One hypothetical question------
If gujral was his FIL , given our iswari's insecurities
If he had spoken against iswari, would he slap him ?

I don't think so. Because gujral is powerful.
He would have controlled himself.
Another thing is iswari also would not be that open.

So it all boils down to class difference.
It is immaterial that sona is educated, independent & what not?

Middle class girls are still seen as gold diggers.
That is why I always feel girls should marry from their own class/ class lower.

Rich boy & middle class girl may not work.

If it was Gujral. This issue would have not happened at all.Ish will be happy.Saying my Son is growing in his career.GKB will be.Now Dev n Gujral r partners. We will get more money. So GKB N Ish would not have made issue. If Dev given Gujral money. So the situation.Would not have been reached to slap.

It's not about money, it's about how a man is raised. I am an Indian woman born and raised in India by a single mother. My father-in-law is a self-made multi-millionaire in Canada. My husband can quit his job tomorrow and never have to worry for money. But we both work because we don't want to live on my father-in-law's hard-earned money.

When I said that I want to get married in India because my family can't afford to fly to Canada, my entire family of in-laws (father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, his two children and my husband's friends) who has never stepped foot outside North America packed their bags and came to India for my wedding. Why? Because my husband said what makes me happy, makes him happy. Never once they made me feel that I was not the cherished member of their family. In my Canadian wedding where my mother could not come, my father-in-law gave me away to his own son.

That's the difference in upbringing.

Dev would have never slapped Gujral because just like Ishwari, he is a bully. The people he considers beneath him, he flexes his power on them. And he only considers people beneath him who aren't rich.

He took away Ranveer's living because he didn't dance to his sister's tune. What did he do to Ayan's parents for supporting him in his lies by claiming his girlfriend is his cousin beyond making Ayan leave town? Nothing. Who was the bigger criminal between Ranveer and Ayan? The only difference is that Dev perceives Ayan as rich and Ranveer as poor.

Ishwari is the same. We all know how Ayan's family treated Ishwari and how she talked to them and how Sonakshi's family treated her and how she behaved with them. Again she perceives one family as rich and the other, not.

All they understand is the language of money. They have no decency, no manners, no culture and definitely no respect for people who are not rich.

👏 You had a wonderful wedding Tia. 👏 The pics can just give a glimpse of how beautiful it was. The entire English Family were looking outstanding in all Indian outfit 😃. And like I told you, not even in a secret click they looked huffed-puffed while adjusting with India's climate, culture etc.😊 We have people like em who accept another culture and country at the drop of a hat. And then we have people like Dev Dixit who does such a BIG favour by allowing a stranger like Sona to become a part of his. 😃

Bang on the comparison of Aayan. Bose family should seriously sit with Ranveer's family and file a joint lawsuit case of harassment against them. Ishwari successfully destroyed 2 married couples just for her own insecurity/guilt/blah-blah-blah. 🤢

I now want Ishu to go back to Aayan and get him married to Ria without pre-nup and I want Aayan to bring Dixits on street. The arrogance comes of their money-power. How I wish to see that money gone.

Thanks. It was indeed incredible. Everyone of our guests still talks about it. We also traveled the Golden Triangle after the wedding with our wedding guests from abroad and that were memorable as well. In Inter-cultural marriage adjustment has to be made, may be more than in same culture marriage. But when you respect each other's individuality and not put them down constantly, that's the only way it can work.

Imagine if an Indian were to be married to an American and her American in-laws continuously in ugly tone called her "that Indian" and her husband didn't say a word, how would that marriage survive. Yet from Day 1, Sonakshi was called "Bangalan" by Mamiji while Dev stood silently and watched. The tone made the word insulting, not the word itself.

Marriage happens between equals as Sneha said. But not necessarily financial equals but intellectual, ethical and personal equals.

You may be two completely different person but when you have the same values, ethics, morals, goal in life, respect and importance in your joint life, your relationship will work. That's how an artsy Indian girl and a rocket scientist Canadian man are making it work - with mutual respect for each other and for each of our heritage and culture because our children will be born with legacy from both.
