So guys, welcome to another rant. Not for the show this time, but for many people who are disgracing women. STOP, please!
You ask why? Here's why.
A quick look at the current track of the show.
Dev Dixit. Divorcee of Dr. Sonakshi Bose. He isn't cheating on her anymore and has every right to do as he pleases.
Shruti is shown as a friend of his, and she claims to be in love. As a grown woman well over 18, she has every right to be intimate with him if their consent is mutual. Mind you, I'm only 14 years old but for real, we have been taught about physical shit and relationships at school (courtesy Australian education) and even I am smart enough to know that Shruti is at no fault here. I've even seen a bunch of (sorry to say) dimwits who have bashed the actress on twitter. Heights! Dev, for that matter didn't even use her to make Sonakshi jealous. They've been speaking for at least 15 days right?
Talking about the talk in town, equality. People claim that now India has progressive thinking and all. This is your progressive thinking people? Just because someone is now getting physical with a character you ship with someone else, they are labelled a chipkali and denied their honour? When will we ever move further if this is how it works? It isn't real life, so you're assured the leads will somehow be back together. But in real life, a divorced, estranged couple who aren't together, would you call the girl who desires a serious relationship with the man a chipkali? A guy dating multiple women is called a player right? But if a woman does the exact same thing, she is denied her self respect and is nothing less than a chipkali. Double standards much?
Lets walk back to see where all this may have started... Mahabharat days... An epic that holds the greatness of the Bhagvad Geeta. But that very story which narrates Draupadi's humiliation for wedding 5 men, yet also explores nothing but support for any men who desires more than a single wife!
Thank Christ the above isn't how 21st century works... But double standards nonetheless, remain behind.
I've read a fantastic post on the forum that asked a brilliant question. Would we as an audience, accept Sonakshi had she been a flirtatious, alcoholic chic kind of personality post leap? Would we save her the bashing if she was flirty with Suhana's male teachers in front of her? Or would we, with our narrow minded double standards simply label her a damn "sl*t". Because, inequality still resides within the place. Her, being a female suddenly makes it immoral to do exactly what Dev has been shown doing. I'm letting it be known that I'm not supportive at all of Dev's strides of getting flirty with the teacher in front of Golu. So I wouldn't support Sonakshi doing the same either. Difference is its not because she's a woman, but because her deeds would be immoral.
Forget the fact that they still might feel for each other, or are in love. Why does Shruti, for a mutual consent for intimacy have to suffer terming "Chipkali".
So the fellas that do call her a Chipkali, do keep in mind what I have mentioned and if yet you have more reasons to continue the name tag, then do go ahead. I'm extremely apologetic to come across as rude, inappropriate and mean, but as a woman or young teenage girl myself, inequality is intolerable.
Thanks for reading and God bless!

PS Just adding here something else which irks me so badly. I recently watched an old music video of Shaheer's where he was costarring with some model called Dona, I think. Wanna know the comments? "Shaheer please kill this Dona, chipku 'bxtch' and go get married to Erica." I mean WOW!!! Are you kidding me? These are the comments and retorts that burn down my brain. The limit! A music video, over 5 years old! And there are these blind fans who are bashing a woman for costarring with an actor they ship with another actress. Smh look I give up over such people, I just give up.
