@Payal: I really respect your personal experience, but when absolute right and wrong comes into question, is where this discussion derails for me. Ishwari was right in some respects and wrong in others, but for me the point of the discussion is more about trying to figure out what motivated the choices she made. And I think the reason she wanted such unrelenting control on Dev was because she was as dependent on him (in the present) as he was on her (while a kid). This is why it wasn't a normal parent-child relationship. So her decisions regarding her son were never neutral. They were always informed by self-interest.

After today's episode, I think Ishwari should be declared a model patient for all the psychiatrists in the world. The ultimate test of your ability - find out how her brain works. 😆
