I watched that movie ages ago and that too only first half. I guess the point the movie was trying to make is people don't go for extra marital affair just cause their partners are bad or not giving enough time. They just could not fit in. That was the whole point of Maya/rani no matter how amazing Abhi was she was never in love. Srk was jerk cause he let his injury become so bitter that he started to become jealous of his own wife's success. And public perception of affair is two people having sex outside of marriage, and the movie failed there. They built up the affair but hotel part was cringy. Srk came across somewhat of a bully who pushed Maya. And Maya was a weak woman to begin with. I remember in Bollywood forum someone once said Maya threw dev/srk under bus when Abhi asked who started the affair or something like that but even she went to the hotel room right?😆 she never took a stand and srk wasn't a sympathetic character. If the movie showed Abhi or preity as negative maybe we would have rooted for them. But when they left I felt nothing for them, even cheered for Abhi and P that good riddance they are free from bullshit marriage.

Wow writing this I am getting parallel..Dev/srk is dev shaheer who got hurt due to his own fault and jealous of his wife who has everything and who worked hard. Maya is probably Ishwari who is a weak Character and never accepts her own mistake.
