That was precisely the point of that last minute reaction from sona... Its a story point. Both Dev & Sona need to see what they are doing to their child to be able to come to their senses

Good going guys.👏Loved the different perspectives here.

Now coming to the episode, I really loved it. The picture was getting clearer.😃

What I felt was that Sona had been planning this confrontation for some time now and just delayed due to multiple reasons. She wanted Dev to know about Soha without her telling this to him directly and confront her. She wanted him to come to her. Her ego and her father's expectations played an equal part in her delaying this added to her fear of the outcome.

Dev understood what Sona wanted. But he played a businessman's game yesterday. He was ecstatic on his new found knowledge and wanted to start living the life he had lost for the last 7 years. He wanted to make his own team with his daughter and then confront Sona. As a business man thinking out of the box and doing, contrary to others expectation had played a big part in his success. But as usual he failed to understand the emotional ramifications his disclosing of the true nature of their relationship will bring forth in his 6 year old daughter. Her nature, maturity and also her talk everything reminded him so much of Sona that this might also have played in him going forward with the revelation.

Soha trusts her mother absolutely. There is no may be for her and she idolizes her mother. She had been treated as an adult or as an individual with as much decision making capacity as an adult by the Boses. She views the world through their eyes and she is more comfortable with adults because of this. This might be the reason she was able to befriend Golu's bigcha. But this view hadn't prepared her for this truth. She didn't have any template or example to fall back on for this scenario. Added to this confusion she felt guilty of being happy with someone who made her mother unhappy and also that she broke her promise to her mother. She had no body to turn to in that hour of need and she simply escaped from there. Her mind is now full of doubts and questions and she fears it herself. She don't want to doubt her mother or her belief's and that is exactly what she feels.

Soha running away from him and almost having an accident woke up Dev the father. To know that he was a father and in the next moment to see her almost getting killed would have finished him off. He accepted that nothing was worth his daughter's happiness and safety.

As soon as Sona understood that Dev have met Soha and revealed to her that he was her dad she rushed to see her daughter. She saw how lost her daughter was and also where her mind was. She felt guilty that she failed as a mother to protect her from this eventuality. She kept her ego and pride over her daughters emotions and waited for Dev to make the move first. And by doing so she lost the upper hand in this. Now she was forced to keep everything apart and make that call to her daughter's father which should have been done earlier. Sona made the call to Dev to make him back off for the time being so that she will get some time to prepare Soha. She is not ready to face Soha's questions and doubts yet until she meets Dev and understand where he stands. She will eat the humble pie now and will make him eat one too.😆

Both Dev and Sona had to see Soha like this to wake up from their state of inertia and also to stop playing their games and put their daughter their first and only priority. Chalo better late than never because the way they both behaved they don't deserve Soha. But they have got just one more chance to make it right.

Amazing analysis Geena, you simply nailed it.
I read so many posts about Sona being a bad mother because she excused herself after seeing Soha in a shocked sort-of state. I think what she did was a temporary halt which was important for a guardian to frame the right answers for the questions that Soha would put forth. Wish she had applied her mind before and already shared Dev's picture with Soha. You also expressed Dev's stance quite well. I feel he should have first confronted Sonakshi, but given his nature, we couldn't have expected this from him. Then I felt she should have called/ informed Sonakshi immediately after his meeting with Soha and realizing that she is extremely disturbed. But his arrogance in the precap where he wants upmanship again is a low act in my opinion. His mind immediately started playing games with Sonakshi, even after the biggest possible revelation of his life. I pity the guy's thought process. Lets see where is this heading.

Thank you Sia. Regarding the precap I want to see how it plays out. He will not do anything that will take his daughter away from him. But Sona has to answer those questions of his. And don't fall for the way he tries to irritate her. He won't like to show her how hurt he is now by what she did. She was never the vindictive type and he would have never believed her capable of such a deceitful act.Let us just wait for it to play out.😃

Ok you have great credibility and I like your act of optimism on Dev Dixit, Geena.
But warning you - if the precap played out the the way I described, then you either switch with me or we are at loggerheads because I won't be ale to 'understand' Dev anymore. If you are right, then I will be Team Dev with you. 😉

Regarding your case, we all are a victim of circumstances. For me and my parents it was easy to take tough decisions because I was well educated and financially independent. Most probably your mother being from an earlier generation was not. It wouldn't have been easy for your grandparents to provide the financial support she needed. You yourself have said that they had four other daughters. Further the social scenario was very different 20-25 years ago.

In life decisions are never easy and can never be fair to everyone. I can only feel sorry for what you all went through and hope everything works well for you all now. But believe me your grandparents too would never have slept easy thinking about you all.

In the show also, I have never considered Sona wrong for leaving Dev nor do I want her to reconcile without Dev realising his mistakes. But yes I do want them to have their happily ever after. Call me a romantic at heart but it is obvious that there is a lot of love between the two.

Regarding Bijoy being correct, my father also faced similar situations with me and do you know what he did - asked me - 'What do you want ? Are you sure you will be happy about this decision? Are you totally over him? Please don't care about what was said to us by your inlaws. Our topmost priority is that you stay happy. If you are happy, we will automatically be happy. But, If you are sure in your decision, we are always there with you . '

Now you still think Bijoy is right?

PS: I am a typical Indian. if my ex had been a good father for my son, I most probably would have stayed on in spite of everything . Let the feminist brigade lynch me for this😆

Ofcourse your dad the right thing. We know its right only because it worked well for both you and your son.

My grandparents were wrong because they made a choice out of fear of society and selfishness, not lack of money - my grandad has been a super millionaire since he was 30! - and generally swayed by my dad's love for his children. I know they were wrong only because it didn't work for my siblings and my mum. My parents separated after a huge court/police case after we 3 left home. We 5 live in 5 different countries rather happily now.

To me, Bijoy is right because he challenges Sonakshi to think differently. Its his home his family his prerogative. It will be wrong if Sonakshi bases her decision solely on her dad's opinion. We all need a sounding board - some sounds are absorbed and some are reflected, some are refracted!

Let me also say here that I don't think Ishwari is outright wrong. It is wrong when she chose to be hurtful to Sona or just plain manipulative. I also think it is wrong that Dev couldn't think beyond his mother's wishes.

No one other than your son can say if the choice you made is right or wrong.

From my experience, children don't need many adults in the immediate family, drama is freely available in our society, all children need is STABILITY. It is parents' job to show what adulthood holds for children. If 2 adults can't show what love is at least don't show children indifference or hate. The guilt that your parents are living together because of you is hurtful for a child.
My childhood would have been a whole lot different but for those loving letters from my dad.

I wish Sona and Dev reconciled before disclosing to Soha. That poor child!

Geena and DQ -- awesome analysis. 👏 👏 👏
Once I was faced with a situation where I had to make a decision which was related to life or death. I did not know what to do. At that time my brother had told me one thing. He said "Once you think of a decision, stand in front of the mirror and tell it to yourself while facing yourself. If you are able to do so while meeting your own eyes, take it. Because it will be the right one and you will be able to live with it without regretting it". His advice changed me. I made the decision and haven't regretted it ever since.

Both Dev and Sonakshi made decisions which they regretted later since they did not stand by them. Hopefully they will realize the mistakes before it is too late. 😊

Thanks Shaavi

Being able to sensibly stand by their decisions is what I am also hoping we get to see. The show already made a mockery of infertility and marriage. I hope they dont do the same for parenting now
