Quite an interesting week of episodes I must say !! This post is majorly my thought process about Dev's dumbness and Sona's Stone heartedness as criticized vastly around the forum. So bear with me if the post gets long.
Before we judge any characters I would like you to remind about the timelines which I mentioned in some other posts too. Viewers connect to a certain characters quite strongly and are led to disappointments and confusions because we can't travel with the same timeline the episodes are taking place when they behave adversely. Can't blame the viewers too when the makers have successfully screwed our sanity with leap😆.
Before 7 years:
Every marriage is different be it love or arranged depending on the circumstances we might have to adapt and accept new relationships to our life. Both husband and wife need time to slowly learn the lesson of companionship and relationship initially..however they are sure to fall and learn from mistakes ofcourse with the main help of communication which is where Devakshi failed because they didn't even get a chance to cross that dangerous phase of first year of their marriage when they were still raw and learning about it especially in a joint family!
Dev had a difficult childhood and a lone pillar of strength "His Maa" and was living a robotic life till Sonakshi crossed him. A new wave of excitement touched him as if he found "HIS" missing piece, a perfect companion for an imperfect person like him who can add that liveliness to his life.
Sona had a perfect loving childhood with her entire family as her pillar of strength but was living a colorless life till Dev crossed her. A sense of fulfillment touched her as if she found "HER" missing piece, an imperfect hurting companion for a perfect person like her who can add that color to her life!!
Perfect Yin for Yang !! So what changed this perfection? Their so called "Pillar of strengths" which shook Devakshi's very own foundation of love !!
Dev is never a reader of hearts when it comes to emotional relationships, he trusts what he sees at face value and need direct talks to realise the underlying problems. This is the main reason he couldn't really point fingers at Ishwari's insecurities or Sona's suffering because both hid the obvious from him. So for a guy like him to understand even the intrinsic problems of normal marriage need time and with the mother like his, he needed ample time which is what he did not get !
Sona is always the listener of heart and try to rectify the problem before anyone points out how incapable she is. This is the main reason for Sona trying to win Ishwari's heart to become a perfect DIL before enjoying her love life. Even with a normal and loving Saas it takes time for a new bride to get adjusted and with such an extremely insecure Ishwari and a house full of cunning people, she needed hell lot of time to figure and adjust which is what she did not get either!!
I think we all were unreasonable asking both Dev and Sona to ditch their pillar of strengths when they were still young and budding in their marriage figuring out before they become each other pillar of strengths. Guess even we were impatient like Devakshi to sail the ship faster forgetting about the path of dangerous waves they cruised along and obviously it crashed !😳
After 7 years :
Dev has learned not to trust face value talks anymore but instead listen to his heart more. This is the reason even though Sona screams she has moved on, he finds ways to know if its indeed true by provoking her ( Previous Dev would have confronted her like Ritwik's case), even though his mother lied about Sona's marriage , he wanted to hear from the horse mouth's itself keeping a flower bait (Prev Dev would have cried his heart out on mother's lap and confronted Sona madly).
Now most importantly even though he sees so many clues about Suhana, he wanted to clarify himself and be sure of the mystery before he acts impulsively (Prev Dev would have clutched Jatin's collar and found the truth). Till thursday's episode his heart strongly believed Sona can't conceive and moreover she is not so stone hearted to hide it from him, but yesterday once he knows Suhana is not Jatin's daughter, his thought immediately went to " She has only 7 % chance" clubbed with "Why this kid affect me so much?" set his stalker mode to figure the truth himself because he is not clueless as we all bash him but indeed he is internally shocked with the miracle truth that might unfold and want to absolutely be sure before he looses himself once again. Because what he might find out will be changing his life forever and he knows it !!
Sona has now learned not to trust those hearty emotions which gave her nothing but pain and misery but not wasting more than 5 minutes to take a decision is the best way to live heartbreak free life. This is the reason even though Dev saved her, she took his face value challenge of "only I can hurt you and news article" true, even though Ishwari thanked her, "only family allowed" made her return the favor and close the eshaan tag, even though Dev provoked her for remarrying, " I told Maa I will never get married" to blast the truth to put a period on that moving on part and outing that lie because Sona is now done playing "Miss Goodytwoshoes"
Now most importantly even though she sees signs of Suhana's blank pages of missing father, she visualizes practically how ruthless Dev can be when it comes to achieving things his way. She had given a comfortable life as a single mother all these years and she is confident that she can do it even now especially after seeing how ruthless Dev is even today and has every reason to fear of loosing that only part of unadulterated color of her life in the name of Suhana(Mind you she has no idea how much Dev changed and she neither wishes to know now that her priorities are changed). She gives the choice to a 6 yr old and takes her answer at face value because thinking deep is sure to tear up those old scars and she might even loose Suhana too in the process and that is going to change her life for sure and she knows it !!
A perfect role reversal only to become perfect "Yang for Yin" because their love is still intact one keeping in the form of Suhana other keeping in the form of memories !! And I will say both are not at fault here !! (Strictly my POV people😆)
Again its been hardly a week's time in the serial world since Devakshi met and hardly a day time since Dev got doubt about Suhana while we are witnessing the leap for almost a month.😳 .. Again they both need time to face the realities and again we are highly impatient to give them that. If its human nature to judge and act impulsively why not Dev and Sonakshi ? 😆
I must say the makers are brilliant in spinning the story so widely even after the leap without compromising the original traits that we all are left guessing the next move. Pretty impressive for a serial that crossed 250 episodes !!👏 If they can make me post at 3am here , I guess they are doing something definitely right and KRPKAB is still oozing magic..what say ?!😉
