I made my son watch DDLJ and told him see this is how a decent guy should be. And whenever he watches kuch rang I tell him this is how a man should never be

😳 Raj.

Irony is before today I have never thought that Raj could hit Baldev 😆.

I am not questioning hope in your real life..but hope regarding show..thats what I am referring to
then you think will they ever be able to justify your expectations ??

oh my name is Mahua ..

i watch it very diligently waking up at 2 am every night to catch the episodes online :-)

1. this show started off with strong characters and showed how an individually strong and righteous person gets flawed by being entangled in relationships.

right from Ishwari, to Asha i dont see any negative character, they all have their own set of characteristics which either make them unnerving to the extent that you puke at them or you adore them to death.

Most of the situations/scenes that this show an shown so far are faaar tooo realistic and i can relate every member that i know of with one or the character in every scene.
So far i have never come across a single scene, where i did not have a person from my personal experience that i could not place him/her.I am not talking about individual characters here, but about the scene itself.

I am curious to see how each character will mould into finally when this story ends.
1) will Sona lose her identity and become like water that takes the shape of every object it is poured into ?
2. will Ishwari be forever in the delusion that hers is genuine love and not an obsession
3. Will Dev be able to survive in his marriage by forever placing his maa over the emotions of his spouse. ?
4. How do parents like Asha and bijoy come to terms see their daughter being reduced to a second grade citizen .

Do you need anymore validations on why i watch this show?
It might be crappy but it is not "VERY UNREALISTIC" . As you can see from this forum, there are people like sona, dev and ishwari out there for real!!!

Um, if you think that prank was super charming and that we should give Raj credit for not having sex with her while she was drunk -- however she got that way -- I don't know what to say. 😕

Also, what do you mean? Raj totally said 'daddy doesn't agree tata bye bye,' gave Simran's hand in Baldev's and left to get on the train. He didn't even ask what Simran wanted to do, and said in so many words that Simran would have to marry Kuljeet if that is what Baldev ultimately ordered because she was his "amaanat." DDLJ and Raj were groundbreaking at the time, and nobody can deny it, but the gender politics of the film are heavily outdated now.

Purely from a story perspective, if you want to draw parallels with KRP, it makes more sense to juxtapose Dev and Simran, both overburdened children of parents who went through great hardships to raise them, parents who tend to place their honour and importance above the happiness of their child. Sona is much more like Raj... the breath of fresh air and levity in Dev's heavily controlled life. In this case, she is the one with the supportive family, and loves Dev enough to deal with his dysfunctional one.

Men shouldn't always have to be the rescuers. Sometimes they are the ones who need help.

I cant believe i am going to witness it soon..
no matter what if he does slap.. it is over for dev himself.. and sona if she stands by dev n ishwari for this.. i wud say..
someone who cannot respect her ownself will obviously be okay with her dad being slapped..
whatever noise he is doing it is for her..
he might b crossing limits.. but is that not what dev's mother and mamiji doing.. then why only one sided reality check..!!!!

coz it is gal side relatives..? boy side have all the license to do any shit.. still respect..

i dont care what happens then.. am only bothered about
What dadi thinks?
what asha thinks?
what saurabh thinks?
what elena thinks?
and mostly what SONA thinks?

We don't as we know that everyone is entitled to do what they want/like what they want. At least I don't even open such posts. Me going into those and start moral policing there would be quite stupid in my opinion.

Because everyone has there own free will, choice and taste. No one has any business to preach others as to what they should do or like.

No absolutely not answerable ..also I am not making you stand in courtroom to answer LOL..ye bhi karna zaroori nahi tha

Okay fair enough no one asks it..and if anyone asks I reply as per the requirement..I wont comment on why you felt Sonakshi was humiliated (minus current situation)..Oh but wait..you named it as humiliation I named it as compromises adjustments and understanding..

you think I was trying to do moral policing LMAO..then you are highly mistaken..have a glass of cold water..dude did u even read what I was saying..I never said what anyone should do..I simply asked something that too in a very general way..coz I couldnt fathom the reason of it ..simple..that too coz I felt with so much of criticism how can one enjoy something..thats why I asked

Instead I feel their are many here with very idealistic thinking..

And unlike some people, I can't fangirl for a show just for the cheesy and two minute romance of the couple. I was promised something through the promos and I wanted to see how they progress their story. Unfortunately, most of the shows succumb to old tactics of saas bahu saga and go down the drain. Exactly what's happening with this "amazing" show.

No not at all..time pass too is okay..you have some moto to watch it ..so good

Hindi shows wont give..what you are demanding..and if a couple gets married then their will be a saas their will be a bahu and their will be problems issues between them..so saying it as old typical saas bahu thing..is invalid coz it is a saas bahu show..

Enjoying romantic moments feeling love and emotionally getting attached to something or drooling fangirling is cheesy , foolish ?? ..when watching a romantic family show..you cant watch it mechanically..with so many terms and conditions..Indian shows involve emotions feelings love romance family..these are the prime things..Its a LOVE story between Dev and Sonakshi..this whole show is based on emotions only..and I am not some old fashioned thinking girl..no.. but yes I give preference to emotions & relationships..

Oh I am not teaching you anything ..so dont take it like so..thats my POV..which I am expressing ...

Dont watch it with some pre notions..dont assume storyline , the way you want it to progress..those initial 20 second promos got me hooked too.. what they promised through promos ??..they just gave rough idea of 2 humans who got separated ..but how why and under what circumstances..it never showed that..no one knew what ups and downs these 2 will be going through..now as per the things are progressing ..it can be seen..

Its important to relate and I do it too..as long as its touching your heart ..you will have soft feeling for something but as soon as you starts putting condition ..you no longer understand it..feel it
