I have not watched season 1 of this show, hence my question. I am wondering whether it is Eshwari who engineered the separation or is it Vicky who caused it?

both! but mostly Ishwari. Vicky took advantage of situations created by her.

Then I would say you've seriously missed something! Pls go and watch Season 1 then you will understand why this fandom is so crazy and in love with Devakshi!

I'd say multiple people engineered the seperation the seeds of which were sown by 2 in compatible people getting together.
