ki aapko yeh baat kabhi pata chale ki woh financial crisis se gujar rahi hai...apne ghar ke kharche uthane keliye use yeh sab karna padta hai apna mann maarkar"...Dev looked on apologetically at Natasha as she signaled Rohan to leave.

"Natasha tumhare ghar pe itni problems hai paise ko lekar aur tumne mujhe bataya tak nahin...kya hum itna bhi share nahin kar sakte?"...Natasha sobbed more loudly gaining all of Dev's attention..."aur kya karti batakar?...tumse madad leti...taaki tumhari yeh dost phir se mujhe lalchi hone ka tag de deti...main thak chuki hoon iss sab se Dev...isiliye jab main tumse lunch pe mili thi to maine tumse mujhe kiss karne ko kahaan tha...main chahti thi ki meri life ka sabse pehla kiss main uss insaan ko karu jisse main saccha pyaar karti hoon...uske baad mein tumhe sabkuch batana chahti thi...iss scene ke bare mein bhi...par tum to disturbed hokar mujhe ghar chodkar chalegaye...mujhe isi baat ka darr tha ki kahin tum mujhe galat na samajh baitho...it's a part of the profession I have chosen Dev...aaj kal industry mein yeh sabkuch bohot aam hai...par tumhara shak dekhkar aisa lag raha hai ki humein iss rishte ko yahi khatam kar dena chahiye"...Dev hugged her comforting her as he was feeling terribly guilty..."I'm sorry Nats...maine tumhe galat samjha...I swear aage se aisa nahin hoga...I promise I'll trust you forever...please mujhe chod kar jaane ki baat mat karo...aur haan aaj ke baad yeh sab acting vagera karne ki jaroorat nahin hai...aaj se tumahri family ki jimmedari meri...tumhare job hi problems hai unhe main handle kar loonga...main mom se kehkar agle hafte ka hi muhurat nikalwata hoon...hum agle hafte hi shaadi karenge"...he kept on hugging her as if his life was dependent on her being around him...but she was busy smirking at the person standing at a little distance away from them.

Sona had been quiet all this while...somewhere deep down she knew that all this was just a farce... Natasha had yet again succeeded in fooling Dev...but words refused to come out of her mouth...she was hell shocked at the turn of events this evening...she knew her bestie was walking towards a path of self-destruction but there was nothing she could do to stop him...she was lost in her thoughts when Dev called out to her..."Cheeku kitni baar kahan hai tumse...stop taking impulsive decisions...tumne dekha na kitna bada blunder ho jaata agar main tumhari baat pe aise hi bharosa kar leta aur Natasha se bina mile apna rishta tod deta...kam se kam mujhe yeh sab dikhane se pehle usse baat to kar leti...itni badi misunderstanding hone se tal jaati...chodo ab jo hua so hua...tumse galti hui hai to ab tum ise thik karogi...Natasha se maafi mango aur iss baat ko yahi khatam karo".

"par Bunny jab meri koi galti hi nahin hai to main isse maafi kyun maangu?...yeh ladki jhoot bol rahi hai Bunny...tumhe bewakoof bana rahi hai...tum iski baatoan mein believe mat karo"...Sona was stopped abruptly mid-sentence by an agitated Dev..."bas Sonakshi...bohot bol chuki tum aur bohot sun liya Natasha ne...jitna keh raha hoon utna karo aur chalo yahaan se...abhi isi waqt maafi mango Nats se "...Sonakshi...did he just address her by her name instead of her petname...so this girl had become so important for him in his life that he didn't think twice before making his best friend of 20yrs apologize to a girl he had met just a year back...with no option left Sona meekly mouthed a sorry' to Natasha as Dev dragged her back to the car...pushing her inside the car he went off to the driver's seat as Sona looked back to see if Natasha was still standing there...tears rolled down her eyes as she saw Rohan make an appearance back again and Natasha just lapped at his lips at once...everything was happening right under Dev's nose and he just refused to look at it...wish she could do something for him.

Dev got down from the car hurriedly and walked inside Dixit Niwas...this must have been the first time in years that he had not waited for Sona to get down from the car and accompany him inside...Sona walked in behind him all lost as he announced to one and all once he entered the living room..."mom ab sab kuch sorted hai...Sona ko job hi galat faimi thi ab sulajh chuki hai...aap apne pandit se kehkar meri aur Natasha ki shaadi keliye agle hafte ka hi muhurat nikalwayiye...main nahin chahta ki Sona ko phir se koi galatfaimi ho"...amidst all his taunts and announcements there were only two people who noticed Dev addressing Sona by her real name...one was a saddened Sonakshi herself...and the other one was triumphant Ishwari Dixit, who could notice Dev and Sona's friendship developing a crack.
