But if Ishwari went around the question, and Sona didn't ask the same question again with firm yes or no answer, we all know what will happen later. With this mother and son duo, you need written contract without loopholes since both are master at lying.

Now coming back to your question, why is Ishwari desperate. She is not letting Dev to go with Sonakshi on honeymoon, she is lending her tool which Sonakshi has to return when the job is done whether it's a success or not.

Have you ever been to a stud farm? The owner lends out their stud sometimes to pay a debt which might force him to sell the stud if left unpaid. Instead he lends out the stud to the debt holder. The stud impregnates the mare. The debt holder gets a new born foal and the owner gets his stud back.

That is exactly what is going on here. Ishwari is lending her stud so that Sona either gets pregnant and gets busy with her child, leaving her cash cow to Ishwari or she is unsuccessful and Ishwari can use emotional blackmail on Dev to separate them permanently. It's a win-win strategy for Ishwari. That's why she evaded the question Sonakshi asked. Because Sonakshi could use that answer to expose Ishwari's intention in front of Dev.

When she thought Sona had lied, she made lying the focus of her pain, saying that she would have agreed for the marriage for Dev's happiness if only Sona had told the truth. Now that she had lied, Ishwari would show her what she could do. When Dev revealed that it was he who had lied, the lying became less important; as she said today, "I don't care how much anyone has lied, what matters is looking forward." The sooner Ishwari can make her son's lie a truth, the sooner she can go back to her comfortable, emotional cocoon where she believes that Dev is under her control, and the family runs according to her wishes.
