As always, an amazingly well written analysis. It's like you spoke my mind through your words.
Dev has always been a complicated character. Have you ever wondered how a man like him who spoke so little, who had to be coaxed to speak his mind ...talked nonstop on the night he first professes his love for Sonakshi or for that matter, the next morning when Sonakshi goes to his room and he asks her to help him learn about her and he goes on to recite all the things he wants to know about her? It was sheer poetry.

How did that happen? If he went from a man who spoke when spoken to in monotones and to reciting poetry...it was because, he had it in him but had kept a lid on that part of his personality due to his responsibilities towards his families; as he was made to believe that responsibilities towards family can be fulfilled only if one does not act on one's desires as heart's desires can distract from life's purpose of making wealth and supporting your family in the style they deserve. At least that was what Ishwari taught him. But he broke that chain when he fell in love with Sona and married her. In fact he shared more with Sona than Sona did with him. And when Sona left, he changed again. What Dev thinks and feels right now, we don't know. We can only read between the lines and conclude on what he may have meant or what his eyes spoke. It'll be up to Sona and Soha to peel those layers behind which the real thoughts behind Dev's actions are hidden.

Since we are anyway here...let us wait and watch.

May I say, I am thrilled to be back this week coz I am seeing all my favourite writers back in action all over again. I truly feel like saying...welcome back KRPKAB! Yes, they need to keep it Devakshi centred to keep us here long...lets indeed keep our fingers crossed.

But having said that, I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised at the pace and developments being shown. Of course, like you pointed out, there are many many inconsistencies in the plot and as usual Dev is again sacrificed at the alter of plot development.

Thankfully, Shaheer is saving Dev. He is so good in portraying this Dev that it is a pleasure watching Dev, right?

Thanks Sue😃 You are too kind and yes, Shaheer is doing a brilliant job of portraying the new Dev. You can tell he is enjoying every moment of KRPKAb now...and that pleasure comes through in the scene.

Excellent summary of where the show is. Not a word to add or a word to be taken away.
Home is where the heart is. KRPKAB was like a home, but if the home leaks, or breaks down, we fix fit and fix it right. Hope they do not make the home a dilapidated one where there is no other choice but to break it down and rebuild or move away.

I really want Dev to admit his role in the failure of love and marriage than trying to blame it on someone else. Nothing less than this will make sense.

This forum really have some amazing bunch of talents !! KRPKAB magic is slowly peeking back and so are you..Welcome my friend 🤗

You came 🤗

And yes, Shaavi's amazing post has provided an all rounded understanding of how one needs to perceive Dev. I say Shaavi knows Dev better than the CVs coz look at the way they treat him.

For instance, Dev's roshan with God! they started it...gave to lots of importance and it was left out abruptly because it didn't suit the story they wanted to tell all of a sudden. They may or may not bring it back but there's no point dwelling over such stuff.

I agree this forum has amazing talent and you surely are one of them :)

Thank you for the warm welcome ...it feels good to know that I was missed...what with me being a late entrant here :)

Thank you 🤗

I tell you, we are such Dev fan girls that we are willing to forgive him all transgressions 😆

Okay! on a serious note, I get what you are saying. Dev's childhood and the invisible hand that controlled him for years where the control was presented as love made him the way he is. So, Dev is as messed up as they come...I guess if he lived outside India, he would be ripe case for therapy right?

Dev swung from one end of the pendulum to the opposite end without finding resolutions to the existing problems. He went from doing whatever his mother wished to complete emotional detachment with his mother.

He continues to do what Ishwari always expected him but without emotional attachment. He finally understood that he was the money making machine for the family. Yet, he feeds them the money. I guess providing for others is interwoven into the fabric of his being. But his ability to read Ishwari's every move / thought without those rosy tinted glasses is a pleasure to watch. I am loving that part.

But the man is hurting like hell and he is bleeding internally. Sona had Soha and a business to establish which can both be very time consuming and a supportive family to top it all but Dev had to make a go at it without any of the things Sona had...my heart goes out to him ...and you know that but then I don't like it that they want to show him as a skewed character who does not how to look at matters balancedly/logically despite everything. I really am rooting for Dev to come out stronger and have a solid grasp of reality this time. I want him there for Sona and Soha when they need him coz he has never really been there for Sona every time she needed him desperately.

Thank you Das ji :)

As you rightly said, when a home leaks or breaks, you need to try and fix it coz abandoning without trying to fix speaks about one's own fatalistic outlook which doesnt work very well in real world.

For now, the new version of KRPKAB is working fine. Coz we know what Sona has done all these years and she is like an open book as always. With Ishwari's insecurities about Sonakshi out in the open and Dev's understanding of those insecurities complete, hopeful the focus won't be much on that aspect as well.

Which is the reason why, I am guessing, Dev's mysteriousness is maintained. This time around, we will have to wait to see how Dev will evolve from behind those layers. Between his love for Sona and Sonia, his evolution should be complete. And like you said, lets keep our fingers crossed about the CVs not messing it up with OTT drama. Coz the new leap and style f current style of story telling is clearly working and it is even showing through better TRPs. Amen to that yeah!

Yes Yes! absolutely agree that Dev is the mysterious character post leap. Except for few glimpses of his relationship with girls (which we know doesnt involve heart), his dynamics with his family, we don't really know what is going on in his mind. And I'm sure that is intentional on the part of CVs. Let's see and hope it'll be total paisa vassal kind of entertainment 😆

Brilliant post!!! 👏👏👏
The creative writers really need to buck up to stand out showing their brilliance... But no.. they are too happy in their comfort zone trying the same formula mix again and again, leaving the intelligence limited to our Forum writers😃... That's why the forum is more interesting than the show itself... 👏
